In combat order, does SBR happen before or after normal combat?
What we’re wondering is can fighters be involved in BOTH an intercept & scramble, or do they have to pick one or the other?

USSR can enter China with a simple declaration before the Combat Move phase. However, they cannot ATTACK a Japanese-held territory adjacent to Manchuria without consequences. If they do, they will never receive the Manchurian troops if attacked.
This also includes Korea, even though it is not adjacent to Mongolia.
Agreed. Since it was the attackers mistake, the defender should get to choose if they want to re-roll the battle or just remove the bomber mid-combat and keep going.
I’d probly let them bring the bomber somewhere else if there were other attacks not yet rolled though. I wouldn’t allow them to go back and re-roll another battle with the bomber included though, that ship sailed.
Russia can not upgrade any of their factories to Majors because they are on territories that are only 2 IPCs. To upgrade a Minor to a Major, it has to be on a territory worth 3 IPCs or more.
You know what? I knew that rule lol. No idea how I forgot to apply it here.
Figures that we realize this today. I was all set to upgrade one of those factories in our game lol.
With that in mind sz109 might be the best staging point for Royal Navy if the RAF is strong, they can scramble up to 6 fighters there. Never considered that before.
Say one of those two units is an AA gun and the units were on the transport at the start of the turn. (Since I don’t think the AA could load during combat phase, correct?)
Can the transport unload 1 infantry during the combat move and then unload the AA gun during non-combat into the territory just taken?
Man up and G1 Normandy Bordueax and Southern France. Thats another 5.
Not worth a weaker France attack IMO to get both turn 1. If France rolls well… uh oh.
Also French ships convoy Germany when they collect the $3 for Southern France. Good chance you don’t fully collect for it.
Has Krieghund addressed this and confirmed whether it was intended or a miss?
I am sure that was a loophole in the rules - an unintended exploit, for what it’s worth.
I don’t see it being any different than using German planes to can open in the South Pacific which some players like to do. It’s a player using their ally and turn order to accomplish a strategy. I don’t see it as a loophole or a cheap move. Afterall, the transports can still leave the sea zone, load in another sea zone and attack.
Ah, I see now how tactical’s can effectively be used to escort (even though they will have to take AA fire).
So the attacker doesn’t have to declare raid targets until after the air battle?
Bombers in the Philippines have ridiculous range.
My question is when the defender decides to intercept would he/she be intercepting all raids resulting in one large air battle of all bombers, escorts and interceptors regardless of target?
Or, does the attacker decide which raid to escort and the defender decide which raid to intercept?
Hope my question is clear. Thanks
Seems that from the perspective of encouraging more historical play patterns, the NO should have been for control of Marianas, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, and Palau.
I’m a big fan of this idea, I just think it should only be an eligible NO once US is in the war.
A transport cannot however NCM to a hostile sea zone, correct?
Allies have won the last 2 games Nippon & I have played F2F. He went J2G2 I believe, I went J1G3. We both used to G to assist Italy at the expense of progress in Russia. Even with a strong Italy (>30) it doesn’t matter if G can’t push the Russians back to Moscow and take it.
Great point knp.
This rule doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me. If the country is friendly, you’d think you’d be able to move through it. Intuitively I would think it would be more challenging to move through a hostile country than a friendly one.
Great suggestions. In our games Germany and Japan go at the same time. No one ever brings the siberians to Moscow so it’s not giving Germany any information they wouldn’t otherwise have.
I think it has to be taken G3 and the transports have to be protected so that they can take the remaining armor back into the Baltic and keep the threat up on Leningrad. That’s the only way you can hope to push back the Russians.
I like this blueprint, but personally I prefer 2 bombers over the 6 art. Opens the door for more options early.
@Herr:
G1 place:
1 sub SZ111, 6 art Germany
Assume you meant SZ112?
