Now that our group has had a chance to play the game several times we’ve come to the conclusion that Japan should win every time if played by a competant player.  The best strategy for Japan is to attack the Allies on the first turn.

While this may sound like a bummer, its actually a good thing since once the Europe game is added, the majority of Japanese strategy in AAP40 will be dramatically different and precarious…ie…the USSR factor, and other things as well(UK/India could be stronger, US commitment to the Pacific, etc…).

Our group is returning to AA50 for now…we cant wait for AAE40!!!

Actually, “imperious leader”…that German plane you attached to your reply is the Do-335…a very good concept, and the ones that were produced(22) performed well…474 mph(350 with one engine) at 21,000ft, 1 pilot, 38,000 ceiling, 1x30mm, 2x20mm, plus 2,200 pounds of bombs.  If it ever had come into serious production 1942 rather than 1944(Goring delayed it for two years) it could have changed a lot of things for the Germans.

Excuse me if this has been covered somewhere before, but I’m a newbie on this forum, and cant seem to find it. 
Question:  On turn J1 or J2…Japan has not and does not DOW anyone.  If the Japanese attack an un-occupied(never occupied by UK or ANZAC) Dutch territory, the UK and ANZAC consider that an act of war.  Because of this would the US be able to declare war on Japan on US1 or US2?  Answer:  I say no, because Japan did not declare war on UK or ANZAC.  But it is kinda fuzzy and I can see a possible argument for the other side of this…ie…Japan committed an act of war.

You should have at least one DD in each fleet to defend against sub sneak attacks, but I think subs are the best buy because they can be used as “soak-offs” in fleet battles, and have the advantages of convoy disruption and possible sneak attacks.

No this is not the actual gameboard. This is just somebody making their own gameboard.

Oh, ok.  Thanks.  By the way, if I can put my two cents in…maybe there should be some kind of naval(not air) restriction on the Western Allies from going into the Baltic?..such as they need Denmark and/or Sweden?

Hey guys, I’m new here.  I assume this will be the AAE40 map?  Its still being worked on?  Release planned for?…D-Day or Gencon?
