Still, 4 infantry make a huge difference in Asia. and then sending two to four out each turn does compromise asian supremecy. Japan has to be threatening russia by turn 4. Taking Alaska is something you can do if you have complexes in Asia, some transports and infantry hanging around on the islands or japan itself.

RE: Attacking the german fleet!posted in Axis & Allies Classic
If the German fleet is smart and anahilates the British fleet, and American transport, you can still destroy their remains (If any!) with your two fighters and a bomber, plus, America has their own Bomber and fighter just incase the axis had freakish luck. Don’t forget to use your British mediteranean sub to attempt to destroy the surviving German (technically Italian) battleship with some planes landing in Gibraltar. Usually the axis sub and transport die in the huge confrontation with the Russian and British navies combined. Actually, Germany never has a fleet in the games I play, but they can still threaten the allied fleet with the remains of their Luftwaffe. Good diversion to help Russia out at times.

RE: Rommel and Hitlerposted in General Discussion
he married Eva Braun, not his neice, but he was planning to marry his neice Geli Raubal, and she supposedly committed suicide after a fight with hitler. Word was that she was embarrassing (bad spelling) Hitler, and so she was murdered.
Hitler probably killed himself, he was dying already from natural sicknesses and those induced by his drug habits. he might of gave himself Parkinsans Disease! (more bad spelling…) so even if he was out of Berlin, he might of died on the trip down to his house in the mountains. Finding the fake bodies, and not knowing where the ashes to the real one is, is suspicious though.

RE: Cranking out the T-34sposted in General Discussion
the war was supposed to start in 42, from what I heard, but if you look at how the kreigsmarine was supposed to be built up, the number looks like 45, 46.
if germany was into full wartime production in 39, it would of made a huge difference IMO…at least against Russia. though Ploesti couldn’t fuel the German army nearly enough, in the begginning of the war, more tanks and aircraft couldn’t hurt. does anyone know when germany started to make artificial fuel? and who was behind it?

RE: Coolest aircraft made during WW2posted in General Discussion
A lot of the german aces shot a good deal of aircraft down before Russia.
Still, by statistics, the Russian planes were inferior (well, maybe equal to a crappy Me 109.) -

"Well by special interests you mean “money under then the table” then I think that it more of a capitalistic notion. Look at the US Government on the years when special interests have caused scandals and corruption (especially before the direct election of centers). "
I guess you mean “senators”… yess, there is always need for reform, but you can’t tell me that the people in power always truly look out for what is best for the people. a capitalist society allows people to work for their money, what they own…their power. A communist society with corrupt leadership (and in my opinion 99.9% of all leadership is corrupt) is even worse than a corrupt capitalist society. capitalism at least has social mobility, and it allows people that work to get the dividends they deserve.
people who work hard usually get the benefit of hard work, over time. Communism will not be a quick fix, and nor a long time fix. man’s greedy nature will never permit it. if it was successful anywhere, it will start going downhill after one generation. capitalism will always exist as long as there is ownership. as long as someone is better than anyone else in any sort of way, capitalism exists.
That’s why i feel the need to repeat myself. Communism is either endorsed by lazy, possibly down on their luck people, or idealists. both fail to see straight.
You would have to tell me greed can be exterminated…if you can’t tell me that, a pure communist society wouldn’t endure forever. At least in America, and even more so in Europe, capitalism exists but under restrictions set by the government. yes, people demanded change and reform, and yes for the good of the people corperations can’t run as wild as they did 100 years ago. But at times, people get greedy, like in france. a 35 hour work week? A society that doesn’t want to work will collapse.

Did you ever play alone?posted in Axis & Allies Classic
Not on the computer, but the board game alone? i did, and it was fun. it is hard to trick yourself!
japan took america somehow, and Britain took Germany somehow…by then i decided to call it quits…

RE: Axis and allies crackposted in Axis & Allies Classic
ok, you lost me…
the computer game is a cheap substitute for the board game. like crack is for poor people, and cocaine is for the rich “good” people. the only drugs i take are “medicine” from chinatown…no fooling.
just joking about stereotypes
i bought mine at the mall…at a specialty store though.

RE: Italyposted in Other Axis & Allies Variants
how much is a board on ebay? i bought a new one for $30.

i think the best way to eliminate greed is for the leaders to be rotated on a ragular basis this is ware the “recaled at any time” part come in, as soon as there human instincs get the best of him/her the peaple elect some one new to fill his spot on the council.well, things aren’t that easy. for one, a lot of leaders are dictators and such for life. now i’m sure your party lines would not want the end of a regime like that, so there’s a loop in logic.
another thing is that someone doesn’t need to be in power more than one day to be corrupted. special interests run everything, in any sort of country. only if every rich and or powerful person was murdered, would you solve that problem…but you would only cause a lot more problems.

RE: Rommel and Hitlerposted in General Discussion
you got to hand it to Hitler… when he took full control of army group B during operation blue he did a lot of great things…not!!!
Hitler was a drug addict control freak. He should of never ran a war. Ironically, the allies called off an assassinnation (spelling, sorry) attempt, becuase they knew hitler was running his country into the ground.

RE: Cranking out the T-34sposted in General Discussion
ahh, german production. they didn’t go into a true wartime production until 43, and they didn’t get their act together until 44! by then, they can make all the tanks they wanted, but they just could not fuel or grease them. in fact, my friends and I call anything that squeaks a “panzer.”
What if the germans went into full wartime production in 1940, anticipating a long war with france? What if they decided to mass produce their other bigger helicopter (the two engined one, “Kite.”)?

RE: Coolest Army Get-upposted in General Discussion
Operation “norwind”? When was that, after the battle of the bulge, a small coutner attack?
yeah, the fallschirmjaeger had a cool uniform, helmet (and assault rifle  ), but we can’t count out the germans in operation tyfun wearing rags, bed sheets, and anything that was white and warming!
the waffen SS had a modern looking uniform, i would have to agree that it is the coolest of ww2.

Coolest Army Get-upposted in General Discussion
Which army looked the coolest in your opinion? I would have to say the German Army of WW2, because in fact, their uniforms were designed by fashion designers! sure, their clothes looked warm, but you froze your balls off! but hell, leather is still cool!
personally i like the WW1 german helmet more than the ww2 one. it has those robotic bolts sticking out. I own one  i named it kraut. bought it for 45 bucks i did… it looks far “cooler” than my spanish civil war helmet, which looks just like the third reich’s metal head gear.
so, do you guys have any favorite uniforms of your own?
