      Test

      The pic is from my phone which was 2.1mb.
      I emailed it to me and resized it to 900kb.
      Now the problem is it is a jpeg. I tried converting it to jpg but I dont have enough computer skills to figure it out. Sorry guys. Link on 2nd page works though.

      Moderator’s edit: Corrected the embed-link to show the image correctly.

      Hmmm, the link works and you can see it but how do I get it to show up here?

      Turned out well for me. Very functional, the map wouldn’t fit on poker table but setting this on top does the job. Extremely easy to do.

      I am just about done with my little project.
      I bought a 4x8 piece of 1/2 plywood and 20 foot of basic trim. I would have liked to have gotten trim with a nice design but it was all too wide. I ended up with a very basic 1.25inch trim.
      I cut the plywood 75inchx36inch, mounted the map in the middle, stained the 4 pieces of trim and screwed the trim on from the backside of the plywood.

      I didn’t go with a table because this will just lay on top of our poker table fine. I also wanted to hang this up on the wall. I’ll post some pics later after I get home. Nothing special about it but nice to have a one piece map finally.

    • RE: 1914 OOB map ( note twice the size of OOB)

      @Mukremin:

      i went to the shop, they only print max 1meter x 1meter… still bigger than the original map, could make good use of this printed map because smaller territories are bigger now :D a great success! with the extra cards and all it cost me 32 euros.

      1 meter =39”……39”x39” would be ideal for me.

      Let us know how it turns out.

      @siredblood:

      I have to go with yes, I didnt dare to try and scratch my actual board, but I did try to grind my nails into my test one, and nothing happened, while I can for sure tell you it damaged before without…. I cant speak for any success with other variables… but from what I printed on and the spray I used was a win.

      When I got my maps, I was told it dont scratch… so to varify we tried to scratch one of their demos… he was surprised how easily it scratched, thus why I got a free print to test to make it more resistant… but ya, you gotta clear coat it.

      Thanks for this info. I get my printed map on Monday. They said they don’t laminate either.

    • RE: Russia Question

      “No German units in originally Russians controlled territories without DOW”
      This should not be a house rule. This is common sense and should be in the rule book.
      Yeah yeah yeah it’s not there but neither are sharks with laser beams attached to their heads.

      On the pacific map U.K. and Anzac are Allies.
      On the European map Germany and Italy are allies.

      If Anzac attacks japan then the U.K. is at war with Japan also.
      If Italy attacks Russia then Germany ISNT AT WAR WITH RUSSIA?

      Common sense must prevail.
      Were going to need a 3rd edition with the new rules, and while we are at it, new sculpts, a larger map, new units etc etc  :-D

      @Locke888:

      If U.K. takes Norway can a neutral towards Germany USA land units in Norway? No.
      Why should Germany who is neutral towards Russia be able to put units in originally Russian territory?

      No way this should be allowed. Whats next, are we going to put zombies in the game?

      lol… because the territory isn’t Russian, its Italian.  It doesn’t matter who held it before, or who will hold it in the future.  Italy and Germany are allies.

      In your first example, the US is neutral to both the UK and Germany, so it can’t land on the UK’s territory, same as it can’t land on Germany’s.

      Ridiculous.
      If we are at war with Mexico and they occupied California there is no scenario where the United States would be ok with Cuba(who is neutral in this war) putting its troops in California.
      It would be an act of war. This cannot be debated.

      @Leatherneckinlv:

      In fact Russian and Germans are actually friendly Neutrals in this scenario

      If North Korea attacked and occupied Alaska then 2 days later China moved in 100,000 troops would that be an act of war against the United States from China? The answer is yes. IMO it is an illegal move by Germany unless they declare war.

    • RE: 1914 OOB map ( note twice the size of OOB)

      What are the dimensions of this map?
      Is it roughly 45”x45”?
      If I wanted to get this printed out at something like38x38 would it look ok? Sorry I have no experience in this so I have to ask.

      Great looking map. Better than OOB for sure

      @Locke888:

      Well it’s ordered. The 13oz vinyl(matte) felt really good.
      $67, in SoCal. I’m really glad I did this. Thanks to everyone for the advise.

      Let us know how it turns out… are you going to mount this map, or roll it up when not in use? Did someone recommend 13oz or 18oz to you? I know you ordered 13oz, just wandering if that was what was recommended.

      When I felt the 13oz vinyl I could tell it was very durable. Maybe even thicker than needed. No need for 18oz.
      We have a 10 man poker table but it isn’t big enough for the map…too bad, it would be perfect. I’m going to have to mount it on plywood. I definitely will not glue it down. Thinking of framing it in with ability to remove it. Doing this because I really would like to hang it on the wall when not playing

      Quick question to everyone that has a vinyl map….
      13oz vinyl is ok? Or should I go thicker, like 18oz?
      Going to a local print shop today and was quoting 13oz.

      When I got A&A revised the roundels were too thin. I ended up gluing them back to back. Germany/USA, Japan/UK….etc. worked really well.
