The Last Battle I am familiar with was written by Cornelius Ryan who also wrote A Bridge Too Far and The Longest Day. I read the Last Battle twice it was a fantastic read. All of it is actual accounts of people from generals,civilians and soldiers who were somehow involved in the Battle for Berlin. Check it out guys you will love it.

Me too…thought that’s what this topic was about.  A great read…I like it better than The Longest Day and A Bridge Too Far in many ways (although I think ABTF is my favorite overall of the 3), and it was an appropriate conclusion to the European theater.  Freaking scary thinking about being a German in Berlin at that time, though.

Garg’s link was also incredibly interesting, I’m not familiar with this battle.  I know castles did play a small role in WW2, though.

That being said, just go for it.  I haven’t seen her show in a while but would watch it for this.  Also, frimm brought up my thoughts but you seem to have addressed them.

You can turn safe search off, that’s not changed…how you get to it is.  Google only censors in a couple of countries (China, for instance), the US and Canada aren’t one of them.

If you are being outright blocked, then quit looking up porn while at work.  And if you don’t know how to turn off safe search (which is on by default and should be - and when you reset your browser or update it, it can revert back to default settings sometimes), then just google it.

Quit crying conspiracy when it’s just a matter of being ignorant to the problem.  And fighting that ignorance is the only way we will be able to wrest control from the reptilian shapeshifter overlords.

I would watch this movie over, say,  The Longest Day, and I even enjoyed that movie and have read the book.  There’s a charm to older war movies, but without grit, guttural, or gore, it just feels like a war game to me.  I’ll trade a love story for that set of realism any day.

Poor lighting and baffling music choice in the trailer. Looks like this is on par with Pearl Harbor (could not believe Alec Baldwin delivering such cliched lines as Jimmy Doolittle). The visual effects are probably lousy.

If you feel that way, then I doubt we watched the same trailer or that you even saw Pearl Harbor.

I didn’t really notice CGI, but what do you really expect?  Love story is no big deal, stuff like that happened, but I doubt it’ll be another Pearl Harbor.

I forgot to mention they indicated the main house is based off of Pavlov’s House, pretty cool.
