    • RE: How much is a Minor IC please?

Thanks a lot, captain walker.  :-)

Also, is it still true that Majors get immediately downgraded to Minors upon capture?

    • How much is a Minor IC please?

I’m currently in the middle of writing a review for the Europe and Pacific 1940 games and I don’t have the respective rulebooks in front of me. I know a Major IC is 30, and I think the upgrade is 12 (is that right?) but I can’t remember the cost of a Minor. Thank you.

    • RE: TripleA Lobby Games Suggestions

Thanks for the info guys. I take it no chance of a ‘Collect Income’ phase window appearing in the near future then? I don’t know about the rest of you, but I personally like to know how much income I’ve received/where I’m being convoy raided etc at the end of my turn. Helps put things in perspective…

    • RE: TripleA Lobby Games Suggestions

Veqryn, here is what I think would make a nice touch to the TripleA game system: on your turn, after the Mobilize New Units phase, it would be very cool to see a ‘Collect Income’ screen appear, which would merely require you to click ‘Okay’ in order to move to the next power’s turn.

This screen would show how much income you’ve received from your territories, any National Objective bonus income, and/or Convoy Disruption penalties. I think it would really help players get a handle on their financial situation.

What do you say? Thank you for your time.

P.S.  what do the ‘T’ and ‘F’ stand for/mean in the the National Objectives side window? Thank you.

    • RE: Are you going to buy it?

I’ll buy one copy, I’m not into greedy profiteering. As much as I despise WotC, I will continue to buy their games so long as Larry Harris keeps working with them.

I’m really not at all keen on the whole Mongolia thing! And it’s not even worth any IPCs! That’s just plain mean; it should have been worth at least 1.  :-(

    • Need some help for the TripleA game options screen

Hey guys, is there any way I can find a description of what each button does in the game options screen does on TripleA? I am using TripleA version 1.6.1.4 and playing Global 1940 2nd Ed. There are all the check boxes for options that I would prefer turned on or off, but the trouble is I’m always 100% sure what these do exactly. Is there an explanation guide anywhere that I might have missed? For example, what does ‘Triggered Victory’ mean? And what is the difference between ‘Kamikaze Airplanes’ and ‘Use Kamikaze Suicide Attacks’? What does ‘Scramble From Island Only’ mean and how does it differ from ‘Scramble To Sea Only’?

I want to get a game started but I’d like to be sure what I’m setting here. Thank you all very much in advance.

    • Sea Zone 125 - a German Convoy Zone?

Hey, I was just looking at the map the other night and it occurred to me that SZ 125 appears to be a German Convoy Zone - is that right? I’m just a bit confused because of the Soviet National Objective concerning that sea zone… But it begins the game adjacent to German occupied Norway, so the Allies can raid it with convoy disruption, yes? Many thanks!

    • RE: Global 2nd edition Q+A ( AAG40.2)

Ah yes, so simple! It all makes sense now. Thank you again, Krieg.  :-)

But in that case, may powers that are allied to the UK still repair their own naval units at the UK’s Naval Bases situated on the map whose UK regional capital is under enemy control? For example, let’s say Japan has captured the regional capital of Calcutta. The Pacific UK economy may not repair its ships at all due to being restricted to only the Combat Move, Conduct Combat, and Noncombat Move phases… but can ANZAC repair ANZAC ships at these UK Naval Bases? Or the United States (if it was allied to the UK at that point)?

Thank you again for clearing this up.

    • RE: Global 2nd edition Q+A ( AAG40.2)

Hey guys, in the middle of a game of Global 1940 SE right now and need some help please. I think I’ve found a discrepancy in the Pacific rulebook, page 35. It says there under Capture of One of the United Kingdom’s Regional Capitals that: “An economy whose capital is held by the Axis can’t collect income, spend IPCs, or repair units.”

It’s the ‘repair units’ part that I’m having trouble with as it seems to fly in the face of the normal rules regarding the capture of a Capital. The only units that can be repaired in the game are Aircraft Carriers and Battleships, if I’m not mistaken, and there is no IPC cost associated with this. So did the wording mean to say “or repair facilities”?

Can anyone please advise? I’ve not seen this issue come up here on the boards before so I wonder if anyone else has noticed it. If it is indeed correct as written, perhaps Krieghund could elaborate on the reasoning/thought processes that went into its inclusion in the Global game. Thank you very much.

Wow, I’m loving these new changes, Krieg! Thank you and Larry for this. Can’t wait to try 'em out, especially the Soviet-Japanese Non-Aggression Pact!  :-)

I think you have to get from ‘New Conscript’ to ‘Infantry’ on here before you can do that, but I could be wrong…

    • RE: New to game (Movement Questions)

Hi UtahJazzfan8. To clarify, each unit in the game may use up to its maximum movement allowance in either the Combat Move phase or Noncombat Move phase. However, air units that used some of their movement allowance during the Combat Move phase usually have to use some or all of their remaining movement during the Noncombat Move phase (unless they remain in the embattled sea zone in order to land on an Aircraft Carrier. Hope that helps?
