      @Deaths:

      Sheboygan is not that far from me. We should Drum up our resources  (friends) and play some games

      We have a small group who try to get together when we can. I’m sure some of my friends would love to play someone new. I think it would be fun. My problem is my weekends are gonna be fairly busy (I’m in a band, and we have several gigs coming up) through Sept. But I’ll let the boys know, if you want to play we could start to arrange a date.

      Here is a picture of the board Mr. Harris had at the convention.

      If I remember right it is 35x35, so when plugged in with the Europe addition coming out next year, it will be 70x35! :-D

      Larry was getting opinions on whether cruisers should have aa guns, which brought many opinions of course…

      Possible AA50 tourney being planned in Sheboygan area (Cedar Grove, at a coffee house). Looking at November. Have not even established the official rules. Trying to drum up some interested local parties.  Could be single elimination, or, if small, a round-robin. I’d like to post it here, if that’s okay.

    • RE: AA42 has been revealed….. now what?

      I hadn’t played A&A since the late 80’s, and bought AA50 for my brother-in-law, because he asked for a copy of Revised, and the clerk talked me into 50. We played, and whammo, I became addicted again like I was a kid. Then I found this kicka** site, and I think sometimes I may need a talkgroup to get me off it. I have no complaints about the balance, about all the options, anything really. I think it is the best BY FAR game out there. I really don’t understand anyone being upset about a game that hasn’t been introduced, I’d certainly be willing to try it. Honestly, it may take a while to even go there because AA50 is so cool, and there are so many variables to play. I think the creators have it together, and I bet it will be an awesome game, that in ftf we could maybe even finish in less then, what, say 6 hours? That will really help my friends and I to keep our wives off our backs…

    • RE: GENCON

      I don’t have much advice, have not been to GENCON since its been to Milwaukee.
      Play games you like, make SURE to see the artwork, watch all the weirdos walk around, by swords, roll dice, drink alot of beer, roll some more dice. Go see a sci-fi show, participate in a sci-fi show, you know, have fun.

      Another question, who’s going to be there, and who’s in the AA50 tourney?

    • RE: AA50-41 Tech Tourney sign-up (sign-ups CLOSED)

      @Pin:

      I’m a strong supporter of byes in round 1 only, get rid of them all there, seed the participants from the first tourney and give byes to the ones with the better record. After you posted it in the league forum now you will probably get more signups so you will probably have more then 3-4 people who would need to be alternates if you go with the other options.

      I would have no problems with seeds either. Anyone who did well in the 1st tourney could get a bye, and people with winning records in league could get a bye as well.

    • RE: VIU Theory

      The German tank that starts in France. It’s quite often the lone ground unit that survives Egypt round 1, and you can run it all over Africa, total hit and run, and often the US/UK will send multiple transports down to try to contain it.

    • RE: AA50 Rules Errata and Q+A

      Can you bombard a territory from a different seazone than your transports are assaulting from? For example, if the Suez is closed to you, can you transport troops to Trans Jordan from seazone 34, and bombard from seazone 15? My guess is no, however, I’d like to be sure.

    • RE: The Official "Looking for AA50 Opponents" Thread

      Looking for a game of AA50 '42. GENCON tourney rules to be applied. We’ll use a bid for the Axis ($ to be spent on extra axis pieces prior to start)

      Yes on Tech
      No on Nat Obj
      Yes on Fighter Escorts
      No on Darnalles option (seazone 16 is open)
      8 round game, the tourney is set up for 6hour max, so it probably won’t go past 8 rounds.
      Heavy Bombers pick best of the 2 dice and each roll separately

      See this thread for rule clarification

      Yes, and I would like to be “in” as well. I mentioned I would sub because I was #17, thinking it might stop at 16, but I’ll happily let someone pound me.

      @Panzer:

      Hey if AH ever is looking for volunteer play testers, we have a highly experience A&A group ready to take on any new game designs. I think it would be a blast being part of the development of our favorite game. 8-)

      HERE HERE!
      Truly, my friends and I would be willing and able for free to be involved. Only one needs to ask.

    • RE: Games W/O National Objectives

      @questioneer:

      The reason I ask is that the Origins/GenCon tournys are going to this format.  By observation it looks like Allies have a huge advantage.

      Does anyone know why the Tourney rules are so “not normal”? It seams everyone on this forum prefers 41 with NO’s, yet they’re gonna do 42 without? I wonder how these decisions are being made? IMHO, both scenario’s seem quite balanced with NO’s, and they definately make the pacific, and the German/Russian front MUCH more interesting.

      @Battlingmaxo:

      I would still like to know if this “optional rule” is being used in most of the games played on this forum

      If its something you want to do, start a thread in “looking for opponents” stating you’d like a game with them in, and you’ll probably get someone to play you. It has not been typical in my experience.
