No, there is no Belgium, but there is a Belgian Congo, and that is what Dafyd’s question was originally about. Besides, historically, Belgian Congo was very actively involved, on the side of the allies, in both world wars. When Belgium fell to the Nazi’s in WWII, the Congo still fought on. They remained loyal to the Belgian government in exile in London. I believe that is why it has a UK roundel on Larry Harris’ 1940 map.

RE: Roundel questionposted in Global War
No, but, Belgian Congo means it is technically controlled by Belgium; hence the name. Like Spanish Morroco, if Spain is convinced to join the axis, Spanish Morroco would as well. It makes sense that the same would apply here.

RE: Historical Lend Leaseposted in Global War
I think what ghr2 is saying, is that since you can escort your lend/lease shipment, and it is attacked, does that qualify as an act of war, declaration of war, since you are now attacking the American warship(s) that are on escort duty.

RE: Roundel questionposted in Global War
The Soviets don’t have anything to do with it. Technically if Holland falls ( I believe the territory is Holland/ Belgium ) then , yes, the UK should be able to go in and take it over.

Then why does it match the one’s in Seville and Barcelona?

Set up questionposted in Global War
I don’t remember the sz, but, the BB that starts with the FEC navy, is that British or Fec? Doesn’t really make a difference, but since the FEC cannot produce BB at the start, the question came up.

Capital Questionposted in Global War
This has probably been addressed, but I cannot find it. When Moscow falls the Soviets deliver their IPC’s to the bank and then declare a new capital. The question is… What if Moscow is retaken by the Soviets and then falls again? Do they get to declare a new capital again or does the axis power that captured Moscow the second time get their IPC’s?

RE: Strict neutrals questionposted in Global War
@SS:
Yes, the Brazil infrantry can go into empty Neutrals but will have to fight the troops in Argentina and the money goes toward Anzac.
I don’t think any allied units are allowed to attack strict neutrals. You could only go in after they have fallen to an axis power.

Which happens first?posted in Global War
This has probably been asked before, but if so I have been unable to find it. When doing an SBR and a rocket attack, which happens first or are they simultaneous?

RE: Rules questionposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
Yes, you are wrong. The intent of the rule is that subs can only be hit by air units if a destroyer that is friendly to the attacking air units is in the sz. Why would a DD that is friendly to the sub or subs help the opposing air unit locate can kill said sub(s)?

War Bondsposted in Global War
This has probably been asked before, but I couldn’t find it. Since U.K./Commonwealth share the tech. developements, does that mean that all 5, if you play them separate, roll for war bonds once it has been developed?

RE: Activating Argentinaposted in Global War
Also, Argentina is considered an axis minor, not just pro axis. Argentina will generate 3 ipc’s, just like Finland or Hungary.
-
RE: Activating Argentinaposted in Global War
No. The way the rule is written, only Germany can activate Argentina. If you want to house rule it, then Italy could of course.

RE: Global 39 and 40posted in Global War
I agree with Dafyd. The bigger map is the only way to go. I have played on the map he made and it was such an improvement, having the extra space. I now own Tigerman’s 1939, and with the size and the addition of more territories it is the best map so far.

RE: Operation : Sea Lionposted in Global War
SS - You are missing my point. You can not move your navy out from the Baltic on the same impulse that you attack Denmark. So attacking Denmark on the first impulse would close the straights until the second impulse, then you could move your transport out to amphib Scotland.
-
RE: Operation : Sea Lionposted in Global War
The problem with this is that if you attack Denmark on the first impulse, the Danish straits are closed and you can not move your navy out to amphib Scotland. As long as Denmark is attacked on the second impulse or later the straits will be open on the first impulse for you to move through and amphib Scotland.

RE: Minor Axis Buildsposted in Global War
I didn’t know ther was a 7.2. I thought that 7.1 was the most recent. Can you provide a link to 7.2?

RE: Minor Axis Buildsposted in Global War
I think you may be missing my point. Since the axis minors have the ability to build without need of an IC, then it would stand to reason that they could build ships only with the naval base being required. It makes no sense to say you can build a tank or a plane without a factory, but, you need one to build a transport.
