Added the absolutely ludicrous and utterly charming BOB SEMPLE Tank in UK tan.

The Bob Semple tank was a tank designed by New Zealand Minister of Works Bob Semple during World War II. Originating out of the need to build military hardware from available materials, the tank was built from corrugated iron on a tractor base. Designed and built during a period of uncertainty in which New Zealand feared having to defend itself from Japanese invasion without external assistance, these tanks were a civilian effort to design and create a means to protect New Zealand.

Designed and built without formal plans or blueprints, it had numerous design flaws and practical difficulties, and was never put into mass production or used in combat.

@panther said in China - placing new infantry:

Every power that will not be attacked and that maximizes (or at least tries to maximize) their IPC gains and unit builts will be able to achieve huge amounts of units

      Yes, you are very right.
My point is just that the China rules to me are very unclear (in terms of Mobilize New Units)
And that you can just over come the “max three or more rule” by moving China’s units and make space for the new units.

Thought I misunderstood the rules, but seems like it’s not the case because basically we are on the same page in terms of the rules I can see.

You are correct. As long as there are no units in a Chinese territory, they can place up to 3 units there during mobilization. So if you move all units out of a territory, you can then place your new units there, and repeat this ad-nauseum.

It’s not overpowered though as Chinese units can not leave China, so if this is happening chances are Japan is ignoring China anyway (as they can easily go around and ignore it). So go ahead a load up those infantry in China. If they are being completely ignored by Japan (I frequently ignore China as Japan), they’ll sit there, completely useless.

    • WW2 Vehicle Minis Available as Print on Demand

I Will Never Grow Up Games now offers print-on-demand variable scale WW2 vehicles!

All minis are true-scaled to the original dimensions of the real-world vehicle.

      Choose from a variety of common wargame scales, starting with;

      1:144 (12mm) - from ca$4.95 per vehicle
      1:100 (15mm) - from ca$9.95 per vehicle <- Typical A&A Miniature Wargame size
      1:56 (28mm) - from ca$24.95 per vehicle <- Typical Bolt Action size

      https://iwillnevergrowup.com/product-category/minis/3dpod/

Additional models being added as we continue.

All Print on Demand orders will be entered into a production queue and will ship when completed. At this time we cannot provide an ETA on delivery as there are too many factors involved, including, but not limited to quantity of orders, number of items ordered and production capacity.

      Pricing varies by model
      Some assembly may be required

Multi Part (**) high quality 3D Printed vehicles.

** Most vehicles include separate turret + combined body/tracks, others come with separate turret, body and tracks. A small selection of vehicles are 1 piece (Sdkfz 251d, Sturmtiger, etc).
** For assembly of tracks to hull, we recommend the use of Gel Cyanoacrylate (superglue).
** Turrets press fit and freely rotate when assembled without the use of adhesives.

    • RE: 3D Printers?

For things like factories, shipyards, etc a simple home 3D printer works fantastic.
For things like infantry, it gets dodgy, though you CAN still make it work ok with the right settings.

I use a Monoprice Mini Select V2 (found at https://www.monoprice.com/product?c_id=107&cp_id=10724&cs_id=1072403&p_id=21711).

Under $200, small buildplate (which is perfectly fine for these uses) and out-of-the-box functionality (no need to put anything together, just plug it in and you’re ready to start printing essentially). You can use basically any PLA 3D printing material for great results.

Finding the settings that work best for what you’re doing takes time, as does either MAKING the 3D files (which requires some level of experience) or finding the ones you want to print (thingiverse.com is the best source I’ve found for free to use files).

    • Metal Flight Stands - Different height? Is there an interest?

      Hey everyone!

Our metal flight stands have sold extremely well and we’re preparing to get another batch of them manufactured as we’re getting close to out of stock.

That said, is there any interest in having another height of flight stand to add to the mix?

Currently they stand 25mm high. What would you all think of adding a 35mm high stand to the lineup?

If there is interest we’re going to run a short (14 day) Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign to raise both funds and, more importantly, additional interest in the product prior to placing an order (the more we can order at once, the better it is for everyone)!

Thanks for your input, in advance!

    • 35 mm Metal Flight Stands Funding on Kickstarter (Cancelled - Pre Order Page Now Open)

35 mm Flight Stands Funding NOW on Kickstarter Crowdfunding Platform

Kickstarter Campaign Cancelled - Pre Order Page opened at www.iwillnevergrowup.com in its place!

I Will Never Grow Up Games is now running a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign starting on Tuesday, February 26th and running through March 14th for the production of 35 mm high Metal Flight Stands and another batch of 25 mm Flight Stands.

      How does Kickstarter work?

Kickstarter is a ‘crowdfunding platform’. Backers (ie: customers) pledge an amount of money for a reward level they are interested in receiving. IF (and ONLY if) we meet or exceed our funding goal, at the end of the campaign you will be billed for your reward level.

At that point, Kickstarter will take their percentage and disperse the remainder so that we can pay for manufacturing and freight of the product. During this time every backer will receive a Pledge Manager invite. Pledge Manager allows you to enter all of your delivery information, pay for shipping, upgrade your pledge amount and/or choose add-on rewards.

Once the product is received we then pack and ship it out to each backer!

      Why Kickstarter?

      Crowdfunding allows us to;

      • gauge appropriate production quantities.
      • ensure the funds are available to manufacture and deliver in a timely manner rather than waiting.
      • helps to increase awareness of the product by getting it out there, viewed by people already on the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform.

    • Interest in replacement and/or custom roundels supply?

Hey! We’re looking at the possibility of adding replacement roundels and/or custom roundels to our lineup and I was wondering what kind of roundels anyone would be interested in and what price point would be acceptable (either individually or in sheets of 15).

We’re looking at 19mm round, 2mm thick punchboard, just like you get in the game so it would match your OOB setup well.

Drop your ideas here and we’ll see what we can do if the demand actually exists!

    • RE: Battle of France 1940 Redux

      Progress update:

      • Rules completed
      • Combat Cards completed
      • Board/Map about 90%

I’m going to have 3 versions of this available on The Game Crafter for anyone interested. We would consider running a crowdfunding campaign to do a full print run of 500+ copies, however we would need at least 250 people to pledge for the game at ~us$60 during the campaign in order to fund the project. We feel this is the best middle ground available with the most options for the lowest overall cost.

(The Game Crafter is a Print on Demand board game service located in the US. They will take your order, print and assemble the product and ship it to you, allowing us to do as few as 1 copy of the game).

      • Full box version (minus combat unit miniatures) for ~us$60
      • “Minimalist” version (physical print of the board, rules, cards and control/player power tokens) for ~us$40
        * ‘Minimalist’ Does not include box, round marker, dice, draw bag, chips or combat units.
      • Digital Only version (digital files only for the board, rules and cards) for ~us$5
        * includes only digital files for you to print out as you see fit.

      Contents (full box version)

      • Rule book
      • Game Map (18 x 27 inch/460x865mm, 6 fold board)
      • Game Round Marker (red 15mm wood cube)
      • Combat Cards (18) (4 French, 4 German, 4 British, 6 ‘General’)
      • 6 sided dice (6) (3 red, 3 black, 16mm acrylic with standard white pips)
      • Player Power Chits (15 France, 15 Britain, 15 Germany) (18mm round cardboard tokens)
      • Cloth Draw Bag
      • Box

      NOT INCLUDED

      • Multiplier Chips
      • Combat Unit Miniatures (french, british and german pieces).

You can download the rules and keep up to date on the release or any other major changes/announcements at our website : https://iwillnevergrowup.com/publishing/battle-of-france-1940-redux/

I Will Never Grow Up Games is moving once more, for the final time to a permanent location!

As a result, we will have very little stock available during the transition and new orders will be slower than usual to ship as we renovate/remodel the new location and prepare to move.

We hope to have everything back up and running 100% as of Dec 1.

Thank you for your business and your patience during this disruption!

Well, as you may (or may not) have noticed, we did not get everything sorted by December 1st.

Our new, Relocation Grand Re-Opening AND 10th Anniversary Sale will begin on January 15th (to February 28), 2023!

    • RE: Have you guys seen this big anouncement for A&A?

I will note, Renegade doesn’t make any games with plastic units. That would seem to be a pretty big hurdle to me to taking on A&A. At this point, maybe that is just fire and forget for the old stuff as its all subcontracted to China, which has all the old molds and production down pat. But anything new, and easy to see renegade losing its shirt.

      I wouldn’t say they don’t make ANY games with plastic “units”. There are at least three;

      Dead Men Tell No Tales
      My Fathers Work
Power Rangers Heroes of the Grid
And it looks like maybe their GI Joe game may have some in there …

Admittedly not in the hundreds of pieces like A&A, but they are highly detailed molded miniatures (including a fancy separate miniatures pack upgrade for DMTNT).

TBH, for a publisher the size of Renegade, they’d have zero issues dealing with plastic minis. If a small time publisher like me can manage without any hurdles (if I could get the funding that is), they can as well. COST would be something that they’d have to factor in but that’s beyond our knowledge as we have no idea how well capitalized they may be or what their risk tolerance is.

      Hi all!

I just wanted to make a quick note that our stock of Field Marshal Games’ Italian Units (Sets) are officially out of stock!

Unfortunately this was the last of the stock ever made and will not be available again in their former glory. We are hoping to create a new set ourselves but that may be some time in the future still as it’s a pretty big process, all things considered.

Until then we still have individual pieces left from the sets that were broken up, and we happily recommend any of HBG’s units to use in your games.

      @taamvan said in Dun-zo:

@IWillNeverGrowUp Fraud requires specific intent to defraud, I’m not sure what he thinks he can accomplish given the money and time. From day -100, its been “everything is mostly finished” except nothing. He has mysterious creators and developers and an entire team (him), and he did expend some effforts to create prototypes rules art and maps but this project is WAY beyond the scope of 100k and 1 person in terms of what was promised and thats just a lesson about throwing your money away.

There have been like 3 “generations” of game projects that have been pitched, funded, developed from a rough idea, printed and shipped since this one started. It can be done, but only if you are dedicated and know what you are doing.

I won’t call fraud as we don’t know that there is intent. The lack of proper communication and the “Ready to go!” followed by “Still play testing/developing/finishing up” could just be a lack of experience. I can’t say with certainty.

I’ve held off commenting for a long time as a designer and publisher myself. I do know what it takes to get these things out there. From what I’ve seen, this could be done for the money raised, even with a 1 person show. However, like you said, you need to know what you’re doing and it would be very tight (money wise) and could potentially lose money if there are any mis-steps (shipping costs have gone up dramatically over the past 2 years for example).

I didn’t back this one because it was clear (to me) from the start that there was a lack of understanding of both the publishing aspect (process, costs, work-flow) and how a Kickstarter campaign works (see the mess of the pledge levels, for an extreme example).

I started work on my own Vietnam game in 2008 and just released it (via Print on Demand) this summer. I wouldn’t have even considered going to Kickstarter if it were still in the development stage. Perhaps I should do a Kickstarter to do a complete manufacturing run with all the bells and whistles!
