we lost 19 starters after the 98-99 season. so we sucked pretty bad the next few years. but the majority of their jokes were about the trademark “block O” we use as a logo on hats and stuff. my friends favorite term for us was “the zero’s”

dont i know it. im on my 11th year in this god-forsaken state. and ive been defending OSU’s honor the whole time. you should’ve seen my friends faces on January 4th. it was so unbelievably beautiful. :lol: my favorite was my history teacher. he said that it would utterly impossible for us to keep up with UM’s speed. i rubbed it in for the rest of the semester. needless to say, i wasnt his favorite student… :wink:

ok, before you all start bashing the buckeyes and saying last season was a fluke or something’ i really dont expect them to return to the championship. i was shocked we did as good as we did last season. if we keep playing like we are now, Michigan will walk all over us (grrrr) :evil:.

im not that big on the new movies, while the 50 jedi’s were pretty cool, i still think the ensuing battle between closes and droids was cooler. watching the colors of the blaster fire light up the smoky haze was just awsome and all the arial bombardment was cool too. if you want hand to hand, yoda beating down on dooku was better than the arena battle

in regards to visual effects in movies, no air battle can contend with the angles and dogfights seen the the battle of Endor. watching all those snub-fighters dodge in and out of the capital ships while dodging turbolaser fire from +30 star destroyers was awsome. but for land battles, id have to agree with Yanny and Janus1, Plennor Fields is huge.
personally i think this hurts Russia far too much. the only way for Russia to survive is by sheer numbers, it doesnt have the financial capability to produce enough of the more advanced units to stay alive without mountains of INF. these are used mainly for defense and in support of the little armor and air force Russia has to cripple the German war machine. if not for that, then its cool. you might consider raising the amount of units karelia/russia (territory) can produce per turn. that should even things out enough so that Russia can have a decent game.

the americans arent usually considered a strategic player. their role is mainly to support and defend UK/Russian holdings. if anything, they liberate Africa and harrass Japan in the Pacific, or take a Japanese area on the mainland after Russian forces have weakend it. they arent really meant to be an offensive country and take to long to really get into the game to have any majorly decisive battles. The best they usually can do is a combined US/Russian assault on the home islands, and by that time Germany is usually out of the game and it is basically over the the Axis anyway.
florida bites. ive lived here for 11 years and hated every second of it. theres only two seasons. Summer, and Wet Summer (winter to normal people). its always hot and nasty.
its basically a way to play it out if you dont want a super long game. the way everyone plays just drags the game out too long sometimes. dont get me wrong though, i love a good contest. this is just something new to try that i havent noticed many people considering before
anyone who needs to look at a pic of the board while online can look here if they dont want to drag out their gameboard.

this is eaiser than it sounds. execut an all fronts attack on asia. attack Sinkian, India, Soviet Far East w/ 2 INF via trannie from Japan, bring the Japan fighter/bomber. and send ships to Pearl. you probably wont have much left where you win. but the allies wont have anything there to counter you, with the exception of russia. but this can be averted with a few quick strikes by germany to draw Russian Troops away from the east.
the last area to fall in france was actually the border with Germany. the Maginot line ahd not been extended through a thick coastal forest on the belife that the forest would be enough. also, it hadnt been extended south to cover the border with italy. the German army basically squeezed single file through the woods after the maginot line kicked the snot out of them. even when the germans came at it from the rear later on, it was still an impressive defense.
i have tried this combined assault on russia before. but things didnt go so well against the UK. the brit player didnt bother attacking, or even liberating africa. he just kept buying infantry every turn and camping on the isles. by the time i was ready to attack him, he had over 40 INF. i sent bomber fleets from russia (japanese controlled) and kept ferrying units across. but i coulnd break him. most players would never expect a UK sit-and-wait strat. but it works pretty well to keep the axis from winning if they go Russia 1st. it gives the US time to get into the game.
without japan, the game would be lopsided. speaking from a strictly gaming point of view. without Japan, all the allied forces could be concentrated in one general area surrounding europe. giving the allies an unfathomable advantage by being able to instantly support each other, while still attacking on multiple fronts. “fortress europe” would be strangled to death by the contstricting allies
