    • RE: Tought on diplomacy france, GB, poland and Germany

@chris_henry I think in the above scenario France has declared war on Germany, however GB doesn’t have to income to do so as well.

In regards to the OP, I see no issue with Poland Aligning to GB. Yes it does not follow the standard Control/Alignment rules, but Poland is special so the standard rules shouldn’t really be considered.

    • RE: Winter War Expansion

There was a interesting British-Franco scheme that was supposedly to intervene in the winter war, but actual goal was to invade Sweden and deny german supplies from there.

It would be interesting to see that as an option somehow.

    • RE: German Possesses Iraq? Never gonna happen right?

@aldrahill Plus the British/French player can not defend all the territories around iraq. They would have to defend, Syria, Jordan, and Kuwait.

    • RE: German Possesses Iraq? Never gonna happen right?

While we are on the subject, the rule book state that if there is a german or italian unit in an adj. zone, iraq joins at the end of turn.

I image this is supposed to be interpreted as if there is a german/italian unit present at end of turn? Like Germany cant land a unit in a contested zone, and then say “well i have a unit adjacent, they now align”

    • RE: German Possesses Iraq? Never gonna happen right?

@aldrahill The German player can easily take syria when they declare war on france. Italy has an easier go at it, they just load up an infantry and artillery on turn 1 and go for a Mediterranean cruise.

    • RE: Chinese bug(not Covid)

@panzerbaguette UK can declare war on a minor nation at any point.

    • RE: Chinese bug(not Covid)

Chinese Warlords are not really minor nations, despite them looking like them.

What’s more, an attack on a warlord is considered to be an attack of all of china. This would involve a attack on KMT with is forbidden by an allied power.

Also sending the USA to -2 (well 0) income at the start of the game, is not an insignificant price to pay. The Usa would be effectively losing like 60 IPC over the 10 turns or so they are not at wartime income. And they would join the war later.

@generalhandgrenade So it remains controlled despite a state of war existing between the USSR and Japan (axis) ?

I dont know about the other two situations fut for your third

-Third situation, the “A” territory is a mountain, am I still able to reach the “C” territory with my medium tank?

See Eretta: “The territory you are standing in does not count (assume you are standing right at the border). The first territory you move into determines the type of terrain.”

So if you start in mountains you can make it to zone C.

    • RE: The Alignment/Control of Finland

They align to Germany. Despite Germany not being at war with the USSR, all alignment and controls are assigned to germany (unless you are playing with that one optional rule).

In Table 4.3, under ‘Assigning alignment and control’ it states that both alignment and control are assigned to germany. Only Siam would be assigned to japan.

Nowhere does it imply that comentern attacking a neutral would go to the allies.

@didier_de_dax said in Canada and Canada at War expansion question:

But I don’t understand why Canada wont collect the bonus peacetime income on its first turn ? (if this was still up to date).

I dont see why they would? Their former (making this all an academic conversation) increase was if “Axis submarines end their turn on a British Convoy Line.” By their turn they mean the German, Japanese or Italian turns.

You might be confused, you may be thinking that those were “peacetime bonus income” but they are “peacetime bonus income increases”?

    • RE: Canada and Canada at War expansion question

      @didier_de_dax said

The problem is that Italy has a submarine in sea zone 80, where there is a British Convoy line, at the start of the game in 1936.
Italy’s turn is after the Canadian one, so Canada is always going to have this +1 bonus income on the first turn?
Or Italy isn’t considered member of the axis at the start of the game?

      Thanks for your answer.

Canada doesn’t get an increase on their turn, they get the increase on the Italian turn, if they leave their sub there.

    • RE: Carriers vs Islands in Pacific?

@hms-serapis If you are island hoping, you cant defend your fleet with aircraft.

Also I do not see how you are able to attack islands with aircraft without carriers to land on. An aircraft from Hawaii, could not reach any islands japan may take (save one)

@gen-manstein IMO if we are talking about improving techs, fighters scrambling should be added to Heavy Carriers, as they are weak enough.
