You have no idea how long I agonized over whether or not you were setting me up for a tank trap, but much like chess, when I can take the Queen 9/10 times I’m taking it!

Geo, I’m sorry, when I finished my Non Combat turn I clicked “done” before I posted the turn summary.  When I tried to post it now manually, it lists the save file just fine, but not the turn summary since it’s on UK’s turn now.

One other thing I’d mention, that isn’t explicitly stated in this thread, is a good way to think of subs attacking and defending with their “surprise strike” is to envision that they are attacking simultaneously.  I had arguments with a friend in the past where an attacking sub hit, the defender took the casualty on this sub, and then there was an argument on whether or not the defending sub could still fire back.  They can, and it’s always helped me by imagining that they are both firing at the same time to understand that rule.

I like that destroyer build off the coast of India to protect your carrier.  Not really sure how to counter that, I’m anxious to see how you play that UK navy out!

alright, i think i *may have figured it out.  When i loaded up your initial save file, i clicked on start local game since i’m so used to playing the AI.  Found this instruction:

“When your opponent plays, he/she simply opens the attached save file.  Then “Start PBEM Game”.  The URL and the email addresses should all be there, and post save game and post turn summary should be on.  But double-check anyway. Do the test post.  Then press play!”

So i’m guessing that’s why it didn’t work, when i get your save file back, I’ll open it up the correct way and it should work.

hmm…did my turn and got “missing refresh header after login error”…maybe it’s because i haven’t posted enough stuff on these boards to attach files yet?  I’m going to manually post the turn summary and try to post the save file, and then read up to see if it’s something with my settings…
