      KJF again……

KJF generally do not work against decent axis players, and also if u play with no tech, no NA’s, no VC’s.
Pure domination, no tech, TTL. Low luck or dice doesn’t matter as long as dices are average, or else u would lose
      to a 5 year old…
With somewhat even players, KJF will fail to win games. Maybe it could work 1 of 10 times.
KJF (imo) means building every US unit from LA.

      @Enskive:

I have never seen a KJF that works. and dont come up whith starts, it only works if u can beat me whith it. :-D

That’s what I’ve been saying since I first came here, cpl of months ago.
I’ve seen (very few games) US shipping units to SFE, but this is as far as the “KJF” can work.

But remember this Enskive, in this forum ppl play with NA’s, and sometimes even tech.
We dont do that in the triplea lobby, so perhaps that type of games is radically different from what we’re used to.

      @cyan:

1 like teh 1 fighter bid to NOrway. Then germany builds 4 figs rd. 1.  :-o. thats alot of planes.

I would not give u 10 bid for axis.

    • RE: Carrierland

Personally I don’t think the G AC buy is a good strat, and more than one is only worse.
But sometimes allies can’t even land in Afr. rnd. 1 becuase Germany may do sealion.
And in other games there’s even sub, trans + BB in sz 13, 4 G ftrs in WE + bmr in Berlin makes
allie landing in Afr. too dangerous, better to wait until rnd. 2.

To let Germany have Afr. uncontested means allies is letting axis win. E.o.d.

With a Jap trans bid in sz60 Jap can do both pearl and take Hawaii, killing a an extra US fighter.
Never seen this move often though.
What if Jap places 1 inf each in Kwang, Manc. and Fic,
Jap may get 9 inf in China J1….

AC UK1 is standard for me, maybe UK2 but even if Germany don’t buy ftrs the UK fleet can be easily sunk.

    • RE: Where to place Bid Builds?

I never played ladder games, although I usually play in the lobby.
With 9 bid for axis (1 unit pr. TT) the axis victory % is 50.9%.
So a bid of 8 is imo acceptable.

I once tried shipping 4 units a turn from SE to Afr.
      Got killed in Europe…
US can land 6-8 units by rnd 3 so Afr. is lost anyway, same as with German navy.

      @Cmdr:

The United States of America should not impinge it’s will on a sovereign nation.

      Like Iraq?

Or as the war against Iran in a few months/years?

Exactly.  If the sovereign nation of the United States wants to attack another sovereign nation, then that is our business, not Israel’s or Uzbekistans, etc.  Same if Israel wants to attack Syria.

So if the sovereign nation of Iran wants to attack Israel, then it is their business, not the US, UN, or any other nation.
At least we agree on this.

    • RE: Where to place Bid Builds?

It’s hard to believe that the German trans bid in baltic is discussed again!!!
With even players, axis need 8-9 to win. This is a fact.
If Germany tries the sealion G1 it’s gonna fail 70%.
And it’s no problem whatsoever to agree to atleast the first rnd attack on capitals is forbidden, with or
      withouth LHTR.
If some of you really belived this crap then go to the triplea lobby, take 8 bid and place trans in baltic….
      You’re gonna lose bigtime.
This is a really bad bid place (sz5) for Germany. At least if Germany is gonna try sealion G1.
Another issue is only one unit place pr. TT.
I personally wouldn’t allow any more.
All you have to do is to place 3 inf in ukr…with 9 bid then axis will have much bigger advantage.

As for bid placements I think art+tank Afr. is the better alternative, or 1 inf in Belo, EE, Balkans, or Norway,
to put maximum pressure on Russia from rnd 1.
With reg dice it can be fun to try the sub place bid in sz8.
Could kill all UK navy G1.
That would really hurt the allies if it succeds.

I think I found a picture if you in bikini, so we don’t need to play a KJF game to decide if KJF is
      better strat than KGF…
It would be fun to play against you anyway, but if you only play through forum or pbm then I won’t challenge
you again until you start playing realtime.

    • RE: Where to place Bid Builds?

I’ve seen Jap trans bid in East Indies, but I don’t think that bid is better than the Libya/Algeria bid.
And I seen art+tank in Fic, Kwang, which let Jap take India early, and the tank in Kwang also threatens
      J1 assault on Bury.
With Germany I always worry about the med., so I would go for Afr. just to keep allies take afr back
and so use a little more time before US can take SE.
As for bids generally, I will usually not play axis with less than 8 bid.

    • RE: Nit picky German Economizer

Previously I said that I would move my German tank to Arch. to put pressure on Russia.
      Now I changed my mind…. :-o
I will not leave a Russian inf behind in Kalia either,
no obvious reason, just feels right to stack WRU with all possible units.
Saving one German tank is a minor detail, but many details throughout a game may have big impact
      in the end.

    • RE: Weasels in Alaska - A Hypothetical

I wouldn’t go to Alaska with Jap, as US I would leave enough tanks+inf for protection in LA and to
kill whatever Jap units were left in Alaska.
I don’t think Jap should extend further than Australia,
but sometimes NZ and Hawai in games that lasts beyond 10 rnds.
To have mainland Asia and sometimes Afr. that’s what Jap should do, IMO.

    • RE: Japan invading Brazil - An option?

If Brazil is there for the taking, then I grab it.
In some funny games, I had Brazil with Germany, and in another game with Japan  :-)
Fun doesn’t last long. US takes it back very soon.

    • RE: KJF etc.

KJF must have something do with game rules, apart from low luck or dice.
      VC’s, NA’s or tech, etc.
I believe there’s a good reason why I almost never see a KJF played in the lobby.
For some reasons, a KJF, or at least US taking Jap islands work better in the games you play
      in this forum.
It must be, or else you wouldn’t have insisted of winning a lot of games using this strat.

    • RE: German Offensive Troubles..

Jap player could sometimes not do pearl, in tempting US to come to pacific.
All Jap units could be used on mainland J1.
If UK goes all in, those units should be killed, though.
Problem with not doing pearl, is that US may send the pac fleet against Japan, and still build everyhing in EUS.
Pressure on Germany would be the same, the US pac fleet uses 3-4 rnds before it’s in European waters.
If US catches the bait, pressure on Germany will be much weaker.

      @Cmdr:

Problem 4:  I think you are really discounting the pressure the allies can bring to bear on Japan.

No I don’t, what I do believe is that this is a bad strat to win.
