    • RE: Attacking the german fleet!

maybe my strategy is flawed, but I do an all out attack on every allied ship:

      1 sub versus american transport
1 fighter from wetsern europe versus brit trans
one battle ship and one trans versus brit battleship
3 fighters, one bomber, one trans and one sub versus brit and russian fleet in north sea
last fighter from ukraine flies to egypt and attacks with one tank and one infantry.
With a fighter in libya, and a fighter in western europe, i can attack any transport that might of survived trying to reclaim africa.
      this has worked for me…

Usually you can ask for the game cheaper in a store and they would sell it. If they say no, at least you tried

    • RE: Attacking the german fleet!

usually there is only a battleship left, unless germany bought a fleet (they should of bought tanks for russia.) a bomber and sub can take out the german BB. if the bb is near gibraltar, then you can use both fighters.

    • RE: Italy

yes, i can’t still get over it. that $30 goes a long way, i played about five games in the last 6 days.

I know you hate the sicily idea, but in fact, Egypt was held mostly by Great Britain, and Britain held the canal. In the spring of 42, the axis, weren’t to far into egypt at all. Increasing syria iraq is a smart idea.

You can make Tunisia seperate from Algeria, and worth one IPC. Lybia can be 2 IPCs.
Sicily-corisca can by 2 IPCs. Give Italy those little islands near turkey (corisca and ‘little islands’ not on map, they can be manually added) and make those little islands one IPC (they switched hands between italy, to britain, to germany during the war.)

Italy would have a total of 13, and you would keep the historical accuracy.

    • RE: Coolest aircraft made during WW2

I think in the first day of operation barbrossa, 1500 russian planes were destroyed, somewhere around 5,500 in one month. some good times for the luftwaffe.

my “crappy” me 109 comment stands. that guy named Kurt Tank who designed the Fw190 said the Me 109 was a “thirdbred racehorse”, and Heinkel came out with the He100, which came out barely after the me109 and was far better (especially speedwise.) I do not know how simple to build the Me 109 was, so maybe that was a factor…but maybe it wasn’t.

This might be off topic, but where the hell did the germans get cigarettes? did they grow tobacco, or did they capture it?

      i always wondered…

    • RE: Cranking out the T-34s

ISII had a 128 mm gun, but how much pounds of explosives were in its ammo? the tiger II was always considered better tank to tankl, but aside from armor, did the tiger II’s 88 shoot more powerful shells than the russian 128?

the british took all of that out in 1941 before operation crusader i believe. they took troops from egyt and aden and took it back.

miniphreek, tell me when you finish that. maybe we can try that out on an online game when you’re finished trying it out with your friends.

if you use bidding (and you must for russia unrestricted), you can prevent a russian attack by putting three jap inf in manchuria.

you’re not stupid! i used a “Troy McClure” quote.

and to my surprise, when i play, i surprise myself! i try to anticipate what i would do. it took my about 2 and a half hours to finish a turn…but it was worth it.

My grandfather never told my dad that…though he did tell my dad stories of leaving an escape door on the bottom open all the time, because his tank would be blown away by german guns.

smaller community as in the Amish, sure. peer pressure controls a small amount of people. code and ethic cannot control 6 billion.

remember, communism is the perfect system in theory…as long as you are willing to work as much as I!

    • Complex in India for Britain

If someone puts a complex in India in the first turn without any additional defenses, the Japanese would have no problem taking it. If you do add additional british and russian defenses, in theory you can hold it. I fought a Great Britain that did this, but it really didn’t seem to help him. by the time he was able to counterattack in asia without leaving india with too little defenses, I had almost every part of Asia as Japan, so if anything, he wasted valuable russian fighters, and british IPCs.

does anyone know how to stop a japan like that?

another thing…if japan buys a complex and transport in turn one, what is your opinion on that? any pros or cons?
