It’s launched, but we’re investigating a problem with the .exe file. https://steamcommunity.com/games/898920/announcements/detail/1616148671791463021

@Panther You might try, but our developers were running into issues where it would get into a loading loop, thus we bumped requirements. However, our next build update should include some performance improvements that may make 4GB viable again (but we can’t promise it).

From the blog entry today:
https://www.beamdog.com/news/happy-10th-birthday-beamdog/
“Our Axis & Allies title is also on the horizon, which is a new kind of game for us. We’re digging into the strategy, teamwork, and rivalry that made the original board game great, so I’m hopeful the release will be a hit with veteran Axis & Allies players— and with new players too. We’ve created introductory tutorials, plus all the setup and rules are automated, so it’s a great way to learn the classic game.” -

@DoManMacgee We’re trying to be low-key at the moment about the game’s features. It hasn’t launched in the Early Access yet.

RE: Any News?posted in Axis & Allies 1942 Online
@DoManMacgee You can tweak your profile each turn, so you will have a chance for that (although I just set up my profile the way I prefer, and left it at that).

RE: Any News?posted in Axis & Allies 1942 Online
In our internal build, we now have implemented a defensive profile which every player can tune as they wish. So now you can pick any profile you want, including submerging of submarines, etc.

You can’t play Steam games without launching Steam, usually. This game won’t be an exclusion.

Hello! There’s no update yet. The release date hasn’t been set. The AMA is indeed the last event regarding AAO. The game is still in development.

RE: Grand Plans, 3rd Edition?posted in Axis & Allies 1942 Online
@Black_Elk I and David have tried something based on your suggestion on the first page of this thread. We skipped combat for all the powers during the first turn. And this (in my opinion) turned out great!
No combat during the first turn let the Allies protect most of their troops, it provided much more variety to the gameplay - each of the players could opt for several opening strategies with much less “known” moves in subsequent turns.
I’d vote all the veterans should try it.

RE: Q&A with Axis & Allies Online Developers, Beamdogposted in Axis & Allies 1942 Online
@DoManMacgee We’re fully honest. From the interview: “1942 2nd Edition provided us with a fantastic jumping off point in terms of creating a game that provided a lot of depth and complexity, but still approachable for new and experienced players alike. One of the main goals with Axis & Allies Online was to make a game that was approachable by any type of player, from the new and inexperienced, all the way to the veteran player who has logged hundreds of hours into the board games.”
And we’re listening.
