Great question, I had to dig through the rules to find that one, frimmel is correct (pg 26 OOB=pg 19 LHTR v1.3-pdf). The rule also states that if the surviving fighters have another place to land (not applicable in your scenario) the carrier is not obligated to move to that seazone even if that was the declared intention.

I have a question regarding DAAK, how do you go from the dice rolling screen back to the select country/make purchase screen without having to go through the whole login process? This is a pain when you are doing the US/Russia turns.

The new rules along with the Sahara Neutral territory makes the battle for Africa much more strategy driven.

RE: Greenlandposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
It’s basically a worthless land mass just taking up space, it shares the same seazone with the UK. You’re better off staging in UK since it borders 5 seazones giving you far more options.

Far longer than I should…according to the wife. But she’s back visiting her family so I should be able to rack up some major online time…

Question about member Info on postsposted in Website/Forum Discussion
I’ve noticed that when someone makes a posts, under their name is a unit designation & some stars,
Example mine says:
A&A.org Artillery
(with 2 stars)what does this signify? I’m guessing it has to with # of posts…if so how many before I become Supreme Commander? :-D

RE: Why I hate SBR!!!posted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition

I usually only sbr with my bombers when they’re not need in combat that turn. BUT MORE OFTEN THAN NOT THE LITTLE BASTARDS GET SHOT DOWN & IT REALLY PISSES ME OFF!
end rant. :-)

Why I hate SBR!!!posted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
I gave up long ago on a strategy of massive SBR’s, but I still conduct them from time to time. But I swear the dicey goddess really has it out for those bombers. My experience has been that they get shot down far more often than the odd’s would suggest. Is this just me or has anyone else noticed this trend? :-(

RE: Africaposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
The attack on Egypt is strategic more than tactical. Not closing down the suez canal on G1 is almost always nearly fatal, the UK will move their indian fleet into the med adding a destroyer and fighter to that fleet re-enforcing egypt with indian inf and preserving travel through the suez canal to counter japanese naval forces attacking in the indian ocean. With the UK fleet off the coast of egypt germany can’t possibly hope to mount an invasion of egypt on G2

RE: Where Did You Get Your Board Game?posted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
Now that you have the Revised game you’re probably going to want to toss the Operating Manual (or at least bury it at the bottom of the box  ). Replace it with the latest LHTR (v1.3 i think) here’s the link to a pdf version:

Have fun!
p.s. looking forward to our first game

I actually prefer the new rule, it eliminates any ambiguities. I will be eating a lot of crow over this one. :-D

Multi-national attacks:
I read the section on multi-national attacks and now i’m really confussed. I thought Larry himself had agreed that allied units in a seazone could be taken as causualties. (I always thought that this was an obscure issue but I have had it happen at least 3 times over the last month). If I am reading the new rules correctly allied units CAN’T be taken as causalties. Did I miss something?:? :?

RE: What to do with my German Navy?posted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
I’ve played a few games where i’ve purchased a 2nd carrier for the med, but haven’t ever put one there on G1. What do you do about your baltic fleet?

RE: Revised Diceysposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
I was running some simulations on Frood’s AACalc & noticed something odd. When attacking a BB with 3 fighters the simulation always goes at least 2 rounds regardless of how many fighters hit in round 1. Is this just a quirk of the program or is there some obscure rule regarding BB?

Pencil me in for game 4. :-D
Don’t be so stodgy, your analysis is fine based on what you would do, but you can’t predict what I’ll do, the great thing about this game is it’s unpredictability. After round 1 who knows what the board will look like. In any case under your scenario you’d be throwing everything at Germany (they could never withstand that no matter what they bought) meanwhile Japan will be knocking at russia’s back door.

RE: Africaposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
Egypt is the key to africa. If you have tanks there on germany’s second turn then definitely blitz through africa. 1/3 of the UK’s starting IPC’s are in africa, taking those away will seriously hurt the UK, plus give germany much needed IPC’s to fend off russia.
