Well said, gamerman01. I couldn’t agree more. I personally love Tech although I appreciate that it certainly changes the game sometimes drastically. It’s not for everybody and that’s fair enough. Me and my friend play with Tech and soon the chart is just covered with Nat Control markers!

That’s a good idea ll Duce, I like it. What do the modified Bombers look like compared with the Tac Bombers? Could you please post a photo of the two units together? That would be great! :-)

Oh yes, I know that. I was just hoping WOTC don’t cheap out again and just use the old scult.

German Stukas - hmm, there’s a good point. I wonder if they’ll make a new sculp for this unit or whether we’ll end up getting the one from AARevised? It was a bit small wasn’t it.

Razor, I do wish you’d stop telling people to buy more copies of this game as well as AA42. I, for one, can’t afford to and I’m sure there are many others who are not in good financial positions either. As it is, I’m struggling to be able to afford one copy of Pac40; let alone two! Sorry, but I’m a bit offended by your comments; please try and be a little more sensitive to other people.

I’m sorry Captain Crunch, but it’s true.

RE: SIGN OFF HERE WHEN YOU GET YOUR COPY!posted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
I’m still struggling to find a copy in the UK for around £60.00 or less. Sorry but that’s the most I’m willing to pay. I hope the price will drop a little when retailers begin to find that they’re not shifting as many copies as they’d previously thought.
I’ve looked into buying it from the States, but the shipping is almost equal to the cost of the game! :-P
In the meantime, Army of Northern Virginia, I will continue to browse places like Amazon and eBay and I’ll PM you when I find it a little cheaper! Good luck mate. :-)

RE: Bombers and tech…posted in Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition
Yeah! Or - you can roll for tech every turn but it only lasts the one game round… You no longer pay for tech; just throw a dice at the start of your turn. If you get a six you can then choose tech chart 1 or 2 and roll again to see which tech you get. This tech then lasts until the end of the game round. A bit random though! :-D

RE: Rules Q&Aposted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
I guess that’s okay as the FAQs often say something like “this sentence on page … should be replaced with …blah…blah…blah…” etc. So I will cut and paste the corrections myself, and then print it off (albeit in black & white). Did this with AA50 and it worked fine.

Army of Northern Virginia, I feel your pain.
I am working day and night for a solution. Keep your eyes and ears peeled, my good man! :-)

Hey gtg21, where are you from mate? I’ve checked out the Coolstuffinc site and yes, their prices are resaonable. But I’m in the UK and when you add the shipping on, the total comes to $103.49, which is £64.03. That’s still a bit much. Put it this way, if I could get a copy for about £60.00 I’d be happy.

Yep, I had a good read through this thread at the BGG forum. Especially interesting for us English customers:

RE: Limited Edition?posted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
Just give me that chance!
As soon as I obtain my copy I will get to work on the modifications, and then pin 'em up here soon.
P.S. Can we please have an official clarification as to whether AAP40 is a Limited Edition, as two of the local game shops I’ve spoken to seem to believe that it is?
Would be ever so grateful for a reply here. Thank you.

RE: SIGN OFF HERE WHEN YOU GET YOUR COPY!posted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
Where is your local game store? That’s the same price as mine is charging. It was £50 for Anniversary, and £75 for Pacific. I think it’s a ripoff.
Hi Army of Northern Virginia. My store is in Portsmouth, UK. I paid £50 for AA50 when it first came out and thought that was quite expensive. I have not bought AAP40 yet but that same store is charging £75. I agree with you; it most certainly is a rip off. I am not prepared to pay that much for a board game - especially one with poor/lack of components.
In the meantime I will continue to find a good deal for it online, and I’ll be sure to post again as soon as I have found a bargain!
Take care.

Krieghund, Craig A Yope, I really appreciate your efforts in helping us clarify quite a lot of issues here. Thank you both. Can either of you confirm whether an offical FAQ is being put together as we speak?

I sure will do Brain Damaged but I’m entirely sure how to do it just yet. It will be excellent quality though, I assure you! :-)

RE: Limited Edition?posted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
No Tac Bombers or Mech Infantry on the new battle board/strip? And Aircraft Carriers still showing as Attack at 1 :? Strewth. Guess I will have to make my own.
When AA42 came out, I didn’t use the battle strip thing - I just made a colour copy of the AA50 battle board and it worked fine… I will have to make an alteration this now, I think.

I’m in the UK and my game store called me last night to say that they have it in stock, for £75.00. Now, that works out to $121.85 US. Is this a good price guys, or is he charging too much? I appreciate your help on this, thanks. :-)

RE: Played Our First Game Tonightposted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
I’m still waiting for a phone call from my local game store! I’m in UK and I believe it has been released today. Absolutely champing at the bit for this title. Will post again as soon as I’ve picked up my copy… :|
