    • RE: Interview with Harry Larris

It’s our right as consumers to spend our hard earned money on whatever we please.  If we decide to buy inferior or broken products see AA1914 OOB, so be it.  But we also get the right to bitch at the designer for it!

    • RE: Larry Harris: Strategic Movements Mechanic

I see there is some debate as to calling it strategic movement or railroad movement but why don’t we just call it teleportation or ‘beaming’ like they do in Star Trek?

How in the world do you say this is the best WW1 game or a 10 out of 10 when only the allies can win?  Unless of course you are playing a wetrard!

ROFL!!!  Great Stuff.  We keep buying the games no matter how bad they are broken.  We’ve played around 10 times and the axis have never won.  Actually putting out a broken game is a way to sell more, when the 2nd edition comes out.

This is totally Wizards stratgey, see Pacific 1940 OOB.  Japan was unstoppable.

    • RE: 1

Yes a definite message is being given.  It is that a new revised 2nd edition will be coming out with some tweaks.  This way the AH/Hasbro/Wizards will be able to sell more product and increase there bottom line.

The other message is that despite having computer simulations and a virtual army of potential play testers (here)  the game still comes out broken.  I mean come on man.

Despite my complaing I like the game a lot; however, I would like to see what it takes to balance the game for the Axis.

      See my earlier post:

    • RE: Rate AA1914

I can see all of the CEOs over at Wizards of the Coast/Hasbro/AH on a yacht drinking and smoking cigars.  All laughing and patting each other on the backs.  “Great marketing strategy boys, give them an unplaytested game, at a high cost, with broken rules, then come out with a 2nd edition a year or two later, hahahahahahahaa, works every time.  Don’t forget about not including IPC money, battle boards or enough pieces, ahahahaahaha.  Pull”  Fires at skeet.  “Alfred poor me another scotch and have Jeeves pull the limo up to the dock”

When are they going to listen to the customers.  Wait I admit I’m a sucker and keep buying poor products.  I guess greed rules all in America.

The developers, play testers, and everyone involved with the A&A series should be ashamed of themselves.  For once do the right thing and put out a quality product.

    • Contested Territory Question

Lets say during turn one Germany attacks Poland and does not wipe out all of the Russians defending it; thereby creating a contrested territory.  First question, during the next turn the Austria Hungary player moves infantry into the territory, do they have to attack?  or can they just reinforce the Germans?

Next question, if they attack and manage to wipe out the Russians who takes control of the territory (Germans or AH)?

One more questions, lets say the Russians attack the AH and Germans and the Russians get wipeout, who would take control of the territory?

      Thanks

    • RE: 2nd Edition bid amount

What about a bid of zero?

I agree that if people play an entire game they will find that the allies are not as weak as they think.

    • J1 DOW doomed for failure

Those who base there strategy on declaring war early are depending on the allied player not wanting to play a long match.  They want you to throw in the towel in early rounds…keep playing and the allies will win.

    • 2nd Edition versus Alpha

Real simple, what are the ‘tweaks’ between the 2nd Edition and the latest Alpha rules?  Thanks.  Is it just the setup changes?

no bid is needed.  Get on triple and play some good players, game is balanced… i love the cry babies who want to bid for allies, I will bid zero and win with allies…play loki17 (me), RedTails, NapalmDeath, RaibowBright, Squidward… and you will get spanked…let me know when you want a tune up
