      The Pacific Ocean is a LOT larger than the Atlantic. The sea spaces need to be bigger for gameplay purposes or it would take twice as long to cross.

      @JeroldTheGreat:

      What you can also reckon too is the possibility of sneaking tanks and mechs away to the far east, where even though all Russian territories are worth one, the sheer number of them are a huge income.

      If Russia moves those 18 inf into Manchuria or Korea, could work out well. If he’s bringing them home, not so much.

      The question should be: What if France is liberated and can’t immediately taken back?

      If this is the case this is a big achievement for the Allies in case the can get the French to produce units.

      However this does not mean that the game is over then. I have seen several Axis wins after a temporary liberation of France.

      @SubmersedElk:

      In a “search roll” scenario both players should independently roll to see if they detect the other. It should be possible for both sides to detect the other, not just the winner of a contested roll. One has to assume that both sides are using seaplane recon.

      I agree. Also the soze of the airforce should be taken into account. Many BBs (and alot of smaller ships too) in WW2 had a few seaplanes They could fly around trying to find their enemy. Carriers however, would have a Much larger and more efficient unit/force of search planes. While landbased planes where much more limited by fuel and proximity to the coast.

      I would rank it like this:
      hunit, searchroll
      DD: 2
      Cr,BB, CV w/o planes, landbased ftr : 3
      Landbased tac /Bomber : 4
      Carrier with planes : 5

      The best unit you have will determine your searchvalue.

      In that case, it is a fine way to incente more cruiser purchase.
      I played once with attacking AA cruiser, it was not OP.
      But I just found this strange that a boat directly hit planes while Fgs could not.
