      @Auztria:

      You’ll only buy it if Syracuse wins the tournament? Sorry you’re missing out on such a great game, then.

      Or if Wichita wins and Syracuse loses then Michigan wins the tourney is also okay with me.

      Also I live in Canada and living in Canada comes with high shipping costs. Cheapest I’ve found it and I have figured the cheapest to be like 95-100 dollars. Just so expensive especially since I know few who will play it

    • RE: Why isn't France a Central Power?

      can say Germany took Paris off the bat and then the French would surrender all their army to France and bam 1914 Vichy France. Then to make sides more even, we shall add Japanese Forces coming through the Atlantic to balance this out

    • Will Buy if..

      I am going to buy the game if Syracuse wins the NCAA tournament

      I entered a pool a couple weeks ago and put my bracket in. You put your 5 bucks and it cones up to 130 or 65 if a tie which it will most likely be.

      Anyways I find 100 bucks to much money to spend on a boardgame unless I win.
      I am very pumped to play the centrals. I see all the naval purchases and am very intrigued to build navys.  Hopefully my friends either overspend or don’t spend on navy so either they have to much navy or too little and I rule the water.
      Anyways I just wanna win so I buy the game and oogle at it in the tub for hours ;)

    • RE: Why is Italy an allied power?

      The Austrians have a choice to DOW against Italy on the first turn. And this neutral Italy first turn may not hurt the Austrians if they wanna hit Romania hard.

    • RE: Why is Italy an allied power?

      I believe the OP was asking why Italy starts the getco with the allies.  Is it that difficult to just let Italy be neutral for one turn?  Like if it balances it it balances it if not we take it out. I just think everyone argueing is getting rediculous.  The passed pages aren’t even about this topic.

      I am quite dissapointed. :mrgreen:

      I completely agree with you. And that’s what I think if its a disadvantage to the CP if they lose a victory city.

    • RE: Why is Italy an allied power?

      Italy goes into a revolution. Then U.S.A. For some reason sends even more stuff via convoy to France and France gets 12-20  extra IPCS to spend a turn
      Bam seems balanced almost ;)

    • RE: Why is Italy an allied power?

      If Italy switches to the CP the scenario is unbalanced.

      The game is designed for ‘historical accuracy’.  In ww1 Italy decided the allies and made it even.

    • RE: Why is Italy an allied power?

      I feel Italy should be neutral for one turn, then decide if they want to go to war or wait till turn 2 and be automatically at war.

      However Austria Hungary or any other central power can decide to attack Italy during that time period because they feel Italy is going to ‘Betray them’. This may balance what people say about the allies bossing!!!

      Russian sub in seazon 4 can it move to seazone 6 on Russias first turn and stop the German fleet on seazone 5 from moving passed 6?

    • RE: Balance Issues?

      I find that withe the additional destroyer and 2 inf it makes the game more fair.  I am not a fan of unbalanced games but as soon as I played the first game. I played axis against a friend who played allies and I steam rolled him. I took Russia in three turns, had India from J1. Had Africa . Asia was mine, taking Islands.

      Within 5 turns the axis had double the income of the allies, with more resources. Needless to say the axis won easily with no challenge against the allies.

      With the new set up I can’t send my sub to kiLl a defenseless transport :(, and if Russia wants to stack an attack on its first turn it can pile an attack of 8 inf 1 tank 1 fighter and estimated losses of 0-2 inf to hold that territory.

      It is more even however the axis still have the upperhand. But I don’t steamroll no more

      Then the allies would never revolt.

      Edit: After I post I sense sarcasm…

      House rule the axis decide ;)

      @oztea:

      Italiansarecoming:

      Thats what I meant by “original” territory. Only your own.
      And infantry only because artillery too would be too powerful.

      I must have read and skipped the original. Details when skimming sometimes don’t show up.

      When you say Infantry only I was thinking if you build one artillery that takes up 2 or 3 of the infantry you could build. So purchases for that territory could be 1 art and 1 inf. And that would be the max

    • RE: What should I do? 1914

      If I am not mistaken the askaris thing is that in Africa you can buy 1 infantry for every original territory that you started with and still control at that time period.

      I.E. Germany can buy an infantry for a territory they owned at the start and still currently own. They wouldn’t be able to buy an infantry in Egypt if they owned it because they never previously owned it.

      This would make Africa quite interesting. I may be wrong though

    • RE: Reverse Schlieffen Plan

      @oztea:

      Any original territory worth 4 ipcs or more can produce 4 infantry per turn.

      Decent houserule but I think I may tweak it and say it has to be your own territory (one of the ones you started with) and add being allowed to make Artillery guns

    • RE: Reverse Schlieffen Plan

      @Flashman:

      Not without the Munich factory they can’t. Seriously.

      From game tests so far it seems the Allies have a huge upperhand.

      A second production center for Germany could even the odds since U.S.A. Can send units to the front faster then Germany…

    • RE: New Player Need Help with Strategy

      So as the axis:

      Germany: take out British navy, take back Western Russia if aTtacked
      And possibly Karielia or Caucus depending on Russian losses.  Build constant infantry/tanks till Russia is dead and you will probably win.
      Take Egypt on first turn if you want (optional)

      Japan: Take India, take honolulu’s battleship out.
      Then anything else Japan wants like taking out China, or going for russia or landing on islands. Just attack. Remember America will have to spend a shitton to beat you. (Japan ends up being highh income quiickly)

      Allies:
      Russia hit Western Russia with a large amount of infantry, 1 tank and the fighter. Always buy infantry. As Russia having a large reserve in Western Russia and Caucus is a consistent strategy to make German attacking inf go 1 over your 2. But Germany will have a good amount of tanks to hit your inf.

      Britian: stall Japan buy a fighter to defend India. Kill germany’s navy.  Survive haha.

      USA: shuck from Canada to France. Germany doesn’t wanna spend money to defend france because knocking Russia out by turn 4 is really really realllllllly imporytant,
