Yeah…It was just an idea. I love axis and allies but I havent been able to figure out how to make submarines a viable buy. (which made me think of fog of war), Submarines arent a good purchase because everyone can see where they are. If they could be “hidden” and get a better bonus then the one they get now. That would be cool. but I cant think of any submarine ideas. OR any reason WHY I would buy subs…they are horrible at attack, and even WORSE with defense.

It really really depends on the setup. Its 1940 so japan doesnt have that many territories under its thumb. I think that china can actually be its own player and that it can take longer for it to fall if british troops help china too.

Cool idea as well. When the game comes out I suspect there are going to be a plethera of awesome house rules.

Why join an Axis and allies forum and NOT play the game? That makes no sense.

RE: If US lost the battle of Midwayposted in World War II History
Agreed with pervious post. Its not that Americans had a “better military” They did but the advantages are overexagerated. Its only because Americans knew Japans codes that we were able to defeat them. A victory at midway would have prolonged the inevitable.

During and a little after WWII Douglas MacArthur…Until he thought it was a good idea to attack china. After that I think it was in humanities best interest to remove him from power.

RE: Japan vs Australiaposted in World War II History
No. Japan could take Austrailia, but HOLDING it is another story. The US would have treated it as any other island and simply started from hawaii and then taken austrailia instead.

RE: If Japan had attacked the USSR, would Germany have defeated the Soviets?posted in World War II History
No, The back half of russia is much like Alaska, a frozen wasteland. It would take them forever to get troops north of manchuria, and supplying them would be nearly impossible. There werent any natural resource up there so the japanese had no interest in “capturing” (if you can even call it that) north russia. It would be smarter to send troops into china or inda, where the resources were.

RE: 1942: The Eastern Frontposted in World War II History
I would pull back. Wait for the enemy to come to me, it doesnt make sense to waste wave after wave of my army for nothing. Let the russians do that instead while I enjoy the defensive advantage.

RE: Convoy boxesposted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
Subs do rule the sea, if you invest in them. You can get two subs for the price of every one cruiser. If you build a pack of subs its better. They are awful on defense. which is why the new carrier rules change naval combat.

Any ideas for a “fog of war”? it would make naval combat more realistic.
