      The dice are the be all,end all of this game. The fate of the dice are like the unpredictability of real war. It creates the individuality of each and every game and strategy, no matter how well planned. besides who doesnt love drinking beer,rolling dice,and conquering the world on a Saturday night.

      I like the idea of extended non-combat movement via rail movment. this new board definitly would benifit from this. IL posted a thread about this and it makes alot of sense. If you think that this might cause an unfair advantige to one side or the other, what if bombers could be used to proform interdiction and by bombing rail lines stop or slowdown this type of extended movment for a turn or as long as that enemy bomber remains over that TT. Paratroopers could also disrupt rail lines.

      I let artillery and mech inf fire at air units. no other land combat units can fire back at aircraft. Old plastic anti aircraft guns from older AAgames are now Heavy Artillery.

      Its really not too complicated, I remember when rolling to detect subs seemed like a complication. but look what it added to gameplay.

      Alittle bit, depends if your game is checkers or chess. Adds alot of strategy in naval battles and you never know if the dice will let those tac bombers thru. i love that. playtest if you get the chance.

      On land only artillery and mech inf can fire back at FIghters and tac bombers. Tac bombers can pic targets every round of combat but if no artillery or mech inf present planes can only attack one round.

      What i do is give Tac bombers choice of target every round of combat, but defending fighters can target Tac bombers to nullify this. Also any ship that is tageted by a Tac bomber not enguaged in combat with a fighter gets a premptive AA roll. Balances out nicely. :-)

      In my house rules tac bombers(dive bombers,torpedeo bombers) always pick their targets.

      If you need to extend a table get a piece of 4x8 1/2 inch plywood. cheap and it works. to big to store it? cut it in half.

      each turn is 6 months

      IL, found a problem with this. If each turn is 6 months, that means transports crossing the Atlantic from E US to UK take 1 yr! Its even worse crossing Pacific ocean.

      I think fighters are too expensive comparied to tanks. loose all your fighters, they are hard to replace.
