    • RE: The FAQ Thread

@noneshallpass said in The FAQ Thread:

An Attacking or Defending AA Artillery rolls one die for each opposing aircraft up to a maximum of three rolls on hits on a roll of “3” or less.

Where i see the issue is that the rules for AAA doesn’t say it rolls at its defence, or rolls at its attack value, it says it rolls at the static value of “3”.

While it might be intended that AAA is affected by terrain and forts, i think it might be problematic as AAA is balanced by it firing one time, but forts giving them a bonus one time seems to counteract that. This would make AAA incredibly strong in fortified zones. Toss a fort and 3 AAA into paris, and that’s going to be 9 dice at 5 (assuming the germans bring 3 planes).

    • RE: The FAQ Thread

      @gnomegrabbin

A couple of questions, first, I have seen people saying the winner of the Spanish Civil War stops making recruitment rolls,

Its a bit of deductive reasoning, but In 13.1, in the Spanish Civil War, it states that the Nationalists are controlled by Germany. Thus if the Spanish Civil War ends, they are no longer controlled and no longer make recruitment rolls. Also same goes for the Income & Production section of that.

      AAA

I would like to see an answer for this as well. The question would also apply to forts. For example, does an AAA on the Maginot Line get 3 shots at 6?

    • RE: Attacks on a Territory by Two Powers Not Allowed to Attack Together

      @trig

      FAQ has been updated.

Q: Can two nations that share turns attack the same land zone if they are

forbidden to attack together per 6.1 (i.e. USA and minor power KMT)?

      A: No.

Of course this doesn’t solve the issue of say, vichy france and Germany attacking the same free french zone, as thats not forbidden in 6.1 (as far as i can tell)

@trig said in Attacks on a Territory by Two Powers Not Allowed to Attack Together:

Edit: Also, it is impossible for any two nations to attack the same land zone in the same turn if not aligned, as they would both need to be at are with the same power. So the circumstance in the FAQ is impossible.

I dont think its impossible, just the situations are limited.

      • KMT and USA
      • CCP and USSR
      • Turkey (in the expansion IIRC)

All of those move and attack at the same time. They also can attack the same land zone without being aligned (according to 4.4). Nations are only aligned as in the same alliance, when they are at war with the same major power. USSR and CCP could be at war with the minor power KMT

    • RE: Attacks on a Territory by Two Powers Not Allowed to Attack Together

@trig he must mean when he says “if they are not aligned” he must mean aligned as in part of the same Alliance (as in the would have to be at war with the same major power).

This makes sense because if they both attack, they would end up sharing land zones which can only be done when aligned.

So i think if you read between the lines that answer means that they can attack the same zone if they are aligned.

I assuming you are talking about the vichy/FF roll off when france surrenders?

It becomes a Vichy unit. Same if it become FF.

@theveteran said in The FAQ Thread:

@insanehoshi the answer is NO the Iraq unit may not be used fir combat the same turn you aligned it since it aligned during the combat phase. (Not the start of the turn)

Yes, but germany gets another combat phase right after that one.

      Regarding German LIGHTNING WAR.

If germany takes, syria for example, Iraq aligns at the end of the combat phase. If Germany is using their lightning war rule that turn, can they then use the aligned infantry in iraq in another combat move (say into transjordan)?

    • RE: Are We Forced to Place Units from the Production Chart?

      Faq’d

Q: Are you able to buy units, and keep them in reserve on the “Place Units” box of the production chart, to be placed in later turns?

A: No, you must place them in the same turn if you’re able to.

      On Lend Leasing.

Are you able to lend lease special units, ie Katyushas, SMLF, USMC?

Normally you are allowed to build 2 of each special force per turn. If you build two, are you able to lend lease a third?

@noneshallpass said in Are We Forced to Place Units from the Production Chart?:

Otherwise the sentences “If you cannot place a unit for any reason it remains on the Production Chart until a later turn” (11.1) and “You may postpone the placement of units in the place units box if desired” (7.3) do contradict themselves.

I think there might be two different concepts in place here. When you build an infantry, it doesn’t actually go on the place units box and thus must be placed. When you build a ship it does go on the place units box and can be delayed.

    • RE: Terrain movement restrictions

I believe there is a FAQ that states that when you start movement, you start right at the border, so the terrain of the starting zone doesnt count.

@Warwick I would say no. The mountain border reduces the movement by one, and it remains at one even when it gets to clear gorount.

      @chris_henry

will say “but how is that possible when the rules says you need to be at war with the same major power to align a minor nation?”

But the rules don’t state this. They state there are generalized conditions for control and alignment. They then state there are special rules on alignment as well. There is just two methods to consider.

    • RE: The FAQ Thread

@vondox said in The FAQ Thread:

So, IF the Germans WIN the screening battle then ALL transports can proceed with the landings along with any German ships that were NOT part of the screening forces. However, if the Germans lose the screening battle then all of the transports and forces with those transports can not proceed to the landing. They are just stuck in the same sea zone along with any surviving British sea forces.

Oh if they had transports the Germans can land A OK ( because we have rules for screening forces).

I am talking about where there are no transports (and thus no naval units to screen for); They are going to make it over using the narrow crossing. Logically you could do so using a similar method, however i don’t think the rules state this.

    • RE: Tought on diplomacy france, GB, poland and Germany

@chris_henry Poland would be aligned to GB (and thus cease to exist) and they would not be at war with Germany.

      A question about Narrow Crossings.

Say you (as Germany) want to invade London from Europe using marines using the Narrow Crossings, and British ships are present in the English Channel.

Can you declare a combat move into the seazone to clear the british ships and on the same turn declare a combat move with the marines into london under the assumption you can clear the channel?
