the guy i play against always builds a IC in France G1.  then G2 he builds a navy in the med to hook up with Italy’s navy.  he amasses a huge navy in SZ13, which is troublesome.  from there he can attack caucasus or london, or head for africa.  so i let him build it, while i stock pile men and fighters in UK, and build a fleet and tanks in SAF.  the USA sends fighters and bombers to UK, and bothers JAP in the pacific. meanwhile russia gets her poop in a group, and starts to harass GER from the east.  the axis navy in the med just keeps me from getting to loose.  keep things tight, and it is just a matter of time before GER looks kind of barren, or overrun with Ruskies.

i like it.  it has cost me a few times, but its a keeper.  though subs should be able to stop a transport, imo.  maybe a new tech could be that transports could defend at 1, BB have AA, etc.

howdy to you dakota yoda and admiral thrawn.  someday we may have to arrange a game at gavins point dam.  do some fishin, some drinkin, and a little war in between it all.

as the allies i would love to have a factory in france.  seems though everytime i take france, the italians or the germans take it right back.  i surely would not want to buy the germans a factory to use in destroying the allies.

ok, another sub question.  if i attack a loaded carrier with 2 subs, do the fighters get to shoot back on defense, or is a defending destroyer need to be present for the fighters to hit my subs?

I dont like LL either.  LL is for people who have no luck.  I have luck, just more bad than good.

wow, i heard they were not making any more, so i wanted to buy a second one.  i called all around and found only 2 in town.  so i bought one, now i plan to keep one put away, or maybe sell it on ebay.  $130 on ebay now.  wait a few months and it might be worth more than gold.

has anyone noticed that on russia’s card it is Yakut S.S.R., but on the board it is spelled Yukut S.S.R. ? check your boards, maybe mine is special.

heres what i got, seems to be working. 
R1-send all men from Karelia to finland, with 1 tank from Archangel.
    send as small of force as possible, only inf, art, the ftr & the bmbr, to East Ukraine
UK1-send cruiser and transport with 1 inf 1 tank from east canada to norway
      send bomber and fighters to norway
      buy 1 or 2 destroyers and place in sz 6, save rest of money
US1-take back sz53. if transports in sz10 survived, send them to sz1, and all land units from east US to east canada.  they will go to norway US2.  move planes where needed, UK probably.

mind you, the germans in this game had some tough dice rolls - they lost badly in egypt, and they put a IC in france. and they took Karelia(but thats what i wanted).  i plan to put a UK IC in norway, with the russians and US helping defend it.  lemme know what ya’ll think.

I have tried the norway IC several times.  it is nice to be able to put 3 units there every turn.  once i went with planes and UK had a hard time keeping boats in the water.  But EVERY time, US and UK bombed the hell out of it, and the US just LOVES to take that IC away from Ger.  if US keeps that IC, its bad news for GER.  i hope you have better luck with it than i did.

i dont know about pittsburgh, but here in omaha, you can go to some of the comic book stores and get a group going on weekend afternoons.  if you can drag people away from those trading card games.

thank you darth and jen for explaining that.  i dont think i like it, though.  i like the “luck of the dice”.

i have seen some people mention LL.  what is it and how does it work?

wow very nice.  makes me want to paint mine.  sure would make it easier to distinguish between russian and italian forces.  the friend i play with is color blind and sometimes he has a hard time seeing the difference.  nice work.

i always play the same friend in AA50.  we play 3 game series’,  i will be axis for three games of 41, then i am allies for 3 games of 41.  then we switch to 42 and do the same.  we have played 4 games of 41 with me as the axis, and i have yet to win one.  we play with NO’s and tech, although he never spends the money on tech where i do on occasion.  what i need is some help to put a stop to this losing streak.  i always try for egypt first round, and i always end up with Karelia.  i need some suggestions on what to do with germany and japan, seems like i do pretty good with italy.  thanks.
