hello fellow customizer’s and enthusiasts,
So finally received my HBG british supplement units to my excitement today. Unfortunately, one of my sterling heavy bombers is bent and twisted bad :( does anyone know how too fix reshape this, or has had this issue in the past? If I don’t have a heat gun, what other alternatives are there? I don’t want too mess this piece up because you only get two of the sterlings and it is my favorite piece in the set.

are you able too get a clearer shot of some of your nose art decals? the Enola gay turned out sharp but it is hard too see the others
dude! these are so awesome! I have been waiting for someone to post some of shapeways b29’s too see the detail and scale. What scale did you order? and were did you find those sweet decals! even a Enola gay decal to scale man very cool!
love the colors of your fighters and tacticals! pulling out some browns in there with the blues really look great. Great job throughout, did you use references for those camo colors or did you pull them off the top of your head? I hear ya about HBG…it has come too the point were I just cant check out there site anymore cause I want all those expansion sets on my table! Ill just have too wait for the email to come out that they are in stock
sounds like a great weekend too me! these all look awesome and exciting to get out on the board! what did you use for those Russian carriers? and the Italian carriers, looks like you didn’t use the second edition aquilas? all very nice, some painted planes would look sweet on those decks!
definitely like the name class designation! I have done the same too my carriers only used name plates at the bottom! makes it more fun when your at the battle board fighting the japs with the enterprise or Yorktown!

JWO - I just pre-ordered the US set yesterday when it opened up. Looking forward to the French and Axis set as well. I wish HBG was faster at making these available. Cant wait to see how you will paint the sets as well as others. I already know how I’m painting my Gotha though (hint- look at my avatar) :)
Ahh yes Vive la French! those will be fun too paint as well. Do you play HBG global? I only play A&A so far so I will never get too see like a painted Jean Bart French battleship, or any of the cool med tanks fighters and bombers. Cant wait for the axis minor set too, finally a panther tank with some detail, I dislike the OOB panthers, and replaced them all with HBG tigers, panzer IV, III, II’s, stugs, and the hummels. I like that the America set has a Sherman tank with the 76 mm barrel on it as well, rather than the short flame thrower barrel HBG Sherman tank has currently. In fact I wanted a 76 mm barrel so bad I cut off a t34 barrel off one of the Russian tanks and attached it too one of the HBG Sherman flame thrower tanks. I think you can see it in one of my pics earlier in this thread.
Also I saw your magnetic Chinese infantry and artillery! very cool. Any chance you’d showcase more of your painted units cyanight?? unless you have another thread I have missed?

Also, those Boomerangs look sweet! Where did you get your sources Jwo?
And what’s your storage solution for all of these, especially the planes? I’m always on the lookout for innovative ideas to copy!
hey spitefire, thanks the boomerangs were fun too paint. I got my sources from a sweet database site that has every squadron of every type of fighter bomber or transport used in ww2 ww1, called Wings Palette http://wp.scn.ru/
bellow are some of the schemes I had painted. Storage solution is still in the contemplating stages. I have seen guys on here use big fishing tackle boxes for there units which I think I might use as well, dividing up the different types of pieces. Do you use anything special, or John Brown??
Cyanight, yes these pieces are gonna be unreal to have. I bought the game HBG created these pieces for Amerika which has been heavily delayed unfortunately. I can’t wait to paint these German stealth bombers. Have you checked out there American forces expansion set? They have he b24 liberator bomber and p47 jug fighter bomber which looks exciting !
Also continued on the German Luftwaffe, adding some fw190’s…I ordered the HBG versions and liked the paint jobs by others on the site, but ended up liking the cleaness and size of the A&A OOB version…
Have a global game scheduled for this whole weekend and cant wait! had to paint up some of the Anzac air units for the war, found historical schemes for the boomerang fighters and the Bristol beaufort tactical. The PV-2 bomber was just a improvised camo scheme…if anyone has any info on Australian bombers during the war and their colors please let me know…
wow man I am speechless! the navy turned out stunning! really like your choice in colors, the yamato and nagato looked so good in each scheme! great job on the HBG destroyers too and the I400 super subs! I also like the variety of OOB and HBG piece selections John Brown, had the A&A 1941 Kongo in there too ! cant wait too see the other nations man! Thanks for posting and inspiring.
oh I see I see, the enlarged maps. I’ve read lots of guys talking about these and showing there set ups! must make the game soo much easier. Those airbase wont have a problem fitting anywhere on the map then. Any luck, or final solutions for the dashed strip runway markings Tall Paul? Looking forward too seeing those bases once finished with some birds on the tarmac!
LLHoffman is the man! those fighter camos look spectacular! well done, its going to be hard to select which squadrons to play with in your games once your project is done Tall Paul, so many excellent air units to choose from!

Those look great next too the ships thanks for sharing how the experience shall look in game! Question the bases seem like they have room on the pacific side now how about the Europe side? Like regions such as south Italy where you might have some unit stacks or Normandy? Those seem like potiental clutter zones particularly with the airbases?
I heard someone say 5 more weeks for the UK set from HBG……fingers crossed, I’m anxious for that set! Auzzies will be cool too see! the have a great infantry mould in Ed 2 don’t they!?! one of my favs :-D
