      Location A belongs to German forces, and has an airbase on it. British ships are in a sea zone neighboring Location A. American ships amphibiously assault Location A and Germany scrambles in response to this. Do British ships fight against the German planes as well or only the Americans

      Also, if the airbase is strategically bombed, can the fighters still scramble?

      Since the Chinese fighter is technically American, is it affected by American technology?

      Also if the UK gets war bonds as a technology, who gets the money received?

      For most pieces in 40k, it’s 20mm, then HQ’s are usually 40mm. Depends on the specific units though. Pieces like the Tyranid Carnifexes are bigger.

      Planes can makes a combat move under the assumption that they have a place to land.

      However, does this count if a carrier has to move into combat to provide that lancing place under the assumption they win combat?

      Better explanation:

      Carrier and Cruiser move 2 spaces to sz 1, engaging a Destroyer. Fighter moves 3 spaces to sz 2 to attack Transport. Its only possible landing zone is if the Carrier survives combat in sz 1.

      Is this a legal move?

      I’ve tried to help two of my friends with installing this module into abattlemap. They put the unzipped folder in the abattlemap folder the same way as I did, however when they open abattlemap, the new map doesn’t show up in the list with the ones that came with it. Any solutions?

      Mere minutes ago, in an alpha+ game with my dad, the German fleet and air force attacks the British fleet.

      The Germans move in with the odds, 3 submarines, 4 fighters, a cruiser, a tactical, and a strategic.
      The British defend with 2 destroyers, 4 cruisers, and 2 scrambled fighters.

      The Germans hit 3 and take out the destroyers and a cruiser.
      The British hit every single roll and cripple the german air force and navy.

      Needless to say, he’s not too happy and I’m ecstatic.

      @Krieghund:

      Naval bases may only be built in territories that are adjacent to sea zones.

      :roll: So I was wrong on a totally meaningless rule!

      Betcha can’t buy more than one base per tty either, right?  :roll:

      kdfsjljk… Just buy extra AA guns at the new discounted price of 5 IPC’s (per Alpha +.2 anyway) and stockpile them in the same territory where they would be redundant.  That’s a good way to show off.

      Here’s a better idea: spend it on as many factories as you can buy. For example, japan can buy a minor for each Chinese tt, the US for Alaska, Mexico, and Brazil, UK for Egypt, Persia, Ontario, Scotland, West India, and malaya, Germany for its European holdings and Russia for all its Southern 2 ipc tt.

      The point is for it to be pointless though. IC’s aren’t. Unless I put one in greenland. That might work.

      For the situation of “I have lots of money and am rubbing it in”, can you buy a naval base for a territory with no adjacent sea zone? My friend and I have a tradition of trying to outdo each other with useless buys when we’re going to win and have lots of unnecessary money.

      @Slacker:

      Clarification time: For some reason I had it in my head that France does not surrender its IPCs when captured by Germany. My buddy and I started an Alpha+.1 game on Saturday and while rereading the rules I couldn’t find anything special about France anywhere. Did I make that up somehow?

      Yes you did make it up.  Capital conquest rules remain unchanged.  All IPC’s are always surrendered to the conqueror when a capital is lost.

      It’s especially important that France’s IPC’s are surrendered to Germany. They need that early boost.

    • RE: Use for Erie?

      Could be a good idea, but more often than not by the time the US could get a transport over there to land men on Eire to claim it, they would bring with it a large enough fleet to protect the UK fleet in the english channel, which is a more useful sz at that point.

      @calvinhobbesliker:

      @Daedelus:

      Russia can declare war on Germany if Italy delares war on Russia.

      But by then, Germany will have already collected its 5

      True, but the whole point of this thread is to ask if Germany can move into Russia WITHOUT declaring war on Russia if Italy has already moved in. They won’t get that bonus because then Russia will declare war on Germany anyway.

    • RE: Odd politics question

      To be fair, Russia would probably then declare war on Russia to deny them the bonus and get their own if 125 is free, but if they choose not to, then go for it.

      @gamerman01:

      @kdfsjljklgjfg:

      Since the UK and France are allied, India can move into French Indo-China, I assume. Since Japan’s 10 IPC alpha bonus requires them to not invade indo-china, what happens if the UK puts men in indochina and Japan attacks them? Do they forfeit their bonus even if the UK started war with Japan first?

      Seems they would.  The rule is they lose the bonus if they attack FIC.  Period.  They’re still taking French land - that’s a pre-emptive invasion of French territory, is it not?

      Just wanted to make sure.

      Also, I’m pretty sure it’s still a no because it involves multinational attacking, but it’s good to ask:

      A german navy sits outside England. UK places a sea unit in that sea zone after their turn. It doesn’t participate if the US attacks that German navy on the same turn, does it?

    • US Vs World

      Assuming the US starts the game at war with everyone, gets a one time 50 extra IPC’s off the start to spend like a bid to make up for how bare they are compared to the UK/Japan fleets, goes first, and has the OOB national bonus, how long do they last?

      The separation of powers really works in their favor, considering Germany has no navy, UK has little land forces, and Japan has a long way to go.

      @Krieghund:

      @kdfsjljklgjfg:

      Can fighters scramble if enemy ships are moving through an adjacent sea zone that has no allied ships in it?

      No.  They may only scramble in response to an attack in the sea zone or an amphibious assault being launched from it.

      To counter a scramble, then can the person launching an amphibious assault combat move planes into the empty seazone where it’s being launched from, or would that not be a legal move since they’d be combat moving where there may not even be combat?
