I like to use the burgundy Russians (you guys call them maroon) for Soviet Guards units and the maroon/brown units for regular army units.

Same with my Germans. I spray painted all of my OOB pieces dark grey to match HBG’s dark grey. Then I got some more OOB black German units and I use them for SS.

I’ve also thought about using the burgundy/maroon units for Soviet Guards as well. There is a lot of options with the Russian and Japanese colors. I’m just glad HBG has so many to choose from since some of us will not be painting our units.

Tolerone, it is funny you mentioned that. I just ebayed for a AA Europe 99 and already have 3 sets of light red Russian units. I was going for the same thing. Great minds think alike. :-D

The red Russian units match pretty well to the HBG red Japanese and the AAP01 red Japanese units also. That’s why I’m considering them for Chinese/Asian communist units. The Plum I will use for Communist allied minors and insurgents. The yellow green work really well for Nationalist/Pro Western Asian forces.

I’m going to use the Russian plum units for Spain, until the plum French units come out. :-D

The most I’ve done was spray paint all my German Table Tactics pieces flat back. This time around I’m spray painting black me-262s and green LVT-1, brown. I’m thinking about painting some of my many many American shermans, ANZAC grey, and French Blue.

Are you lending your shermans to other powers or leasing them?

Man, I just got e-mail from HBG saying the maroon Russian sets were in, so I bought 5 sets, 8 hellcats from Pacific 2001, and 10 small and large coastal markers for my '39 game.

I’m thinking of doing alittle of both leasing and lending them or something like that :D

I know I got tired of waiting for brown Russians. so I went ahead ordering the maroon ones.

I’m still ordering the brown ones, but the maroons will look cool too. :-D

I got tired of waiting for the brown ones to be in stock. I throw all my A&A pieces together so it’s not a big deal.

That is what I do too. I lock myself in my playpen for hours. That is what my wife calls my game room, LOL. She may not see me for hours, because I’ll either be playing a game or organizing my stuff.

That’s me. I forgot there is one more thing in my order LVT-1 Tanks. I’m painting them brown to be BMP-1s

Looking like the the Russians will be restocked (again  :x ) before the month’s end, and the Japanese Expansion Set should be on the way before month’s end, shipping to all of you (and me  :-D ) beginning of April.

There’s a few things that HBG has available that aren’t explained well, if at all. �� All of the resource tokens, certain types of fortifications (like the Fort Drum one), P.O.W. camps and a few other things seem to fall into that category. �� There is a section on the site that has rules laid out for some of the stuff, but it seems to be outdated at this point.��  Maybe an update is in order?

I’ve asked them to update the rules to the markers and fortifications many times, but I’ve never got a response. I assuming they just don’t have time since they are producing so much as of a late. That is just my theory. I hope they can update it at some point.

We are updating the special marker rules and it will be ongoing. Look for it in a couple weeks.

Start the game with so many oil derricks or tokens and put in certain territories and if there conquered you gain the icp value of territory and the country that lost the territory has to pay you double value in icps. Say Germany captures Egypt and its worth 2 icps. Germany then gets territory ( adjust icp chart), oil well, and UK must pay Germany 4 icp’s. Its a one time deal. If UK takes back Egypt then it reverses. Uk gets icp value ( adjust chart ), oil well and 4 icps from Germany.

If Allies conquer a neutral territory with oil well nothing happens.
They just get value of territory.

If Axis conquers a neutral territory with oil well, US or UK roll die to see who pays.

If an Allied country takes back a former neutral country from the Axis, use first rule at top of this post.

No. Oil supply stays.

Sorry for so many questions, but the wording is confusing to me.

Also you could put in where you need to own at least one terrirory with oil derrick or token for oil supply starting at a certain turn where if you don’t have oil supply you roll a die at beginning of your turn and 1-2 = planes can’t attack, 3-4 = Armor and motorized vehicals can’t attack, 5-6 = warships can’t attack except transports, cargo, and subs.

I have to go back and look at the oil rules. But, for the most part the resource, POW, and any other tokens that dont have specific rules were made for people to use in house rules. We do work on using tokens in games when we can.
