    • RE: Cannot change username within the game

Hi! We are going to temporarily remove the ability for players to manually change their Commander Name and Emails for the time being while we resolve issues with the system.

Btw, this forum is not the best place for bug reports. https://beamdog.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/3

I have asked around. We don’t have global statistics on the rolls, unfortunately.

    • RE: Maybe a bug on defense profiles?

@djensen I don’t know if there is a bug of any kind, but I personally make sure to check my defence profile in all my games after I start a new one and set the profile there.

    • RE: Total bullcrap...

The game is in Early Access, which means bugs come and go. The transport bug will be fixed by an upcoming patch.

Tanks can’t blitz through areas with ICs.

Dice roller - we have replied about that many times, it’s all random.

@djensen There was server maintenance yesterday, about 14-13 hours before this my post here. Is it by chance related?

We keep improving server latency, and according to the feedback we’ve been getting in recent weeks it has been working better than, say, in August or September. If you experience such slow responses again, please report via our service desk with a timestamp.

I have asked the dev team for an additional confirmation/details.

XorShift128+ is the PRNG we use (currently a standard in a variety of environments, including v8). The value is time-seeded every roll, not per-game. In our own internal testing, we found it sufficiently random.

    • RE: 1942 Online Tournament?

@aardvarkpepper That sounds pretty bad: not only getting only 2 VCs is not a problem, that actually doesn’t finish the A&A 1942 Online game.

    • RE: 1942 Online Tournament?

      What is “+2 VC victory”?

I agree with @aardvarkpepper that there should be more than just one game, and players should play as Allies and Axis. This is why I asked about a 3-match stage.

    • RE: 1942 Online Tournament?

Do you mean that only game is played at first? Who defines what side is taken then?

    • RE: 1942 Online Tournament?

I guess for 2 first games, a team can play as Axis and Allies, but what will happen with the 3rd game (if we consider that we need 2 wins from 3 matches to progress, and after the first 2 matches the score is 1:1)? Should we … use an online tool to define who will be which side in the 3rd game?

Yes, this is what this thread tries to discuss. Getting your IPCs back if you don’t deploy.

@Panther In that case, those were placable units, I just decided not to place them after the fighters died. And it meant I didn’t recruit 28 IPCs during that turn.

    • RE: Getting your IPCs back if you don't deploy

@DoManMacgee We have implemented the automatic landing and/or crashing of stranded Fighters in the ocean when their accompanying Aircraft Carrier has been destroyed while defending during the Combat Phase. Fighters will now seek out a valid landing zone within 1 space of the current region (prioritizing Aircraft Carriers over territories). If there are no valid landing zones, the Fighter(s) will crash into the ocean, and the event will be logged in the War Diary.

This brings the game closer to the Axis & Allies 1942 Second Edition rules-as-written: “Stranded defending fighters also land during this phase [non-combat move]. These are carrier fighters whose aircraft carrier has been destroyed in combat or fighter interceptors whose original territory is now under enemy control. These fighters are allowed movement of up to one space to find a friendly territory or carrier on which to land. If no landing space can be found, they are lost.”

    • RE: Getting your IPCs back if you don't deploy

@djensen What I did was to buy 2 ACs in Karelia so that 4 my fighters from Germany could get there after attacking the SZ next to Norway. However, during the combat, all 4 fighters were destroyed, this is why I didn’t buy the ACs.

Also, please take into account that the yesterday patch addressed the ACs/fighters situation and implemented the rule from the tabletop game.

What is the issue with subs?

    • RE: Feature request: true random dice

Hey! This has been brought up a number of times, especially at the game launch. A PRNG generates the value. We’ve examined its output versus real random data and have found it to be indistinguishable. This also applies to the Computer opponent.

    • RE: Rules clarification for rolling separately

@djensen Thanks for the feedback. That area of the Combat Board already has a lot going on. We’re going to add some text to the board when you have more hits than valid targets that should help. Also, check out the roll log in-game - it exists to provide more explanation to players. If you open the roll log, you can see which die was rolled by which unit.

juliusborisov is my username/profile name on Steam.

But Steam sometimes doesn’t let you add a friend just based on their username. For example, I haven’t been able to find djesnen47. My friend code is 344504775. My quick link for adding - https://s.team/p/cgmm-qnrk/fhnbmrfp (expires after 30 days).

I don’t believe the games prior to the introduction of the ranking system will count for the ranking system.
The game is recording your wins and losses, but I don’t believe the record before the ranking system will matter.
