I agree to be gentleman like with turn sequence order and convoy zones but a strategic mistake is a mistake they got to live with. Without them the world wouldn’t be the same place i.e. Hannibal crossing the Alps, Napoleon into Russia, Germany into USSR etc.

RE: How to play Japan!?
Work out a plan with Germany to ensure that both are prepared for war with the US and ensure that you capture the DEI asap as that is were your economy is really going to boom.

Deals with opposing team
I’m pretty sure it’s against the rules but I’m sure some of us have made deals with the opposite team once in a blue moon so post your deals and their outcomes. My favorite one is where I negotiated with the US/British player to let me (Germany) have Canada in exchange for leaving him alone in the Atlantic so he could focus on Japan. The punishment would be that if one attacked the other without a one turn notification the perpetrator would have to pay 80 IPCs. He left D.C. unoccupied, thinking I wouldn’t betray him, and captured D.C. and US 80 IPC which I lost because of the deal but he didn’t get it either.

RE: Japanese Capture of DEI, suggestions?
Whatever you do, protect your transports at ALL COST. Make sure each one has a good amount of naval escort and don’t leave any sitting there alone or with a weak escort like a single DD or CA. I made that mistake once. I got half of the DEI then lost my transports and their weak escorts thanks to British and ANZAC ships and planes. My other transports were clear back on Japan and it took another two rounds to get down there. Really set me back a bit as Japan and let the US become even more of a problem for me.
Do you think that if he takes all of his navy for escort on round two that it will leave other areas too exposed?

UKE & UKP Economies Question, Please Help
Can UK Pacific even capture a territory on the European board for their economy and vice versa? I thought that any territory captured by UK on the Europe map (besides West India) went to the UK Europe economy regardless of where the UK unit originated from or can they capture territories only if the other UK capitol has fallen to the Axis? Please explain as the growth of the UK economies are confusing to me when it crosses between the European and the Pacific theatres. I am playing with Alpha +2

Japanese Capture of DEI, suggestions?
So here’s the situation. After I capture Paris and wipe out the British Navy on G1, I am poised to capture London but my Japanese counter part doesn’t know how he should go about capturing Indonesia (Borneo, Java, Sumatra & Celebes) which he needs in order to fight the war against the US. It’s his first round on alpha +2 set up, how should he go about accomplishing his attack before the US can mobilize a significant force?

Vichy French
My friends and I were very dissapointed when we found out that the French could not surrender to the Axis so we made a house rule concerning the fall of France to the European Axis Powers. When Paris is captured, the Axis will approach the French player (note that this does not riquire a seperate French player but it does work out better) with the conditions of Frances surrender to the Axis. The French player can accept them or not the choice is theirs if they do accept the terms will be as followed.
1.) The French Infantry in the UK and the French cruiser that is bordering Norway will become British pieces.
2.) All other French units will stay French but France is now a member of the Axis.
3.) All current French territories will have to have another Axis unit (Ger,Ita,Jap) enter the territory in order to claim it. Any French units in those territories will not resist.
4.) If France is to capture a territory while on the Axis side that territory will go to either Germany’s, Italy’s, or Japan’s economy (Axis members will discuss who gets it, preferably Italy)
5.) France is allowed to have an income of 3 IPC’s while under Axis control. France will be allowed to place their units on whatever Axis or French controlled space they like.
6.) France’s original IPC’s still goes to whoever captured Paris
7.) If Paris is captured by the Allies, France will have the option of going back to the Allies or remaining Axis if they chose to sign the treaty.Comment if you like or dislike these terms and conditions for the Vichy government or if you have a different way of operating the Vichy Regime. I made these because I have alot of friends who like Axis & Allies and I wanted to let the French player to continue to be in the game and still have a noticeable affect on the game. Not a major effect, but an effect none the less.

RE: How should Japan try to save Europe?
My friends and I did it this way and it worked out pretty well but it is a combination one. The Japs need to punch a hole through either Siberia or Northern China and send their overwhelming air force to the Eastern Front as the Luftwaffe will be focusing on destroying Britain or helping the Italians in Africa. The Japanese Air Force will serve as a can opener for German armor, infantry, and artillery as well as bombing their industrial complexes and preventing the Soviets from stocking up on infantry. The other thing is that the Imperial Japanese Navy needs to scare the crap out of the US. This can be done in a number of ways but they at least need to capture the Phillipines, Hawaii, and be making a move or impling that they are making a move on Western US or Latin America. This will force the US to build infantry to protect the West coast or tanks to protect the Panama Canal.

RE: Axis too strong?
I know that I’ve taken out Britain on the first move as Germany. But if the Axis stall for too long the Allies will win. The Axis have to move fast if they want to see victory
