      @koba Good evening
      we have rules for weather like that: every round is approximately 3 months. In summer months there is the raining season in South America, Africa and Asia and in Winter severe temperatures in North America, Europe and Sovietunion.
      Tanks can not “blitz” during these rounds of play.

      I’ve been checking out the photos and progress of the Global 1936 play tests. It’s turn 10 and Germany and the USSR don’t look to be at war yet. Operation Torch looks like a go and the Japanese seem pretty much tied up.

      How many turns does this game go to? (or has this been figured out yet?).

      While browsing the expanded rules on the HBG site i noticed the Australian division marker rules. We will now be able to utilize division level units with these rules using the division markers provided by HBG. I started putting my order together but noticed there are no UK infantry division markers. Will any be produced?

      How is the Island Warfare expnsion coming along? Is it on schedule for release this summer?

      Will we ever be able to purchase resource markers individually or always in sets of ten?

      Yes,

      there should be some rule regarding the restrictions partisans place on enemy units. I like the idea of not being able to land aircra in territories where partisans are active. Maybe there should be a die roll to deteremine if restrictions apply.

      Yep, you should be able to knock out both their big fleets (plus the Canadian ships) G1 setting them back for quite awhile. With a couple subs here and there and the Luftwaffe you can keep them from building ships around England for a couple turns and they are forced to build a starter fleet off Canada. Even building off Canada isn’t to easy early on if the wolf pack is in tact because of the 1:1 detection ratio, and there is no airbase to scramble in Canada when they see your subs. It forces them to spend $ on ships, and less on resources elsewhere.

      Sub Pens were in the World at War Expansion for the Original Version of A&A. I beleive they cost 6 IPC and were3 built in one turn. I found the final updated rules that applied;

      6.11 Sub Pens:

      a) Moving into/out of a sub pen: For movement purposes sub pens are considered a part of the sea zone they are built in, and do not require a movement point to enter, leave, etc. For all other purposes, sub pens are considered a separate sea zone/coastal area unto themselves.

      b) A sub pen (and the subs within) can only be attacked by aircraft (follow 6.11 rules).

      c) Any other friendly or enemy ships have no effect on attacking, defending, etc with regards to the sub pen.
      Example: Germany has a sub pen with 2 subs in it on France, and a cruiser (all in the same sea zone). Britain decides to attack the sea zone with 2 battleships and a sub. Britain can only attack the cruiser since sub pens (and the subs within) cannot be attacked by ships. Germany defends with only the cruiser (the subs in the pen cannot assist).

      d) If the land area a sub pen is adjacent to is conquered by enemy forces, the sub pen is immediately destroyed.

      e) Sub pens fire each round, like an AA gun hitting on a 2 or less, against aircraft only. A Sub pen can hold up to 2 submarines.

      We.re seeing a lot of new markers etc. coming out of HBG lately (good work by the way). Are the HBG optional rules going to be updated to reflect the new stuff? (e.g. flak towers, bunkers, blockhouses etc.)

      The group I play with is integrating some the new rules and markers into our game. We like rail and will be using minefields (naval too) next game––if they come in time.

      While thinking on this more, this strategy would be really effective using the Radar option 1, Minefields (either oprtion), and Naval mines (either) optional rules. The use of these optional rules would make it a lot harder for the allied player(s) to “bypass” Japanese held islands in the Pacific.

      The islands may gain a much greater strategic importance and many of the historic battles (Midway, Tarawa, Wake etc.) might end up being played out.
