Technically speaking the Taliban had nothing to do with 9/11 as well. Both regimes allowed alQueda to train, eat, rest, and live in their lands with impunity. That’s why we went after the Taliban.

    • RE: This is how I voted

Hmm, you should have had computer touch pad or butterfly ballot. wink

Mine’s going to be butterfly ballot, but that’s fine. It’s worked for over 30 years for everyone not living in Florida.

I don’t think it is the responsibility of the US Gov to dictate the legality of substances. However, it might be the responsibility of the US State Governments.

      Marine,

When you look at them compared to violent crimes in a pacified, civiliazed city they are really light! Hell, there are more murders in Chicago or LA or NY or DC then we have lost in Iraq since 1970.

I was thinking more of comparing it to all modern warfare from The Great World War to the war on terrorism.

Also, I don’t belive we should be seperating the war in Afghan and the war in Iraq. They are both the same war on terrorism, just different states or provinces.

All wars and police actions are similar and should be used to determine just how violent the violence level is in Iraq. What else should we compare it too? The average number of soliders who die driving home from basic training? Okay, that was kind of a joke.

I think we’ll see a steady decline of soldier deaths in Iraq provided whoever is elected stays the course and finishes the job.

Scientologists will tell you that it’s the case of their past lives wearing on them and their only escape is through illegal narcotics. At least, I think I have that right….I might be wrong about that, given I’m not a scientologist, but I’ve been researching them for personal knowledge. (I like to know what and who I’m talking about before I cry blasphemy and pagan. wink)

Dunno if he gave me the drugs for the episiotomy, but he did do that first. Probably because he had to do it while I was sitting up?

      CC:

Yes, it was the OBGYN that gave me the shot and sliced and diced. Maybe that’s not standard proceedure though?

And, don’t they have some extensive waiting lists for cosemetic and life-saving surgeries in Canada? At least that’s what the press is always saying down here in the States. They (the press) claims that many Canadians flock over the boarder for surgery because it’s faster (more expensive) then it is in Canada.

      CC:

I had a doctor administer my narcotics right before he sliced me open to reduce the chances of tearing. Faster healing he said.

But, maybe I misworded some things. What I meant is that a doctor should sign off on the form and be held 100% responsible for what happens. (Not the hospital, not the pharmecist, not the nurse - unless s/he failed to follow directions.)

I did not mean that the doctor should personally hand you the bill or roll the joint.

If you legalize it you’ll just create more unwanted trash on our streets. (Some of you take that as litter, the rest of you as unwanted humans. Either way, trash in your minds.)

I’d legalize any narcotic as long as it is administered medicinally by a trained physician who has a PHD and is liscenced by a federal or state medical board and s/he has to prove to a board of directors that this is the best and safest method of treatment.

      Otherwise, keep them illegal.

    • RE: Iraq Casualties

      A just war:

War which ensures the greatest good for the greatest number. A war fought for ethics and the common good.

      A realistic war:

War in which the victor achieves a number of resources needed to perpetuate the victor’s culture, or society, needs or desires.

    • RE: How many players?

If you get wiped out, surrender your remaining units to an ally and quite. Why do you have to watch anymore? (I’m assuming by wipe out you’ve lost your capital and a majority of your units inhibiting your ability to regain control of your capital?)

What in the world does support for Vietnam have to do with the war on terrorism and who I’d feel comfortable running it?

If you are referring to just funding, then you are saying that if Bill Gates was to hire an army, for the United States, to invade Canada you’d support it, especially if Mr. Gates himself fought on the front lines?

    • RE: Iraq Casualties

      Agent,

I’m a bit confused, are you saying that the President of the United States, all of our upper brass and all cabinet level officers should be on the frontline with M-16s?

I’d think that very irresponsible considering they need to be making command decisions, not dodging bullets!

(BTW, that’s how I read your unjust war because they will sacrifice others but not themselves.)

BTW, Bob Dole was a World War II hero, lost the use of his arm for this country, about the biggest sacrifice I can imagine short of death, and I don’t think I’d want him running this war.

I guess what I’m saying is just because you’ve sacrificed in a war or not should not be the over-all deciding factor on your leadership or whether or not a war is just.

In my mind, a war is just if the world as a whole benefits from the war, and especially if my side (country, state, organization, whatever) benefits from the war. Though, that does mean you have to put a price on human life and that is something we are all loathe to do - regardless of standing on issues of war and peace.

    • RE: Extra 1st round attack rolls for Axis to balance.

Want to make it more balanced? Multiply all starting units on the board by 3. This gives them an incredible advantage, but not enough to dictate they’ll win.

    • RE: The Final Poll

Unfortunatly, I think, that the only way to vote against a candidate in the states is to vote for another candidate. However, you may write your own name in for your vote, if you so choose.

I used to do that on certain elections, but with the fiasco in Florida where the Dems were throwing out votes left and right because of in-complete punches, I’ve grown wary of doing this - and choose to just vote 3rd party and hedge my bets that 90% of the nation isn’t doing the same thing!

You missed the point, Janus. I wasn’t voting FOR Nader, I was voting AGAINST John and George!

No way Nader’d win, even if he was hte only candidate on the ballet.

    • RE: The Final Poll

I think the point would be to just NOT engage in a scandle…or is that too simplistic for the Dems and Reps to do???

Go Nader! (hey, I view it like this, if you are voting for the lesser of two evils, you are still voting for evil, right? Why not throw your vote on a 3rd party and vote against ALL evil!)
