      Yeah,

I agree what we did was to put limitations on this we devised a system that works kinda like a golf handicap, based on you game ability. this determines how many NA’s you get if any. Also we decided that you can only use your NA’s so many times in the game.

Through the course of history (and even today) invaders / defenders made militia unit where ever they went. I like the idea that INF can spawn from where ever you want not to exceed the locations IPC index. To bad thats not a rule

      Hey Jen,

I would like to know how that 100% tank build goes.  :-D

I seem to be more comfortable with about a 50-50 IPC split with INF and ARM. For example:
      (15IPC = 5 INF) + (15IPC = 3 AMR)

Then every time you X that by 2 add  1 FTR. Thats what I feel gives me the most blood for the buck!

    • RE: Best Allied strategy

      Hey guys,

When playing as the allies I have found that you best bet is to (In order) use Russia to create a dead zone with germany brining there front to a halt.

As UK they have a two part goal:

      1. build a IC in India to give Japan hell in Asia as a method to delay there foothold on the mainland.
      2. Build a IC in S Africa this will be used to keep Germany from holding Africa by sending two tanks every turn to the front.

As the US build an Atlantic navy sending troop to Norway or to Africa to aid you Allies.

The key to win as the Axis is to expand rapidly. So as an Ally all you have to do is keep them contained until the US can send the death blow in Germany or Japan.

      Hey Frimmel,

Why do people use bidding to pawn off the Axis player?

      Hey,

In the end I think it boils down to what your up against. I was just wondering if any one had a scientific equation to combating an opposing Navy the way (from what I can tell) most of us use to combat land forces.

Thank you all for your input

Thank you thats exactly what I want to ask!

I would think you could break it down like you could land warfare into

      1. mobility, 2) Counter-mobility, 3) surviveability

As I was told when I was in the Army on ship “You make a piss poor sailor” How do you make it work? what strategy do you use to accomplish this?

      Hey All,

As you can all tell I don’t have a pic (nor do I know how to post one)

The first part of my screen name comes from a deep religious back ground I was raised in. I also got intrested in the topic when I was in the Army. when the war on terror started when we learned the big rub with Israel and its bloody relationship with their distant cousins (other tribes of Israel)

the 04 is the easy part my call sigh in the army always ended in 04 because I worked in the S-4 office. :-D

    • House rules

      Hey all,

This question isn’t vital in any way I’m new here and was wondering the following:

I have found several championships and diffrent leagues of play,

why is there a need for all the diffrent rule types?
Do they vary that much to need entirely diffrent sets of rules?

      Thanks for you input

    • RE: Watertown, NY A&A board game

      Hey,

Yeah I found Triple A. I had posted a comment in another area asking if players here like the A&A CD-Rom game VS Triple A. Are you familiar with the A&A game Hasbro made for WIN 95/98. Don’t seemed shocked about its age I had it when it first came out joined the army lost it got out of the army and found it at Best Buy late last year so its still around.

My preference is for the CD-Rom version. I like it better for navigating. Let me know what you think. sometime this summer when the roads are clear we’ll have to play FTF.

      Thanks

    • How do you lay out a good Navy plan?

      Hey All,

I have read miles and miles of text on how laws of land warfare work (both in the US Army and here) I have a good grasp and working knowledge of how to move land units and win. My question for an takers is how do you 1) build, 2) maintain, 3) deploy and engage a successful Navy wile keeping a moderate to high survivability ratio. Let me elaborate:

      1. Build: I know how to buy units thats not what I mean. In land warfare I buy INF to absorb losses. What do I use a fodder for a Navy?

      2. Maintain: any where a Navy goes it takes a few rounds to get there in force and just as many rounds to resupply losses. How to you compinsate?

      3. Deploy: after answering the above mentioned what are rules of engagement for a successful round of combat, wile only taking minimal losses? For example an INF only costs 3 IPC’s thats a minimal loss. A SUB costs 8 IPC’s thats a “minimal Navy loss” but even then they can’t respond to an Air attack.

I guess my big question is if you dominantly use SUBs as fodder you sacrifice your Navy’s well-roundedness to be able to respond to air attack.

Are there any takers on this complex situation, or am I making this harder then it has to be?

Thank you for your reply. Do you guys in Rochester ever play in person or is it all by email and computer?

P.S. What does FTF stand for?
