      @Locke888 When I first started playing G40, I created laminated cards for each power. One side features the initial setup (including unit cost, movement and attack/defense values), while the other has that power’s political situation, national objectives/bonus income and the overall order of play. I’d post them here for your use, but I can’t find the files. :angry:

      I know others have done something similar - check in Customizations. To cover basics, such as the phases of each turn, etc., it’s easy enough to produce your own “cheat sheet” and make several copies for the players to share. I’d also recommend printing out a copy or two of the Europe/Pacific 1940 2nd ed. index I’ve created and attached below, as it will speed up searches when questions arise (as they always do).

      @barney:

      As Panther says, he needs a saved game to diagnose what happened.

      Indeed, the scenarios mentioned have been working flawlessly for years and in countless games.
      The savegame helps identifying what happened in the specific game.

      @Locke888:

      where can I get these? HBG is out.

      They seem to be back in stock as of today!  Of course right after I purchased the large $79 set to get them. LOL

      I figured using them and French Flag Roundels would be a good “Colonial Troop” Marker for GW 36’.

      Its a great ruleset and some pretty nice miniatures. It ran for 7 years and went through 10 expansions before going out of production. There is still lots of the AAM stuff on eBay and etc

      As you can see nobody here is interested discussing the miniature game. Join this forum and find out anything you want to know about the miniatures game https://forumini.boards.net/

      We also have a really cool Army Builder and search engine for the game here, http://www.aamcardbase.com/search_AAM.aspx

      It is in absolute excellent condition. Played maybe 3 times.

      I picked up another copy of 2nd edition from Amazons boxing day sale for &30 CDN.
      You might keep an eye out for sales on major holidays like Memorial Day/the 4th of July/Thanksgiving/…

      Thrift stores are also good places for deals as are local conventions.

      Anyone ever switch it up?
      USA, Germany, Austria-Hungary, Italy
      At War with
      Great Britain, Russia, Ottoman Empire, France

      Starting ipcs 95-95
      Countries spaced apart good enough where no one has an advantage.

      Would have to add some pieces to USA for this.

      I know you are all history purists though but with the balance issue I keep hearing about I wondered if this has been tried just for fun.

      @Carolina:

      Just adding to clarifications, and please check out the FAQ and errata.

      Combat on land is just one round and mandatory.  However in a territory that is contested, combat is optional (for all players - even to players that just moved into that territory).
      Combat at sea is optional and can be multiple rounds (active player’s choice).
      Air units are free to move to any territory, unlike land units that have movement restrictions when starting in a contested territory.

      The Russian Revolution procedure may not be entirely clear - please check out other posts - or feel free to ask any questions.  (BTW - Big fan here too).

      Thanks.
      If Germany and France are in a contested territory and Great Britain enters that territory for the 1st time I thought they HAD TO FIGHT.?

      EDIT: I reread that part in the manual and it’s clear you are right. I gotta slow down when reading

      @Locke888:

      Question: can I buy something but not place it on the board until my next turn?
      My buddy bought 3 transports then proceeded to attack me with his navy but I wiped him out. Placing the transports on the board will just lead to me sinking them easily on my next turn since nothing will be able to defend them. Can he hold them until next round?

      No. He has to place them. Hopefully there’s more than that one IC to place them so they are not destroyed before his next turn. But he cannot “hold” them. They must be placed on the board. At least that’s how we’ve always played it.
