Desertrat,  I have spent the past week thinking this one out, but I cannot remember what the project was called.  I do remember hearing about this, but it name/reason has slipped from my mind.

    • RE: Ranger House Rule

dezrtfish, the only reason I said “not down” was mainly the fact that I, personally, have been unable to find any information about Ranger assalts that started above the enemy.  But, thats my two cents worth.

    • Ranger House Rule

I know that there are not a lot of maps with cliffs, but this should be considered.  Since it was Companies D, E, and F of the 2nd Ranger Battalion (aka Rudder’s Rangers after their commander Colonel James E. Rudder) that scaled the 100-foot cliffs at Pointe Du Hoc, the Rangers should have the ability to move up a cliff (but not down a cliff).  To do so, roll a d6. If a 4,5,6 then the attempt is successful and the Ranger scales the cliff.  If a 1,2,3 then the attempt failed and he stays were he is at.  Any ideas???

    • Missing Units

This has probably been talked about before, but their seems to be no answer to it:  Why are some important units left out?

      Like for the US:
What happened to the .30cal mg?  or the M10 Wolverine?  or the Howitzer?  and many many more units like these were left out.  Why???

Desertrat, when you study World War Two history as much as you can during your free time, you can learn a lot.  The only problem is remebering it all…… :|.  Also, being a hugh fan of WW2 American fighters/bombers does help.

    • RE: F4U Corsair

The F4U Corsair was designed and built in America.  But, due to its long engine hood, pilots could not land it on a carrier (since they could not even see the deck).  The British were interested in the F4U so the Americans gave them a few.  British Navy pilots encountered the same problem, but came up with solution.  Instead of coming straight at a carrier to land like a Wildcat (as an example) does, the F4U had to come in from a 45ish degree at a carrier.  They did this by looking at the carrier deck through the downward part of the wing until the last few seconds were they had no view of the deck at all.  Once the British told the Americans about this solution, the F4U Corsair was back on US Carriers again.

I wish I could be able to trade with you, but I can pay you instead.  How much money would you want for these units:

      BS-18 M1 Garand Rifle (x 5)
      BS-21 M4A1 Sherman (x 1)
      BS-22 M4A3E8 Sherman “Easy Eight”
      7 units total
