Bid is Carrier in 98
GL & HF Sir!
Was 101 an oversight or did you want to invite my DOW in order to support your kjf and not need to do unprovoked dow with UK?
And the Russian navy fought bravely Id say. Taking down a sub and even a plane was a great success.
Frankly. I was initially planning to dow on j3. But the combination of
Bait in 101
Plus your anzac and us fleet movement put my beloved j2 dow on the plate again.
The only change I made to other games was going more lightly on Yugo to induce a strafe and not take it because I am aware of your yunnan plans from our previous game some years ago and the games you have in progress :)
Previously I went G3 DOW in most cases, but in this case G2 is better as Russia has sent so many units East to fight far from home.
See, this is why I am usually hesitent when confronted with baits. Java went very bad.
I have to say I am meanwhile superstitious about Java. Whenever something goes South when I play Japan, it is happening at Java.
At least I could take it, so it could have been worse. But trading 3 Japanes planes for 3 Anzac planes is certainly a trade Japan does NOT want to make usually.
@Amon-Sul said in JDOW (X) vs Amon-Sul (L+16) BM3:
i am still fighting :)
You are! Although I am still confident, the Axis can stay one step ahead.:)

U were better. I went risky after those big early mistakes, had to try to retake Cairo, but i failed.
congrats!
Thanks for you the nice words and it is always tough to play you as you push very extreme on a certain side that does not allow any margin for error or any dice disaster.
I agree that you made it easier for me than it should have been due to some mistakes. Also, I think at this point, the Axis are unstoppable.
But I have to say that the dice favored the Axis. Except my attack at Java, literally everything went smoothly for the Axis while Allies had some very harsh dice from time to time.
Fewer mistakes and better dice on your end, the position would still be tough.
Thanks for the game, pleasure to play you!
That looked like a very strong move by Japan. The Axis are on the ropes, but farmboy is a heavy-weight whose Axis won’t go down without a fierce fight. I am curious to see what he will come up with!
Yeah, he kept everything together which was key for this turn. Such turns are the reason why it is so hard to make progress against Japan. If Japan wants to protect a territory, they just park a bunch of their abundant planes or fleet there and out of sudden, this territory is an impenetrable fortress
Wow, 58 is a healthy bid. The highest bid I ever gave was 42 in the 2015 championship final. This was the only competitive game I ever lost with Axis.
I would feel very comfortable taking Allies with that bid.
However, I would have invested the bid differently compared to how Oysteilo did.
Curious to see how this game evolves.
Good luck to both of you!
Grats Amon!
Taking down Farmboy’s Axis is a big accomplishment. I assume you may have caught him on the wrong foot with your aggressive anti-Japan strategy in the beginning. Like I caught you on the wrong foot when I DOWed with Japan in turn 2 nevertheless.
This Allied strategy has to rely on avoiding Germany becoming an unstoppable juggernaut which seemed to have worked in this game.
But brace yourself. This will not be easy to repeat. In case of a rematch, Farmboy will come up with something against your strategy, I am certain about that:D
Round 9? Wasn’t this turn 5 yesterday?
God-like speed activated:D
I now downloaded 2.2.20868 but the problem with our current game file persists as ksmckay already predicted.
However, when I start a G40 game from scratch the program does e.g. not crash when I run the battle calculator with subs involved.
As we are still in turn 1, I will now start a new game, redo the turns until after J1 and edit the battle outcomes to the ones we had so far and then proceed with US1
Annoying, but seems to be the only way.
@trulpen Oh yeah, I meant you should bump^^
Epic game gentleman. The Allies are giving a great fight considering their Atlantic fleet was murdered twice for ~100 TUV difference each.
