    • Racial Profiling in airports

Why are people opposed to racial profiling in airports? When you look for criminals, why don’t you investigate their characteristics? Racial origin and skin color is important in certain situations in my opinion. For instance, in airports, we are so PC in America (at times) that instead of double checking people who have the appearance of a terrorists, we’re just randomly checking everyone. What sense does that make?

I have nothing against arabs or muslims. And yes, I understand that it could be shameful to be singled out, but you know what is a bigger shame? Three thousand dead people. Other characteristics besides race should be profiled as well.

I know no one asked to hear this, but I would like to see what others think about this subject.

The strategists in the Axis camp knew it was only a matter of time before America would join the war with it’s WW1 Allies. Germany could have defeated England alone with or without US backing, but not the Russians and English together. In order to win, Germany would have first have to defeat England on English soil. The Americans would have then been cut off from the war indirectly. After the UK surrendered, Russia could have been next. Hitler got too impatient and started the eastern war too soon. Japan should not have attacked Pearl and the Axis probably could have kept the US out of the war for a number of years which would have taken Russia and neutralized China. Only with this scenario did they have a chance. The US HAD to stay out of the war for Axis victory. It may have worked with competent Axis leadership and co-operation. We know that wasn’t the case…

The Americans were actually sinking U-Boats and vice versa before declraration of war, and america could of liberated GB from Iceland. Hitler was a dying man, and he wanted to escalate the war. He should of delayed the war to at least 42. An invasion of britain was next to impossible to pull off (even with air superiority.) Germany really should of invested in their helecopters, but i believe germany never wanted to invade GB. they wanted to make peace with them. They actually had something against the russian people.

Yes, the natter (the thing with 20 rockets in its nose right?) the komet would burst in flames if it was made of plywood. it was a flying gas tank.

The C and T Stov was needed for the new submarines and who knows what other weapons (I heard V2 rockets can be powered by one of the two.) The Komet simply killed way more germans, wasted labor, and fuel.

Germany and Japan’s 5 fighters are vital. There is no way they could replace them any time soon.

That’s why that one stinkin’ AA gun in karelia is so annoying!

As for the deal on the Middle East, I would still stick to an IPC value of at least 2. Even after WWI, it was known that the Middle East had a wealth of oil (not as much as Eastern Europe at the time) and one of Britians prime territorial acquisitions after the great war was the oil rich Middle East. Heck even isolationists America worked hard to gain oil concessions from the Middle East in the 20’s. Another fact not to be overlooked is the the Syria does have a strategic value of being part of the Suez Canal: the vital rout between Africa and Asia and the lifeline of India.

true, but a strategic area does not have man hour capability…but it would be nice to see what germany decides to do. Go for 5 by diverting forces in persia’s direction, or take Africa, or try to take both. I think this would add a lot more strategy to the game (as well as having corisca and the dodecanese Islands  )

      "–------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Actually with the invention of cruise missiles and other long range weapons that can be fired from battleships, the Battleships are one again the old glory ships of yesteryear. I agree that the battleship has outlived it’s once dominant usefulness but there’s still no disputing the BB’s incredible armour and the fact that any admiral would be proud to serve aboard a battleship. "

When it comes down to it, BBs are only good for cheap bombardment these days. No ship surpasses the beauty of a battleship. A carrier is plane, the battleship seems to be built with emotion.

Maybe the battleship will comeback when EMPs enter warfare. I’m still rooting for rigid airships though, but hey, they are making a comeback!

    • RE: Russian Strategies on this site

Russia usually counterattacks manchuria, and so, japan usually takes out every single russian force before a blitzkreig is even possible by a rogue jap tank.

Unless germany is being hammered, it is hard to be diverting forces to asia. at times, germany gets lucky enough to take minimal casualties, and take moscow by turn 4, even if you are constantly buying 8 inf.

      "–------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I’d leave more than just 1 INF in Caucases–1 INF makes it too easy for Germany to take with a minimum of losses in the counterattack–you want 'em to hafta put a few units in there so you can destroy them next turn: make 'em think twice. Also, don’t leave Soviet Far East totally unoccupied-leave at least an INF or 2 there. Same reason more or less…

Otherwise, do what Horten says… "

I’ll try leaving more, but i have seen what happens when russia leaves a single grain of rice out of karelia (at times as little as one less fighter.) I’ll try putting more in cacasus, to see what happens.

Man that must suck. There should be personals for axis and allies.

I believe all german jets used J2. I wonder what J1 is!

"Now this is where the Germans got stupid. Even though they had a dwindling rooster of pilots, they were able to produce more than 1,400 Me 262s, but fewer than 300 ever saw combat. Of course with 1,400 such aircraft, you’re going to have to skimp on the expensive metals meaning those 10-25 hours of jet engine life. "

I totally agree. the same with the Me163 komet. in limited numbers, they were excellent. Too many of them was a waste of resources. The Me262 is one of the same.

"However, this does not in anyway prove that Hitler was not a self-centered jerk. If it was up to me, I would at least made 1/2 of all Me-262s produced interceptors. "

I would have to say you are wrong. Even hitler saw his own blunder and in the december of 1944 ordered that all Me262s be interceptors, not bomber.

The Me262 had horrible bombing accuracy, and it should of stayed as a plain fighter. The Ar234 blitz was a bomber made at the same time and used the same engines. It held more bombs, and it was made for the role.

The Me262 never was made for bombing, though it had excellent armament. A 50 mm cannon could be fitted on a Me262 to blow away bombers and ships.

Now the He280, fully completed three years before the Me262 should of been given priority. It had the nosewheel undercarriage, and even capability to hold bombs, before the me262 even flew with jet engines. If given priority, the germans could of worked on making it faster, sleeker, and have a better armament. (Remeber the Bf 109 started with two Mg17 machine guns, and over the years they had 20mm cannons.)

the germans wanted to continue fighting russia, even Doenitz in the end tried to do that, and then decided to move forces to be captured by the western allies.

Germany’s chance of winning the war flew out the window the moment they declared war on America. They could of not out produced america in men or supplies. Though russia did the majority of the fighting, Germany was getting along pretty well, and had chances to pull it around. (In 44 they even stalled the russian advance until winter.) America made german victory impossible. They wasted 3 million (men) in france alone. If GB was the only threat, 2 million could of made a huge difference against the russians.

the yamoto weighed almost twice as much as any other battleship on earth! though the tirpitz didn’t seem to want to die. still, in the game, one bomber doesn’t truly represent one bomber. it might represent a thousand.
