    • I think i have an idea of what we can use for Airbase peices.

      Ive been looking everywhere to try and find replacements for the cardboard pop-outs they gave us and i found 3 ICs and an AA Gun from my long lost original version. I know FMG is apparently making replacements but they’ve been working on the Italian pieces for over 2 years now? I’m not bashing them in any way, they work hard and have high quality pieces but i don’t want to wait a decade for pieces that i don’t even know what they look like.

      I’m going to get more IC and AA Guns but there are 2 colors: white (original) and grey. Ive never personally seen the grey pieces so i don’t know what shade they exactly are and if they are the same exact mold as the very original IC & AA Guns. ( if someone knows that would be greatly appreciated. Are they the same grey as the chips? )

      Ok. About the airbases. HBG has strictly neutral re-paints of some pieces. One of them is the British fighter ( same as displayed on the cut outs. they are ordered mixed with American fighters so I’d have to email him to let him know i would like British fighters only.) and they are only slightly larger than the cut-out so i think that is a good choice.

      For naval bases on the other hand, i was thinking of a neutral transport painting but they are too big. Ive looked ALL over the web and cant seem to find any thing that can be used as a Naval base or be a better representation of an air base than those fighters.

      I know Litko has plastic chips that represent them but i want actual peices.

      if anyone knows of some site or anything i can use to represent Naval bases please let me know. Ive done lots of searching and came up with nothing.

      It would be inoperable i would assume ( 4 or more dmg )

      and does Heavy bombers apply to tactical bombers?

      You do. I’m actually going to take out the changelist on those papers and put the full new deployment. Looking at the box then paper back and forth is stupid lol

      I like the new AA Guns.

      BTW I just made sheets that I can print out for every power that has their starting IPCs, their DOW rules and who thery are at war with, their NOs, the current turn order and a change-list like I mentioned above so u can use the OOB setups with these sheets and adjust the deployment according to the sheet. Its nothing fancy I just made them on microsoft word but I find it helps new player and people unfamilliar with the new rule sets ALOT.

      How would I upload these sheets so everyone can look at them, and if they think they are worthwhile, print them out and use them.

      I won’t be able to upload today and the most part of tommorow though

      The part that I don’t get is those changes are not hilighted in red or green in the alpa 3 forum on Larry’s site. Can it be because he retyed alpha 3 rather than change alpha 2 ( you can tell because alpha 3 is worded differenly ) he accidentally changed the NO and its still the same as alpha 2 because it isn’t marked in red/green.

      I really don’t want to look for non highlighted rules looking change

      alpha 2: Collect 5 IPCs per turn for EACH of the following territories, Novgorod (Leningrad), Volgograd (Stalingrad), and/or Russia (Moscow) controlled by the Axis. Theme: High strategic and propaganda value.

      alpha 3: 5 IPCs per territory if Germany controls Novgorod (Leningrad), Volgograd (Stalingrad), and/or Russia (Moscow). Theme: High strategic and propaganda value.

      nothing was marked in red or green showing that there were no changes from 2 to 3. but there are. did he just type it too quickly and we follow alpha 3 or we have to pick out the new hidden stuff in the poorly worded alpha 3?

      if so would this apply to all the hidden changes in alpha 3?

      wow ok sweet now i get it! alpha 3 on his site is just alpha 2 with the changes listed in a different color. i thought those were the OOB rules changed thats why i was so confused. thanks alot.

      I just recently got global so im still learning the outdated rules. If someone has an actual changelist that would be so helpful. on Larry’s site he basically reposted all the rules and and they are changed from alpha 2. A changelist that showed all the changes from the box edition directly to alpha 3 is what i mean.

      simpe and to the point. no need to repost stuff that is already on the box. For example, if Germany has 3 inf, 2 tanks and a fighter on the box. and in alpha they have another fighter and one less inf, on the list it would show:

      Germany: +1 fighter, -1 inf

      so it being simple allows people to create their own simple aids.

      another example for AA guns:

      AA guns: Multiple AA can now fire from a single territory, AA guns can be taken as casualties, AA guns that are attacked with no other defending units with them are instantly destroyed.

      Larry’s site is just confusing me way too much. does someone have a changelist or can understand his site post changes here so i can create a changelist, or create a changelist themselves?

      I take control of midway and im playing as Japan. there was no combat because midway was unoccupied. this is still a declaration of war against USA? im very sure it is

      what i mean in question 2 is:

      i have a mech. inf. ( i chose them  in this example because they are not tanks and can move 2 ). i move him through an unoccupied enemy territory and stop in another unoccupied enemy territory. do i gain control of the first enemy territory i passed through?

      this was never specified in the rule book. but they explain blitzing. if i do gain control of the first territory then why is the blitz even in the game ??

    • 7 Questions i need help with because the rulebook sucks.
      1. are you able to fight with units then load them in a transport during noncombat if the transport is in an adjacent sea-zone to the territory they are in? ( does loading/offloading count as movement for the units being loaded/offloaded? i know it doesn’t for the transport.)

      2. I know a transport can load 2 different units from 2 different territories in the same SZ or while traveling through different SZ, but cant drop in to different territories in the same SZ. can it, while traveling drop 2 different units into 2 different territories in different SZs?

      3. If a tank blitzes into 2 unoccupied enemy zones, it captures both. but if a tank that has not blitzed moves through 2 unoccupied enemy zones, it only captures the territory in which its movement ended on. correct?- so if a mech. inf. does the ladder and does not have a tank to blitz with it only captures the second zone it stopped in.

      4. Islands that do not have air bases on them ( there’s some in the pacific i don’t remember their names ) can have planes land there? any amount of planes?

      5. carries only allow 2 small air to land? if their is 3, 1 is lost. correct?

      6. do carriers give a +1 to movement of air units taking of from it ( like an airbase? )

      7. Subs are the only unit that cant hit air? - my friend was saying it doesn’t seem right that artillery and tanks can hit air. Im pretty sure subs are the only unit that cant hit air just for games sake, but realistically i cant see inf, tanks and artillery attacking fighters lol.

      well i just got the older Pacific and Europe yesterday. i guess ill just print off the new rules when they come out ( tomorrow supposedly )

      I dint know AA42 had higher quality pieces. That’s interesting.

      AA50 is faster than AA Global but I don’t mind global being longer.

      By the time I edited my last postyou already posted bout the chips lol.
      Ill check out AA50 online.

      To me Global seems like the face of AA, the most ultimate and the full version of the game. I don’t know if you guys would agree due to Imbalances but thosebare being solved. So I don’t really know what all the fuss about AA50 is besides being limited edition and being composed of higher quality parts. But you get less game…

      Ok cool if the board us not going to change then I’m going to buy AA1940. So they’re probably just going to change initial deployment and rules. I thought there were a bunch of people complaining about certain territories and/or income on some territories.

      I originally thought you meant actual poker chips until I realized u were talking about the small ones you you put under the units to represent how many there are. LOL I was thinking you meant like casino size poker chips lmao.

      Ok so ill just print out all the rules when they come out then.
