    • RE: Can allies win?

I put some on some other topics on the forum.

With Russia I usually buy eight Inf first

round. Then I set a trap for the axis player.

With Germany it all depends on the allied

player. Not just what Russia does but why

he does what he did with Russia and how

might the other allied units be involved in

the plan. I might plan a long war if I have

confidence in my opponent or I may have

already found your weakness. Judging by

the intelligence on this forum I would

consider most of you guys upper level

competition. Regardless of the level I

presume I never overlook my opponent or

underestimate him. I figure when I set up

a game with one of you it will take some time

so let me know who wants to set up a game

and we can attempt to set a game up.

We have to be realistic about the time a game

takes and it might be better to play on a

weekend but that depends on the other person.

    • RE: Favorite country

      I don’t have a favorite country. I prefer

being the axis though. The axis area a real

challenge against a solid opponent. I have

had some AWESOME defensive stands with the

axis and won many games that way.

    • RE: Wow i had a quick game

The axis are a powerful force if guided

correctly. The difference between the two

sides is that the axis are tuned more as a

knock out fighter. Where as the allies have

greater endurance. The key to being good

with both sides is altering what I just said.

Teach the axis how to fight a long war and

teach the allies how to throw a knock out

punch. I know this is rather general but I

find it easier to work out the detais myself.

You and only you can master your own plan.

Look at both sides from a broad persepctive.

    • RE: Radical U.S. First Turn Option

      I agree with a lot of the above answers;

However, You should have some sort of plan

if the heavy bombers don’t pan out. It sounds

to me that you would like to create some

hitting power with the United States. This

is good but it must be sustained. Most

axis players try to resist the U.S.

instead of going head to head with. Therefor

your hitting power may not be effective

enough from stopping the Axis real intentions

I wouldn’t say that as a rule the U.S. should

go after Germany first like many of the others.

Don’t get me wrong going after Germany first

is far from being a mistake it can be very

effective if the opponent becomes shocked.

The question all AA players should ask

themself is " How can I keep open as many

options as possible " Every round should be

played this way. Try this many times then

refine it over and over. Become a master

of general rules in the game. Like many

mentioned by the others here. " Defense wins

championships" this should be your goal with

      the United States.

    • RE: Can allies win?

Bottom Line is that I have never lost one

on one. All of your responses don’t shock me.

I have played games that have gone over 64

rounds. I have played games where the battles

include over 250 Inf and over 60 tanks not

to mention numerous aircraft. Things that

have kept my combat record alive are the

choices I make. When I play I have to be

in a specific mind set. I won’t play at the

drop of a hat. This is a game and because it

is a game I can choose to go to war at any

time unlike real Generals and soldiers so

quit acting like it is real and maybe you

will do better also. Patience is a virtue!

If you choose to respond to this try not

to make statements or ask questions that have

already been clarified because it becomes

redundant. I will do my best to accept a

challenge when I can spare the time with

school and all. To be more specific I play

the original version and the 2nd edition

rules. That is all that I play and all that

I will play. I don’t worry about my record I

just play the game. I could care less when

I loose I just find it amazing that many

people find it hard to believe that I haven’t

lost. Look forward to hearing from you!
