With the patch #7, players must now deploy all purchased units during the Mobilization phase. IPC will no longer be refunded for undeployed units. We looked into this: the refunding rules of 1942 2nd Edition basically boil down to resolving human error when you’ve purchased more than you can place. Since we don’t allow that, players were ‘exploiting’ the refund by rolling back their purchase when things didn’t go their way.

Ah, I see. That is not the information we’re ready to share at the moment.

Sorry, I meant thresholds for the number of places. It’s your rating which is required for each tier, definitely.

There are no thresholds, no amount of “reserved” placements in each tier. It depends on your rating score.

RE: General Question - How does Platinum League Work?posted in Axis & Allies 1942 Online
Hello! The tiers are set up in the same way. We’re using the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elo_rating_system. Since the ELO rating of Platinum users is higher, it’s now more difficult for you to move higher.
Yes, playing more games can help.

RE: A&A Online questionposted in Axis & Allies 1942 Online
Hi! For ranked games, you have 24 hours to take your turn. If you can’t do that, you automatically lose.
For un-ranked games, you have 24 hours to take your turn. Then the opposing player gets an option to send you a notification - for other 24 hours. If you still haven’t taken your turn after that, the opposing player gets an option to kick you out of the game (which will mean your defeat). If there are allied players in your team, they will get control over your nation.

RE: Feature request: true random diceposted in Axis & Allies 1942 Online
We have updated the FAQ on Steam.
Updated the FAQ about the Dice.
A: A PRNG generates the value. We’ve examined its output versus real random data and have found it to be indistinguishable. This also applies to the Computer opponent.
Based on the community feedback, 3-4 weeks ago we did pretty significant amounts of analysis of dice rolls in our game. As it turned out, our dice are not unfair.
We rolled about 100 million dice against our PRNG as one of our tests, and these were the results:
https://us.v-cdn.net/5019558/uploads/editor/ct/nlpqwbm4etm3.png
The dice results you see are from patch #5.
We’ve also done smaller batches of rolls more in line with the quantity seen in a single game and the results are quite similar. We’ve done 100-size, 1000-size, 1 million size, 100 million, and 10 billion.
Thus far with any of our tests, we have not been able to identify any instances of the dice being “streaky” in smaller batches, nor have we found any evidence of the PRNG being “bad” based on larger and smaller sample sizes.

RE: Ranked Games - How Does It Work?posted in Axis & Allies 1942 Online
@rem400 Currently, it’s 1v1 only. Messaging specific players is not possible.
Matchmaking automatically connects you to other players. Players must participate in 5 placement matches in order to determine their initial rank. Once ranked, you can select your preferred team (or no preference) and you will be paired with someone of a similar rank. https://www.beamdog.com/news/Patch-5-Turning-Point/No “Wood” tier players yet is most likely due to a not full list of Bronze players yet.

There is a mem leak in the current build which might explain that issue, we’re working on a fix.

RE: Change Defense Profile - Subs?posted in Axis & Allies 1942 Online
If you access Settings, then go to the Account tab, you can create and edit new defense profiles and set a default for your account (this will automatically apply to newly created games of all types). To change the defense profile in a game, access the game settings (either from the in-game menu or by clicking the gear icon on the game card) and go to the Defense Profile tab. Changing this will affect the next combat.

RE: Opinion: 24 hours isn't long enough for ranked playposted in Axis & Allies 1942 Online
Originally it was 12 hours (since we had received so much feedback about wanting a “live” game experience) but, we found 12 hours to be far too aggressive and 24 felt a lot better. We want Ranked/Ladder games to feel important and having a more aggressive time frame on there felt like a good way to go about that. I wouldn’t ever say never, but there aren’t currently any plans to adjust the timer from beyond 24 hours.
