In Arizona, its a “dry heat.” well a dry heat is still too goddam hot!

fellow posters, please don’t take my rebuttles as personal attacks. I like to debate, and I hope we can have many interestign debates in the future.

    • RE: Italy

Make Italy (SE) worth 15. Though the axis will be making more IPCs, their money will be stretched becuase they attack on seperate turns.

The Italians don’t have Algeria (that was vichy france’s) but make libya 3 IPCs (good place for a future allied complex.) If Italy makes 18 IPCs, and minus the loss of effectives of being an entirely seperate country, I believe the game would balance out. maybe there would be no need for bidding!

how about making sicily worth money?

      Well, I ain’t your school :Þ

Seriously, show me one that works… I’m just saying…

Anyway, America does not have the highest standard of living for everyone, though I believe their is the greatest economic oppurtunity in America.

America should save some money and withdraw troops from countries we had troops in during the cold war. I do not care if north korea takes out south korea!

The GNP is kind of iffy. have ssen different numbers for sweden and america. (anywhere from 30 grand to 60 grand.) in other countries, how much of their income goes to paying taxes? and “average” could be interpretted in 4 different ways (you know mean and median are the ones used a lot, at times range and mode.) I could not tell you if america truly has the highest standard of life, but I could not tell you the contrary. When I retire, I will probably go to either Alaska or Canada. Both places pay you to live! Just one thing though, don’t a lot of people from Canada go to America for health care if they have the money to spend?

yes, they had some excellent aircraft (and a good amount of them), a good fleet, and mediocre tanks. yet they couldn’t even take greece. they couldn’t take egypt they outn umbered the brits 5 to 1.

    • RE: Cranking out the T-34s

      from what I head:
A legend says that it fought to protect its factory as a proto-type. It’s not known if it was actually in combat, go to achtungpanzer.com, the panzeriest site on the net.

What is cool is that the Germans had night vision in some tanks by April '45, I think they were Panzer IV’s. It actually worked, it killed 4 allied tanks. (I think they were Comets)

i’m pretty sure that the russians in the 1930s didn’t have a bunch of farm equipment, especially because private equipment was seized and they had state tractors.

the point is that people work harder when they earn something. how many hours do you work a day? or you just a student… then what would you know about middle class struggle? Man is too flawed a creature to practice perfect communism. sure, many communes work for the first generation of people who created it, but then they fall apart. If someone works hard, more than their standard 7 or 8 hours a day, and 5 days a week, they will make a lot of money. Too many people are too lazy to work 14 hours a day. Sure enough, a lot of people do. Six turkish immigrants that worked for my father did just that, slept on oil cases, showered with a hose, and are now millionaires. yes, they now “oppress” the lazy american middle class. the same middle class that decides to live excessively, drive big gas guzzling cars, smoke cigarettes, drink their money away… that middle class. A lot of people make themselves poor.

Commmunism is a great theory, but long term human greed takes away any good that can come out of it. I can show you many succesful capitalist societies. show me a succesful communist one that directly follows lenin marxist ideals.

but they aren’t of the official version 3 rules, right?

I never played with Kamikazes, it would suck to lose a carrier to punk ass suicidal fighter! Japan has a good strategic position anyway.

    • RE: Cranking out the T-34s

so not true! the german tanks SUCKED compared to french tanks (in the begg. of the war), which had heavier armor, and 75 mm guns. in fact, the germans had only one tank out at the time with a cannon larger than 50mm. France had some even scarier tanks in the works, but the inferior in strength and number german tanks paved the way for german victory in france.

this proves that it isn’t the size of your cannon, it is what you do with it!

heh, communism. it simply doesn’t work! C’mon, “social democracies” have any degree of success today, because they benefit from capitalist american trade. Maybe man will evolve into an animal that can make good use of communism. the truth is, that either idealists or lazy people want communism. it simply doesn’t work. in the soviet union, at one point 10% of private farm production made up about 50% of russia’s agriculture.

IMO americans are arrogant. but so are canadians, brits, frenchman, israelis, arabs, everyone! almost every nationality thinks they’re right and everyone else is wrong. if you can’t realize that, then YOU are arrogant.

now did anyone read my excessively long message ?

If the games were historically accurate, the axis in the original would have no chance ofwinning. Japan’s land holdings were extremely exaggerated.

Actually, 300 Germans died from the Komet and 12 bombers were shot down.

shot down by 2 Komet proto-types, 6 bombers
shot down by infa-red “rockets”, 2 bombers
Shooting down 12 total and skidding their way to many deadly landings … Priceless
