    • RE: KJF KGF and KIF?

US 1, I place my builds in the Atlantic usually enough transports and one DD to take every ground unit from the continental US to the European theatre.

I consolidate my Pacific navy and poise them of Hawaii with all of my fighters and bombers there plus the AA gun from San Fran.

US 2  Build a CV, transports loaded with all Inf (total cost of 13 ipcs per) and 1 sub for pacific.

    • RE: Strait question

But in the rulebook it specifically mentions subs passing through the straits of Gibralter with out needing permission.  Is this the only exception or is this wrong in the rulebook?

    • RE: BIG GLOBAL GAME!(tomorrow) I NEED simple ADVICE OF ALLIES OR AXIS

for the love god France MUST be taken on G1

As the Allies take the french units FIRST.
If UK unit survive then you can attack N Italy with BEF remnants + some help from Alexandria / Egypt.
If you take it it Reduces the factory to a minor.
USA moves all ground units to Central US and build matching transports with a DD kicker.( I think that makes for 7 fully stocked transports)
Move pacific airforce to Hawaii and bring the AA from west us.

I don’t believe this was already discussed  if so my apologies.  Sea Zone 10 does not connect to anything on the other side of the map does it?
Look at page 32 in the rulebook.

Does not say anything about sea zone 10.

Don’t Forget Russia won’t even see those three IPCs as there is a “small” japanese navy in that sea zone that has a convoy raid marker in it.

While at war with ONLY Japan can Russia take “pro allied” or attack “pro axis” neutrals?

      Thanks

    • RE: Is A&A 1940 global really worth it????????

      Yes it is worth it.

      Europe 59.99 @ CSI
      Pacific  59.99 @ CSI
      Total    119.98

The War Game: World War II similar in size.  Initial Price point was similar.

    • RE: Tech question

My group was thinking of a house rules

      • add 5 ipcs per roll to target your technology as in AA Revised 2004
      • use the token system from AA50 but have to be at war to research
      • can only spend upto the amount of victory city each nation controls.  i.e. ANZAC has Sydney can only buy one researcher. Can also be used in conjunction with the research tokens.  The nation can never have more tokens than the amount of VC’s We are also talking about making capital VC’s counting as two but not sure

    • RE: USA Too many IPCs? Too much Power?

It gives the US a “gear up for war” income.  They would get FULL income if they were attacked

That was exactly what my thought was as well.  Even if you don’t use the split income concept the other ideas prevent the idea of instant armada without being at war.

    • RE: USA Too many IPCs? Too much Power?

Some ideas to make a more representative image of pre-war US

      • The US is restricted from technology development until at war.

      • US Major factories produce as if they were minor factories until at war.

      • Split income… bonus can be spent on either side.

      -  US collects income on a percentage scale unitle at war
          Turn 1 25%
          Turn 2 50%
          Turn 3 75%
Turn 4 Money like they had their own priniting press  :-D

    • RE: AAG40 FAQ

Thank you for the answer.  I have a couple more questions and I would like to apologize in advance if these are in the rule book (I don’t have it), but my game group missed it if it is.

India is split in two between the Europe and Pacific board.  W. India (I think that is what it is called) is on the Europe board but counts for the UK Pacific income, correct?

Italy and Russia both have NOs that talk about warships in the Med. or sz 125 respectively.  What exactly is the definition of a warship?  Does this include subs or transports?

If UK Europe falls, can UK Pacific “liberate” any of the territories on the Europe board and then collect that income?  I mean if the US liberates a UK Europe territory while London is captured, it gets the income.  I would think UK Pacific should be able to ‘liberate’ and collect UK Europe income too.

      Thank you

      a No
b ussr any warship–- anything but a transport
italy— any surface warship (transports and subs do not count)
c  ALL pacific income is only on the pacific board the same for atlantic.  If london falls then the only income is the pacific income to calcutta

    • RE: Global Homebrew Setup Charts

My understanding form Krieg was that Dutch territories are taken during the non combat phase by either ANZAC / UK as the other “pro” neutrals.

      Research development

      Can ANZAC research developments?

      Can France research developments?

Do you have to be at war to research?

      Thanks in advance……

    • RE: Please post when (and only when) you finally get your AAE40 home.

Got mine on 8/26(Buffalo,NY) from coolstuffinc.  However I am missing all of the Italian units.  Still waiting to play as the group doesn’t meet again till the end of September.

PS I still can’t see the color difference between the Italians and the Russians.  Except that the Russian were actually included.

    • RE: AAP40 FAQ

      More Dutch questions……

Can the Dutch territory only be taken durning combat by UK/ANZAC?

Again the situtation came up.  If the UK takes during combat can it land aircraft there on non com during the same turn?

Does the is also hold true for the French territories?

If  Japan is at war with China, UK/ANZAC (UK/ANZAC attacked) at the end of its third turn when can the US declare war on Japan?

    • RE: Big News!

I got my battlestrip after about a month.  It was slightly damaged from the tac bombers being shipped in the same package without any bubblewrap.  All that being said I HAD TO PAY POSTAGE DUE as they did not pay enough postage on my shipment.  Serious WTF.  It wasn’t enoungh to have me buy an incomplete game wiyh poor quality contol, making me nit have the proper equipment to run a game at a local college con(UBCON XXI). Newbees tend to need a battlestrip/battleboard.  The players said they enjoyed the game and wanted to buy a copy until I relayed the price tag.
Has anyone else had to pay postage due?

    • RE: Missing U.S. unit types

The P-38 was the pre-eminent fighter in the Pacific as its twin engines gave tremedous range.  The fighter did not function well in the European Theatre with the harsher climate as the engine were liquid cooled.

    • RE: AAP40 FAQ

Here is the current problem that my game is facing.

Dutch territories are allied with UK / ANZAC
Can you reinforce the territory with land units as either power without taking control?
When can you land fighters in those territories?  Same round as switches to UK / ANZAC as the island was already allied with them or do you have to wait for the next turn.

IE  J1 attacked UK and took several territories from me.  I wanted to land in Java (dutch) with 4 inf.  UK1 combat. move all UK fighters to Java same turn.

Thanks, would have called the chimps but I am low on bananas  :-D
