      You do not need to clear a seazone before an amphibious assault if the seazone you are unloading into has only enemy transports or submarines.  In the case of submarines you must have a warship (Carrier, Destroyer, Battleship or Cruiser) escorting the transport so you can IGNORE the submarine before the amphibious assault begins.

      I just checked out there site and the battle of britian set and industrial and rails, South America, partisans, seaplanes and seaplane tenders are all gone and Superweapons UK and Italy were put in there place. A couple of those I would have liked to have seen the light of day some of the ones (read zombies) I don’t care if it comes out

      You’ve been absent, quite a bit. Have you been busy, lately? :-)

      Judging by the fact it took me 3 weeks to answer the question. Yes very busy, working 10+ hour days 6 days a week and taking care of the mother-in-law.

      Well, I hope your doing well. :-)

      yeah I am. I’ve been so busy I haven’t even had a chance to put my Japanese set away. I went through it and checked it out but they are still in the box they came in

      If there ever is a third edition I could see new French units for Europe and new US units in the PTO.

      Great idea!  I love it.  That would definitely solve the question of how to introduce a new set of equipment pieces in Pacific to balance an upgraded French equipment set in Europe.

      See Larry, I’m full of good ideas! Just put me, KNP, CWO Marc, John Brown and all the other sculpt hounds in charge…. well at least of the sculpts.

      I will second that! :-D

      You’re right. Having your SBR’s shot down by AA really sucks! Generally I only SBR if my bombers don’t have anything else to do, which they should if you position them right. You’re welcome.

      Yeah, because that is an expensive plane to replace, LOL! :-D

      @Krieghund:

      Note that if the allied air units are controlled by a different player, the decision whether to scramble those units is made by that player.  As with any battle involving multiple defending players, they must decide upon casualties among themselves, and if they can’t decide the attacker chooses.

      Also, such air units may only be scrambled if that ally is at war with the attacker.

      I see, thank you so much! :-)

      I think my first edition Anzac Cruiser is the Kent Class and the other is the County Class for the second edition. Is this what you were saying?

      That’s the most likely hypothesis, using the nomenclature of the rulebooks.Â

      Ok, cool, so it is the British Class Cruiser. Good to know!

      Thanks again! :-D

      @ossel:

      The conclusion the other thread reached was that the best solution was to permanently award whatever Victory City was bombed to the attacker, and maybe damage production. This reflects what the use of these weapons in WWII was trying to accomplish.

      I read and that does make sense. I will just have to experiment some time when I have the chance.

      Thanks again for showing me that thread.

      @CWO:

      My plastic storage trays are set up so that the butternut-grey ANZAC-pattern ANZAC pieces from AAP40(2) stand in for Australia, New Zealand and South Africa while the butternut-grey British-pattern ANZAC pieces from AAP40(1) stand in for Canada (which is understood to include Newfoundland, and which in principle would also include Eire if it ever went from being neutral to Allied).  That covers the six Commonwealth Dominions, in two groups of three each.  The only cross-set transfer I had to do was to allocate some of the AAP40(2) ANZAC AAA guns to the Canadian set, since AAP40(1) lacked an AAA sculpt.

      I would have used the generic AA gun for Canada just for zero cross-set transfer

      John,

      ––The “Black Cats” were the nicknames for the Catilina PBY patrol bombers that were painted black and went out at night attacking the Japanese with torpedos and/or depth charges. Some had four(4) .50 cal. mgs mounted in their noses. It was quite a different role for these VERY SLOW, recon aircraft but theier crews were effective at being flying pirates. The next time we meet I’ll loan you a book or two about the “Black Cats” if you like.

      “Tall Paul”

      Thanks Paul, I was just guessing! I knew it had to do something with the new set. I just took a shot in the dark with my guess, but it is good to know who they were and what they did. Thanks again for the info. :-)

      @Ben_D:

      There’s a few things that HBG has available that aren’t explained well, if at all.  All of the resource tokens, certain types of fortifications (like the Fort Drum one), P.O.W. camps and a few other things seem to fall into that category.  There is a section on the site that has rules laid out for some of the stuff, but it seems to be outdated at this point.  Maybe an update is in order?

      I’ve asked them to update the rules to the markers and fortifications many times, but I’ve never got a response. I assuming they just don’t have time since they are producing so much as of a late. That is just my theory. I hope they can update it at some point.

      We are updating the special marker rules and it will be ongoing. Look for it in a couple weeks.

      I appreciate it. It will help a lot. :-)

      how did the game turn out?

      Unfortunately, I didn’t get to finish it. A lot of things have been happening to me lately, has kept me from playing, so I decided to give it up till things settle down. Thanks for your advice and help my friend.

      The next time I try, I let you know.

      The country that controls the territory controls the troops.

      Germany takes Bulgaria, gains 4 infantry (+whatever was moved in there).  When Germany goes again, those troops can now move, whether it be combat or non-combat.

      Ok, that is what I thought. Thank you so much! :-)

      @ghr2:

      You should definitely get some sort of protective layer for that map.

      I’m going to at some point. Until, I get a permanent place to play, it is rolled up in a cylinder tube. I’m going to have a man cave built, and then I will work on things like that. I’m going to have to either buy or have someone build me a table to fit the map. This is the plan, anyway. :-)

      Jeremy,

      Will you guys ever be selling the large Italian sets again?

      NO.  If you want the same amount of units you can purchase 6 little sets.

      We decided to follow HBG’s lead in this market (as they have been doing such a great job).  Most people don’t need 150 Italian units….    Small supplement sets are the way to go and more affordable for most gamers.

      Jeremy, everything came the day after Christmas. That is pretty good considering the ice storm, my town suffered through. Thanks for sending the units as fast as you did. They look great!

      Thanks again!

      Hey John,

      ––I just noticed your new avatar. Pretty Cool. I can almost hear the sirens Screaming! BTW, when my Dad was soldiering in WW2 Germany he “liberated” a complete Luftwaffe fur-lined leather flying suit from the factory his unit overan. Just one of the many “souveniers” he returned home with.
      ----Looks like this avatar might dislose your AGGRESSIVE side. I hope so. It will certinly be usefull when playing our A&A games,…especially when you play an Axis power.
      ----I guess I’ll see you Thursday week for our next gaming session. You’re Japan this time. BONZAI!  :-D

      “Tall Paul”
      p.s. - I spoke to Doug and ordered his 1939-Global map & units along with several 1940-Global items I wanted/needed. He said they should be ready by this week-end. Later

      I’m glad you like it. I got bored with my other avatar, and wanted a more aggressive avatar. I bet your dad had a ton of things he brought back. It would be neat to see some of those items. I hope I do better on the next game. I hope Doug will have our supplement packs completed this weekend. Take care Paul! :-D
