I have noticed now for awhile that many references to A&A units as two letters such as CC or BB….
Can anyone list all the two letter id’s so that I can keep up with the posts better.

Let me weigh in on this topic.
The best strat for Italy’s survival is German troops in Rome and Naples to start with so that the Italian forces can move out more easily.
In my recent game… Germany built that “navy” to lure the UK carrier up to the north sea etc… so the med was clear after I1 so they got the Med NO.
Any more after that depends on where the factories are being buit…

Since USA can’t land in an Aliied tt prior to war etc… I must ask.
Can Anzac or UK land units in the P.I. for defense, prior to USA at war?

I saw this move against me in a game I played and could not find a rule against it.
The USA tranny from P.I. dropped a guy in Celebes to claim the IPC and help the UK NO’s.
Is this a legal move guys?

Ok, So I can only presume that when Russia declares on Japan on R1 that Korea is a gonner to 3 or 4 Inf. Which by the way puts pressure on Japan to retake it, as well as all the other directives they have for J1. Maybe some Tank/Mech combos heading east??? A plane or two?…
Any Russian strats out there?

Yes… all you Xeno guys are paying attention!
Not exactly verbatim but enough to get the flavor.
There is more to the Xeno Russian perspective but then we would be playing a different version and not Larry’s game.
By the way I had many talks with Frank Zenau (Xeno USA) and would love to hear a conversation between Larry and Frank on ALL these topics. For those that have not sampled World at War/Europe at War/Russia at War/Pacific at War… you have not seen true confusion until you tried some of those games.
I will say that since A&A 1940 came out I have little interest to go back and try the Xeno stuff again. Do not get me started on WAW online… after many years they are still in Beta testing!!!&^%$#^@^#&$%$(

Time to reveal a different path for Russia and how they could be played.

It has been written that Russia is unique, and as such is actually an un-cooperative ally. In truth this game could be called Axis, Allies, and Russia! Historically Russia gained vast territories and major concessions from the Allies as well as a defeated Axis!

In game terms… we have played at times…

1. That Russia never liberates a country or colony for an Allied player. The Russian player must keep whatever he recaptures or conquers.

2. No Allied Units are allowed to share the same area with a Russian Unit. Any time this happens all Allied Units are considered interned and removed from play. Russia collects from the bank 1 IPC for each Unit removed. This reflects salvageable materials

3. Russia may NEVER deliberately enter an area containing US or UK forces in order to expedite their removal from play etc…

So in this model the Russian plane could never intentionally land in an Allied tt to impede Axis combats!

Hey… got a question on German IC’s.
The setup list says that the two starting German factories are minor, is this correct or a miss-print?
Some of the forum chatter suggests that there is a major IC possibily there…

Having uploaded the Europe map… I see that indeed there are neutral spaces with IPC values.
Still strange that some do and some don’t… as in Mongolia.
