      @wittmann:

      I do think you need a Minor YG.

      We will playtest this Sunday with the minor in India of course, but if this game mechanic proves to powerful… a small tweak like removing the Calcutta factory altogether would be an option.

      Very curious to see how your game plays out!  Update us asap! :)

    • RE: How do the allies keep Egypt?

      @ItIsILeClerc:

      Second, The allies must pay very close attention to (and understand) German build-strategies. Come round 2, Germany will have revealed its targets by positioning but especially by production. If London is not the target, UK should start a FTR-production in SA. And if German support for Italy looks very serious (lots of bomber production), an IC in Egypt is also necessary.

      LeClerc,
      What if there is a sea lion threat? Egypt is now much harder to defend. Do you concede Egypt and max protect London?

      @ShadowHAwk:

      Well one idea would be to focus all of US vs japan and all of the UK vs Germany ( maby a little leftovers to india ) with a 55 ipc income round 1 this would be verry painfull for germany as the UK will have a fleet ready turn 2 and sea lion will be impossible.

      Just a correction, 28 (london) + 17 (calcutta) = 45 IPC round 1.  Still though, I agree with your premise, I don’t see Sea Lion as a viable threat any more.

      Agree, but with $45 to spend I just don’t see London ever falling.

      Makes sea lion a much less viable option for the Germans.  To me that’s a big drawback, but I like the added flexibility and challenge of balancing spend.  Playing them would be become more like the US.

      @theROCmonster:

      unless you somehow lost England on T3 and Germany has most of her planes left.

      I don’t see how London could fall before T3… mind explaining?

    • RE: Best Strategy for Strong Anzac

      You could upgrade the minor to a major if you had the cash, couldn’t you?  Or does the territory have to be worth 3 IPC?

      @kku:

      just have a question that what is the ownership of java if US capture it from japan hand.?

      US would control it because they captured it from Japan.

    • RE: The Japan Playbook

      @Young:

      I do the J1 every time, good chance of getting Island NO round 2, I build up to 4 factories on the mainland, bomb and convoy India til they can’t buy a single unit, and I push China back to their last 3 territories. Everything else after that is all progress for Japan.

      Isn’t this a big blow to the Germans & Italians with USA in the war turn 1?  Curious what your buys are with this strategy. I assume you bring the entire IJN down to Philippines/Borneo?

    • RE: Sub - tranny question!

      You can load because the sz is not hostile but you could not offload for an amp assault in that sz, unless you brought a warship allowing you to ignore the enemy sub.  Correct?  And by warship, is that any ship, including a sub?

      LeClerc - what are Germany’s Atlantic attacks with this strategy?  Do they go after the DD & TT off the Canadian cost, the CR in sz91 or both?

      @Zhukov44:

      Quick rules question guys.

      UK1 IC placement in Persia (after it was taken during ncm move)….  Legal or no?

      Thanks in advance!

      No, you did not control it at the beginning of your turn.

      Bismarck is kept alive using the strafe tactic on SZ111.

      Could you explain this? If you retreat to keep the Bismarck alive wouldn’t you also leave the Hood alive as well?

      Why would you want to put a naval base in a land locked territory?

    • RE: Basic strategy for each country in various situations (A3)

      As Japan has anyone tried attacking FIC turn one but waiting to attack UK/Anzac/USA until turn 3 or 4?  You’d lose the 10 bonus but would have a jump start on producing troops in SE Asia with a complex built there turn 2, while still having the benefits of delayed US war entry.

      Does a Kamikaze strike constitute a sea battle?  i.e. would it prevent shore bombardments?

      While neutral, can USA land planes in UK or ANZAC?  Example, bomber from Central US to London or Fighter from Philippines to Queensland.

      @Gamerman01:

      @IKE:

      I thought CV’s are warships.

      They are, but fighters aren’t

      I see it as implied that CV’s carry fighters.  If fighters were not allowed in sz102 then the rules would specifically restrict CV’s from being in sz102 while neutral, just as they restrict transports.  Warships are allowed in sz102 and CV’s are warships, with or without planes aboard.

    • RE: What to do with France?

      @ItIsILeClerc:

      For this reason I move a large (if not all) Japanese escort to #20 or #36 J1. As much as I hate the pressure relief this brings for the USA right off the bat, I don’t see other options for Japan if it wants to have all or most of the DEI in 1 sweep

      Why is this move relieving pressure off the US?  Where would you normally place the IJN if you weren’t anticipating a destroyer screen on the islands?
