OMG are you HIGH!!! All this means is Germany doesn’t have to sink 77 IPC’s into transports and can pick and choose when to take the UK out. Imagine 77 IPC’s to throw at the USSR.

For which game?  AAR or 2nd?

I mean for specifics, the “general” idea is a surprise strike.  In both games you sort of set up like you normal would for the Indian Ocean with some extra transports then hit W. USA/Alaska at the same time with units from Japan/Solomons. (Units your opponent thought were going into Russia/Australia-New Zealand.)

In either event, you’re only creating the option for KAF by slowing down just a little in KRF.  If America plays along, you can go crush them, if they see the trap and defend, well you always did want to go to Maui and Sydney, right?

AAR but All the other posts indicates its almost the same. But the same idea is there. My KAF suprises my opponents in AAR because the were used to me going through Africa or playing JTDTM. (Personally I don’t like JTDTM because it is so historically wrong but It seemed to work.) Now they always guard Alaska and So I take Africa and leave Germany to spend money on Sealion for a change or the Moscow tank drive

Last time I checked, I was still Queen of classic at the AAMC tournaments (I skipped the tournament last year.)  Anyway, it’s fun to get back to your routes and a lot of later strategies stem from strategies that arose from classic.

I am not so much giving up the islands in the south.  After the American fleet is dealt with, there is no reason to keep all your warships out East, one can always send the bulk down to deal with the upstart nations along with a transport, maybe two, to deal with armies.  Without America heavily invested in warships, England and ANZAC just dont seem that big a threat.

I’ve got a case of old Humbrol Enamel Paints but I have a sneeky feeling they may not be appropriate for this job.

So what do I need to get in the way of undercoat (can you get spray ones, do i need clear), what bramnd of paint, are acylic any good).

Painted or Unpainted units all die the same way. Just think of all the gaming experience you would benefit from if…… You used the hundreds of hours it takes paint each one of those tiny pieces to try implementing and practicing a winning strategy.

Great Idea! for every 10 Fiat/Honda $5 tanks you get one for free! Personally I’m sticking with the King Tiger, it may cost $6 but defending at a 3 instead of a 2 makes my day……

AXIS & ALLIES was first released in 1984. Then in 1986 the 2nd edition came out with new rule variations/clarifications and it rocked for 20 years with no adjustments needed. From my perspective  this version (Alpha) game is not even a month old. When one thinks of the January 13 2011 as the last and hopefully final Alpha update….were all Rookies> compared to the original.

Sorry Idi, but I do not understand your statement about ratio # of transports. Whose transports are you referring to? Unseen in the photo is the U.S. navy with a large group of transports that are staging off Brazil. See new photo below.

That is a negative. Only the CA in zone 91 was sunk on G1. By the way, the allies surrendered after six rounds in this game.

The Germans didn’t sink the UK fleet and they still won? WOW you and your players must really be all total newbs. Seeing a staging area off Brazil is one of the funnier notions I have seen on this sight. I especially like the USA players’ tank column parade up and down the East coast….very effective for American morale!

OMG….Is this the USA players’ first game ever? Where is the monster USA navy that is going to land all those tanks? Hell, I don’t even see an American ACC. The Pacific fleet must be huge?!?

OMG who plays AAR 2nd edtion anymore anyways……its a kids game compared to Global 1940. Although the rules don’t change weekly like global though.
