Yeah I am going to have to agree with SUD on this one. Always keep the threat alive with Japan but doing it is completely a different story.

Man you have missed something. WHat happens when your enemy desides to move all of his forces to Moscow. Then the British and the US send all fighters to Russia for defence.
Your strat has failed because you are simply trying to take russia out imediately which is impossible against a solid enemy. With the US you can purchase 3 fighters the 1st round and with Britain you can get two. If you play it out right you can have 10 fighters in Moscow with many Russian Inf.
This means you are good for one and only one attack your supply lines are stretched and extremely thin. Worse yet when you engage the odds are completely in your enemy’s favor. Plain and simple you’ll get
ROCKED!!!

Since we are discussing America, What do you

all think about the US using Canada as a land

The main difference that I noticed was in the infantry’s ability to attack. It seems as though the infantry on the cd version hit a lot more than on the board version when attacking. Does anyone else see this?

Maybe this was already mentioned but I find
the actual board to be completely different
than the CD version. THis could also change
your perspective on the game being equal/fair. What does everyone else think about that.

Sud, I am willing to work with you on these
issues. If you and Yanny are going to set
something up I will be glad to shed some
light and I agree that some of those strategies are BAD. I find myself completely ignoring the bad ones maybe I shouldn’t for the better of this site as you pointed out. Maybe we could talk about the importance of holding a territory. Many Newbies take a territory but seem to be confused about securing it. They may not even understand the importance of it. I guess we could start something that is rather basic and as we chat get more detailed. I think that this would work because newbies could throughly understand the basics and be able to adapt to more specifics.

We could get a lot more in-depth. I think

Sud has a point here. However, I am not
offended by the rookies that come on to this
forum. They get excieted about the game and
therefor could turn out to be long term players. All in all they might help spread the word about the game making it more enjoyable for everyone.

Sud you certainly amaze me! What you just said sounds like an echo. I think many of the others have caught on…. Why don’t you?
It sees to me that you are narrow minded and
possibly can’t comprehend what soemones real intentions were. Think about why I choose to come on this site like I did. You seem to be getting a little bent out of shape for such a small prize. In my book I agree with “everyone loses” and that the best can be beat. You are right when it comes to this
no argument there. However, Once again…
What were my real intentions to coming on this site? I’ll help you out a little bit because you seem to be behind the game on this one. LOOKING AT THIS SITUATION FROM A DIFFERENT POINT OF VIEW (hopefully you do this when you play Double A because you certainly haven’t done it here) I came on this site for one reason only. Not to keep my streak alive but to loose and to play other people. So my advice quit worrying about something that is so insignificant.
Plain and simple I came to this site to play
upper level competition. I sure have reached
my objective FAST. I hope you have reached yours.

As I have stated before lets not debate over

an issue like this. Why not see what Patton

thought about Rommel?

You see if Patton himself believes this

and so do most experts/historians why

even debate it? However, Patton was an

awesome leader so I respect your passion

Hey Patton-

I don’t recall Patton kicking the crap out
of Rommel. However, Patton did read Rommel’s book on
Tank warfare. You are going against the grain
on this one.

If the allies are going all out Germany than
they might have some difficulty going after
the fleet. However, If they are going after
the fleet and it is a priority to the allies
than they are sacrificing “GOING ALL OUT
AGAINST GERMANY”. Therefore they had better
have a different plan than trying to knock Germany out quick. If the Americans and Russians are the only ones attacking the mainland of Germany than the Germans can hold out long enough for Japan to crush the
Russians. If the allies objective is to knock
the German fleet out so that they can capture
Africa then they are playing a long drawn
out game. Which means that a quick strike
on the Fatherland by the Russians and Americans will fail. All three allied powers
can only smash Germany if they ALL go after
the heartland. What other things is your
opponent doing? Maybe he isn’t going all
out against Germany he could be doing something completely different. I eagerly
await your response……

I agree I really can’t suggest any advice

if I can’t understand what you are saying.

The game we play will take months I hope

you guys are willing to play that way. With

school I will have to limit a game to two

hours a week. Any problems with that? Get

back to me.

What does everyone else think about this

game master? Why do we need a third party?

Sorry but you will have to get in line I have

a few people knocking on the door. I

promissed one guy on this forum and a few

others first. I would like to get input on

some rules that you and everyone else would

like to play by. I couldn’t tell you when we

could set a game up college takes up most of

my time and work. OOps I typed double space

again I am use to it in school. Well just

send me the email you want me to contact you

thru.

I think that it would be a good idea for anyone who

wants to post something to do it with a name behind it.

Okay,

First off I really didn’t plan on using my

first response to boost my ego. My thought

was that maybe if you learned something so

well it could be that successful for you in

life. What I mean is could understanding the

limits of this game give insight to being as

good as possible. It is something that we

all strive for in life (getting good). So

that is why I play the game. It might help

to know who I am talking to though.

Getting to the AA guns and the other issues

I usually only purchase AA guns with Russia

or Japan. As far as industrial complexes go

I never buy them. I think they can make a

player loose command and control. Tech rolls

are also not a good idea. The reason I don’t

do any of these is because you increase your

odds of lossing. To be a solid player in this

game you must be able to read tempo, and

be able to fight any style, pace, or obstacle

an opponent may be able to come up with.

As noted before I suggested that many players

on this site have made good progress by

suggesting to other players that the allies

should go all out Germany. One flaw with this

strategy…… You commit yourself to one

style of play. That style of play is FAST

Paced. You are simply trying to overwhelm

your opponent. Lets look at the supper bowl

for example. The rams were fast paced, high

octane and whipped people. They almost

appeared unbeatable. Then they played a team

that adapted it’s style. The patriots did

the unexpected they used 7 defensive backs

instead of the standard 3 or 4. So what I am

trying to say is think outside the box. There

are many ways to win a game but what is the

most universal? What is the most successful?

Yes I can be beaten but I use all of the

elements that are present in the game. That

is why I have success.
