Obvious, the Dutch will also appear on the global board with it’s historical strong, huge navy. I guess three battleships, 2 carriers and 15 subs :-D

Mechanized infantry attack with 2 if paired with artillery. Should be logical IMO when the Mech Inf. can carry the artillery with them 2 spaces too. But this is not the case, I guess…?

RE: China too weakposted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
Yesterday I played my first game as “Allies” and won. We always play “lowluck”, but still I had the luck the Japanese - after a great agressive turn 1! - in wich they killed UK swiftly, went for Anzac and failed to take out both the Chinese and Anzac.
My intention at the start of this game was to pump US and Anzac fighters into UK and China for defense. This plan horribly failed. I could only bring fighters to Siam or Malaya (from airbase at Queensland), but this was/is not safe at all.
How to solve this? How can the allies get these planes to UK safely? Built an airbase in east Australia (what’s the territory’s name?) so fighters can fly directly to India…or what?

RE: Kill USA Firstposted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
I admit the chances to be unsuccessful seem to be overwhelming in this strategy…
But, if you would try it, then you should go for it all the way. Meaning; neglect everything else - including Australia - and send all you got to USA.If you succeed, there’s no problem recapturing everything Japan lost.
Once USA’s capital is taken, bringing UK and Anzac to their knees is just a matter of time…en limburg is inderdaad een eind! Groet aan allemaal. :-D

Hello Tavenier,

RE: Kill USA Firstposted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
We will free this thread if Larry gives us the military power (we prefer the color orange) to defend our Royal Dutch East Indies.
If this is not done within 24 hours we - the holy dutch - will have to send our marines to WOTC! :evil:

Inderdaad, hup Holland hup. Jij Putten toch? Misschien een keer live spelen Frontovik? En dan plaatsen we lekker een hoop nederlandse soldaatjes op het bord, lekker puh! :-D
Back to topic;
In a Kill Usa First strategy, meaning > really taking the USA capital (so I’m not buying subs) you would for sure lose Asia, because all units are needed to break the U.S. Imo it’s possible to get all planes, ships (+ new bought transports) in reach by turn 3. Japan should buy 7 transports in the first 2 turns. Eventhough the chances for succes are slight, the japanese airforce could make the difference…. -
Kill USA Firstposted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
What if Japan goes completely after USA. Is it thinkable the overwhelming starting power of Japan can break USA and take it’s capital after some rounds? Any ideas out there?
Or is this plain stupid, not worth any discussion?

RE: Rules Q&Aposted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
Can a sub fire on lone transport if the 2 powers are not at war? if it can, is it a declaration of war? If so, would this still be true of a USA sub and Jap transport? Although the USA cannot attack until it is at war, it seems in this situation it is more of a defensive “attack” than an offensive one.
A power other than the US would be able to do this under any circumstances. The US would not be able to do it, however a combat movement by Japan that resulted in a state war with the US would free the US to respond in this manner.
…
I hope this does not mean on J1 the Japanese sub can wipe out the lone transport at Hawaii, without causing war with the USA? -
RE: Rules Q&Aposted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
Just to be sure….
I guess it’s possible for the USA to built a minor IC in FIC, if recaptured from the Japs and controlled by them.
Correct?

RE: Scramble from airbasesposted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
A Question about scrambling fighters;
Can/do allied fighters scramble together? For instance, Japan attacks the US fleet in the Hawaii seazone. On Hawaii there are US and ANZAC fighters. Do they scramble together, or are the ANZAC fighters excluded from this fight?
Hope someone can shine a light on this…

RE: Question about Political Situationposted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
Does that mean it’s thinkable (I know it’s not logical, smart, wise and/or strategic at all) that UK & ANZAC are not going to war during the hole game?? When USA attacks, Japan can retaliate without provoking UK & ANZAC . Correct?

RE: Rules Q&Aposted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
I can’t find the answer to this;
When a battleship is damaged (once hit & flipped on it’s side), does it then lose it’s ability to conduct shore bombardment or not? I guess it will keep that ability, because I can’t find text in the rulebook claiming otherwise. If that is indeed the case, this would be incorrect in my opinion, because a damaged carrier does lose abilities…
Could someone help me out?
Thnx
