ok, thanks. One other quick question as this came up in my last game. If Japan takes Los Angeles to capture 10 cities for a major victory, does the game end there, or does the US get a chance to fight back and maybe take back the city??

Can you do this?posted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
Can say USA, when placing their newly purchased units, place them in a UK or Russian territory that has an IC in them?? or do they have to place them in their own territory?

RE: Allies questionposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
aha… that is what we have been doing wrong. we thougt you always get a chance to fight back, even if you were hit… So subs are good for attacking, but very weak against an air attack…

RE: Allies questionposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
cool, thanks. One other question… Can you attack a sub with a bomber or fighter?? or can it only be attacked by another ship of some kind? and if it can be attacked by a plane, I guess the same rules apply where if you miss with your first shot, the sub can submerge.

RE: Is Russia always doomed?posted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
i just dont see how Russia could “bleed Germany dry”?? russia has very little money and German has a lot!! Germany keeps buying tanks and simply runs over russia Inf at will too quickly… Russia can only defend itself for a short time and where does the allied help come from? a D-day invasion? UK air raids? I know I am a rookie at this game, but it always seems russia can’t hang on long enough to Allied help… never happens when My opponent loves buying Tanks for Germany and steemrolls over russia almost every time…

Is Russia always doomed?posted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
I’ve played 3 games recently and every time, Russia was blown out of the game within the first 5 or 6 turns?? they are just at such a disadvantage with little $$ and options and Germany is so strong to hold off and Japan coming from the east. how do you guys keep Russia in the game?

axis_roll
I understand that…(and it was funny) I was just taking the opportunity to bust on myself… :-D I could have phrased the question a little more intelligently…i don’t think anyone here is rude at all. Actually, everyone takes the time to answer all of our “newbie” questions without any complaints… It’s a great forum…

Canal questionposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
Can you please explain how the Canal’s work? Can anyone go through them at any time? or are there rules here? i searched the directions and can’t find anything. Thanks.
Oh, also, I assume the world is round so you can say go from the sea below Eastern Us and end up below Western US in 1 move?

RE: How do you counter KJF?posted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
Wow, I never really looked at it that way… Thanks!!! I’ve been buying tanks left and right and hardly ever purchase Inf… you really make a good point…

RE: Have you ever pissing your opponent off with BBposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
ok, so what was he talking about when he said use battleships to attack a lone inf. in the soloman islands?? can you do that if you don’t have a transport with you?
-
RE: How do you counter KJF?posted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
Many of you guys have mentioned building lots of infantry for Russia or Germany… Aren’t Tanks a better way to go?? Sure, they cost more, but they attack and defend at higher roll counts…plus, they can move 2 spaces…

RE: Have you ever pissing your opponent off with BBposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
Wait a sec. I thought Battleships (I assume that is what BB stands for) cannot bombard land unless it’s part of an amphibious assault, and even then, can only fire once??

Unit placing questionposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
Hey,
If I’m Germany, can I place one of my purchased battleships next to a land area with an IC that is owned by Japan?? or does it have to be a land area controlled by Germany. -
RE: Japan Strategyposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
I am playing the axis now, and my strategy was the northern route through russia. I kept bringing forces to the mainland and bought 2 IC’s to load up on tanks. I then proceeded to destroy Russia. They are no longer part of our game now… Germany is also still very strong and UK is within my reach. However, USA has started an invasion into the Soviet Far East, so I will hav to regroup all my Japan tanks and artillary and head east to meet them. Should be interesting.
I might be missing the boat here, but I don’t see the importance of Australia?

Transport placing questionposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
I hope you can settle an argument I am having. If the US purchases 7 transports, don’t they follow the same rules as say placing tanks, in that they can’t place the transports in a sea zone next to land where the IC value is only a 3??

RE: Sea zones 5 & 6 questionposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
one other quick question please… when a bomber or fighter attack a ship in the sea, do they get unlimited shots??
