@IWillNeverGrowUp look good I placed my first order. Spewing I ordered before you posted the italian self propelled guns.

Sadly the Semovente’s we listed were not a great color (I like it myself, but it’s nowhere near a real brown) and we’ve got a new brown coming in this week.

Also, we’re going to keep adding to the lineup as we can and this process will take time! I refuse to simply take a pre-made file (many of which can be found online for free) and sell the printed product from that. Every piece is being 100% recreated from the ground up!

If I would suggest anything seaplanes and minor tanks. Ie filling the gap others don’t do.
Keep them coming, what else are you planning

      Current list (including what’s listed above);

      Available Now:

      WW2:

US M5 Stuart Light Tank Olive
      US LCAV Landing Craft Olive
      German Panzer III Dark Grey
      German StuG III Dark Grey
      German Sdkfz 251D Dark Grey
      UK Universal Carrier Kraft/Tan
      UK Centurian Tank Kraft/Tan
Italian Semovente M42 da75/18 Brown (Awaiting the proper color)

      Cold War Era:

      US M113 APC Olive
      US UH1B Huey Helicopter Olive

Coming (aka: 3d files being worked on):

      WW2:

      German Elephant Dark Grey
      German E-100 Maus Dark Grey
      German PantherG Dark Grey
      Russian T70 Tank Red
      Russian SU85 Tank Red
      Russian IS2 Tank Red
      Russian KV1 Tank Red
      Russian T34 Tank Red
      French AMR35 Light Tank Blue
French Char B1 Bis Heavy Tank Blue
French Renault UE tankette/Armored Carrier Blue
      French P107 Halftrack Blue
Type 97 Chi Ha Medium Tank Orange
      US M3A1 Halftrack Olive

I’m also working on getting aircraft to print well enough to use. Outside of bombers it’s been tough to get them right so far. Never considered sea planes, but I’ll look into it.

@IWillNeverGrowUp It makes kickstarter feel like the other “give me something for free” sites. I’ve pledged $1 to games I dont even like–many of the HUGELY successful games have hideous artwork, lame gameplay, silly gimmicks, and cheeze ideas but when you actually watch people who know what they’re doing give updates, they have a plan, they have a process, they dont make very many excuses and ASK to be held accountable when they dissappoint, which is exactly how I approach…my work.

I’ve had the opposite experience with the 100+ games I’ve backed through Kickstarter (not just $1 backing, but full pledges) … lots of great game play, amazing artwork and excellent execution. It requires some research on the part of the backer to know what they’re getting in to … to date I’ve only been burned twice out of 100+; once by a big publisher to the tune of around $300 (Robotech RPG Tactics from Palladium) and once by a small/new publisher for $40ish (Dwarves in Trouble by HEX Games).

That said, yes … a professional will have a developed game, mostly finished art (if not finished), proper updates and plans in place and a high degree of communication with their backers (even if late, I like to know what’s happening and not get excuses).

      @taamvan said in Dun-zo:

I’ve designed several games but the problem isnt creating the idea its about creating and executing the final product.

Execution is the biggest, most difficult and most expensive, part of producing a game! It’s where many fall flat.

@IWillNeverGrowUp hi I was trying to place an order today but noticed the T70 stock was only 2 and the back order of semovente. How does the back order work and shipping and any idea when you may have more t70.

Printing more T70’s right and I should be putting Semovente’s up in the shop by the end of the week.
The 3D Printers are running 24/7 right now to build up stock (and keep up with those that are selling).

@iwillnevergrowup said in Is this Kickstarter now officially dead?:

To be honest, I (thankfully) avoided backing from the start because there was, imho (as a publisher) no realistic way this game was being made (properly anyway) for the funding goal they were asking for. Not in my experience at least, though I’d be happy to be wrong.

4 years later and the prices have only skyrocketed on absolutely every step of the manufacturing, freight and delivery process making it even less likely. Plus the constant changes to the game since funding boggles my mind. Wasn’t the game done and ready to go before it was put up for funding?

I feel for those who backed this. I really do. This is a horrible situation and a stain on the entire industry when things like this happen.

That said, I really really DO hope that I’m entirely wrong and you all get your game. Eric did post in the kickstarter comments yesterday.

You got a link to where this Eric posted in Kickstarter comments ?

      Yup, as Panther replied with.

Unfortunately, the comment update (which is par for the course it seems … updates where it takes work to find) essentially says the exact same thing he was saying back in 2019 with the pieces finally (?) prepped for the mold process (as they were also in 2019 and 2020). You know; stuff that should have been ready to go when the funding wrapped up if not within a couple of months of.

Honestly … there is zero excuse for this having taken 4+ years and still nothing of substance to show. (in my opinion).

@IWillNeverGrowUp hi any new ww2 models coming up 😃

      For now, just the following;

      • German Sturmpanzer SPG (Dark Grey)
      • German Tiger I (Dark Grey)
      • Russian SU-76 SPG (Red Brown)
      • French Hotchkiss H39 Cavalry Tank (Blue)
      • French Somua S35 Cavalry Tank (Blue)
      • US M3A1 Halftrack (Olive)

The SU-76 should be in our shop by the weekend.

I’ve been working on some others as well but having some detailing issues when it comes time to print them (they look amazing as a rendered file, but only so-so when printed because of too much detail or tiny bits that don’t print correctly).

Also working on some naval pieces at the moment.

    • RE: Can an Axis and Allies -style US Civil War game actually work?

It absolutely can work, and work well.

Robert Otto created one in May 2022 called Total Civil War 1861-1865 and had it produced in limited quantities as a full boxed set … but at $350 a copy it was expensive (though considering only about 50 … maybe 100 … were printed, it makes sense to me (as a publisher)).

Unfortunately I don’t think he plans on doing it again and the website he had for taking orders is no longer available.

As for why it wasn’t released by MB/Wizards/Et.al. is probably because of a lower demand (even if only perceived) vs other projects. They also pretty much abandoned anything new or novel for the line quite a long time ago and just updated or tweaked and rehashed everything repeatedly. Their last great ‘innovation’ was A&A Zombies. Now that it’s in the hands of Renegade Games, who knows; they’re more open to new games.

Could we get a slightly scaled up version of the carrier? Like 10-15%.
Need a sculpt for Super/Heavy (3 plane) Carrier.

How about a sculpt to use for RADAR AAA?

Upscaled versions of any of our existing models I can certainly do.

Radar AAA, I can attempt, but don’t hold your breath (any new model takes a significant bit of time to create and test before we can print it).

    • Naval Task Force and Ground Battalion Markers Available Now!

The original 2001 Axis and Allies Pacific game contained pieces they named “task force markers”, consisting of six numbered plastic roundel holders and six corresponding numbered printed cards. Their purpose was to allow a whole group of ships to be represented on the game map by a single marker (with a roundel holder to denote the controlling player power), convenient for situations where a lot of ships need to be crammed in to a tight space.

I Will Never Grow Up Games has released our own version of the Task Force Marker PLUS a Battalion Marker!

      ca$5.95 per set.

      Each Task Force Marker or Battalion Marker set includes;

      • 6 Large Task Force or Battalion Markers with Roundel holder (numbered 1-6) (32 mm x 39 mm)
      • 6 “Mini” Task Force or Battalion Markers for super tight territories (numbered 1-6) (32 mm x 18 mm)
      • 6 Task Force Cards (numbered 1-6) (64 mm x 89 mm)

    • RE: Alternative WW2 Pieces by I Will Never Grow Up

Some notes regarding our 3D Printed Alternative AaA Pieces:

      1. These are 3D Printed FDM and not injection molded pieces. As such, while they my have more detail they are subsequently somewhat more prone to breakage at any thin areas. We have attempted to mitigate this as best as possible by beefing up barrels and providing additional supports wherever possible, but there is always the chance that something may break.

      2. As they are FDM 3D printed (not resin) there are layer lines. As small as those lines may be, they may or may not show up when attempting to paint pieces. We highly recommend a very light coat of primer before doing any painting to help fill in any excess layer lines.

      3. All pieces are scaled to out of box Axis and Allies pieces with some variation for designations such as light, medium, heavy, super heavy.

      4. All pieces dimensions are listed on their respective shop entry.

      5. On request we can do alternate colors of existing models (an additional charge will apply).

      6. We will do our best to clean any excess stringing or “flash” from models prior to shipping, however some cleanup may be required.

      7. Color may vary from one run of pieces to another based on the filament used. While we do attempt to use the same brand and color of filament for each specific nation, available supply of filament may occasionally dictate a different brand, and therefore a different shade.

      8. We attempt to keep a supply of all pieces in stock, however if a piece is currently out of or low on stock it will take a little longer for your order to be shipped as we produce the missing item(s).
