Hi IL. For what it’s worth, I already put my review for this new AA42 game on the British equivalent website, Amazon.co.uk, back in November.

Standard. Always. Total Victory just takes too long and besides, the losing faction normally concedes well before the end anyway, in my experience.

RE: Research and the alliesposted in Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition
She wants to pull out instead of push in and shes worried about the research behind the Daily 5 and the CAFE? All of the research says you push in - whether you make 95K or 9500
Eh? Sorry Utifori09, but I didn’t understand a word of that. :?

RE: Possible new rule book, and/or boxes with correct stuff?posted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
I wish Larry would take his great games to another company. I’ve had enough of COTC. :-(

RE: New Zealandposted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
I think it’s a very poor show to be honest. WOTC really should have put some kind of article on their website regarding all the problems with this game. Even if it was just something along the lines of “we’re aware of the problems and we are looking to fix them… etc”. I can’t believe their lack of care and support!

RE: Split income POLLposted in Axis & Allies Europe 1940
I voted no because I think it’s just plain daft. :-) United States should be able to spend her IPCs as she sees fit.

Oh wow, FMG, I love them! I’m personally not bothered about a 2nd Infantry sculpt; one’s enough for me. But yes, variety on the game map will look nice. Seriously can’t wait for this!

Hey, does anybody know what the little gold stars underneath our name and rank mean? I ask because I don’t know. :? Cheers guys.

RE: Edgar Allen Poeposted in General Discussion
Hi there,
I love his works, and while I’m not aware of any film having been made concerning his life, I can recommend an excellent book called ‘Black Plume’ by David Madsen. It is a fictional work based upon Poe’s adventures in America. A strong focus on his battle with consumption as well as a good look at the ciminal underworld. A must read! :-)
Thanks,
Loz

RE: Why is 1942 scenario so unpopular???posted in 1942 Scenario
Put it this way - I’ve owned AA50 since it first came out and my group have only just started our first game of the 1942 scenario two weeks ago! The '41 is that popular! However, it’s interesting because now nobody knows what to do in the '42 game - all sorts of blunders going on and lessons being learned. :-)

RE: When will the game become available for pre-order?posted in Axis & Allies Europe 1940
I’m with you skinny1. I won’t buy AAP40 until a corrected 2nd print has been issued. Does anybody know if this is in the pipeline? And I won’t buy AAE40 until the problem has been rectified. I’m sorry to Larry, but there we are.

Krieghund, do have any idea when the A&A1942 FAQ will be made available? Is it still being collated? Thank you.

RE: Can friendly's ride in other teams transports?posted in Axis & Allies Spring 1942 Edition
As far as I’m aware, this rule has been a standard in all versions of A&A…

RE: Can friendly's ride in other teams transports?posted in Axis & Allies Spring 1942 Edition
It doesn’t happen very often but yes, it’s a legal move. It’s a three step process:
Step one: One your turn, you move an Infantry onto your ally’s Transport.
Step two: On your ally’s turn he/she may move the transport to a desired location. (Or it may remain stationary)
Step three: On your next turn, you may unload your Infantry unit into an adjacent land territory. (Or it may remain on board, and disembark on another turn in the future if desired)
Hope that helps! :-)

RE: Question: Number of Players in AAE/AAP40 World Gameposted in Axis & Allies Europe 1940
I for one, would like to see the implementation of individual victory conditions. That way, you’re still trying to stop the other faction from winning in general but you have your own concepts of what is required for victory. It could mean less coordination between the powers in either faction - we could see belligerence and greed, and that would be nice! The spoils of war.

Oh my God, that is the best thing I have ever seen! Thank so much for posting this and sign me up for a pre-order! Praise be to Field Marshal Games!

Good work skinny1. :-) And thanks for the email address. I think I will send them an email of a similar nature, and I don’t even have the game yet! We must bombard them with requests/concerns/complaints; maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel!

RE: Movies to watch while playing AAposted in Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition
That ‘Come and See’ is amazing; I have it on dvd.
What about ‘Stalingrad’ or ‘Cross Of Iron’? Two of my all-time favourites!

RE: SIGN OFF HERE WHEN YOU GET YOUR COPY!posted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
Hmmm, it’s been tough but I think I’m going to give AAP40 a miss. If a second print/run is released in the future (with corrected rulebook, map, battleboard, IPC chart etc) then I’ll certainly pick up a copy. I’m sorry, I really am. It’s a shame.
